  1. Great review so far! Reminding me of why I love this modular so much. It was my first one, but it truly is an incredible one, I can only hope the Detective Agency will be as beautiful and with as much detail! By the way thank you for posting these reviews, they really are great resources for modular fans!
  2. That's funny, I'm also missing the 4x1 grey flat piece, did you decide to complain to lego and ask for a replacement? I'm sort of on the edge about it, I mean its a pretty common part, but at the same time don't like getting such an expensive set and have parts missing to it. I took away the one that goes under the third floor at the level of the stairs in the blue building to include it on the window build of the same third floor, which is when I noticed I was missing it.
  3. That's a nice creation, like your models of the A320, 737 and Q400, especially the covering up of the windows for the A320, the part does look 320-like without the top and bottom window screens. Nice airport as well, all those tile parts, it's beautiful! The boarding bridges are great, does the terminal have an interior? would be nice to see as well. Anyway, great airport! Congrats
  4. Oh that's a shame...was really hoping to see it today...guess the wait continues...on a plus note got myself a pet shop today
  5. You can't tell us anything more? Like color maybe? The wait is killing me I guess we'll learn more tomorrow
  6. I was going to go to the lego shop tomorrow to get one modular (can't afford more), and was going to go for the pet shop, but do you guys feel like I should go with the town hall instead? The earliest I can get another one after this is christmas, do you guys think either will have disappeared by then?

    City Square

Looking better and better, great addition :) Can't wait to see more
  8. Which is why maybe we should petition lego to bring back this smaller size, they rarely make them anymore, and mostly as airline exclusives...but I guess I'm just dreaming
  9. I think you can find the story of the cafe corner on the internet. Lego actually gave fans 3 options to AFOLs before the release of the model, part of the choices were a more expensive one with furniture, the middle one that was eventually released, and one a bit cheaper with less details (i forget the other thing that was removed for that option)
  10. I believe they are talking about the yellow you can find one the Friends school (41005) http://brickset.com/sets/41005-1/Heartlake-High
  11. Quite wonderful, I love the details so far. I've been making airports since I first got into legos as well, so highly recommend this theme for kids getting into legos, which appears to be just what you did with your sons! Can't wait to see more!
  12. Thank you everyone for your answers, I was curious as sometimes a lego hobby can be expensive and it sounded like some people had gotten good offers through damaged boxes, that but kids through charities for example deserve these toys more than I :)
  13. I guess no one really knows, but in terms of modulars there are still 2 previous sets still on the shelfs, so my guess is it should still be around for a little while. That's the gamble I'm making, having saved for PS next month, and waiting until I have the money to purchase TH and PC (and potentially DA after its release) during the next year
  14. Set 6330 was one of my first lego sets ever and at the time I remember being thrilled with it. It's true looking at it today it looks kind of plain but the parts it had were important in letting me create MOCs but I guess I'm biased as everyone will defend their first lego set
  15. oh that's a sweat deal, thanks :) I'll do that
  16. Hi everyone, I seem to remember a thread that I wasn't able to find about the discounts some users have been able to get for damaged box at lego stores. I was curious how one could find out about such discounts at a particular lego store. Is there a special bin with lots of damaged sets or do you need to ask employees about it and hope for the best? Thanks in advance
  17. nice review, recently got the set as well and wasn't disappointed (although should have maybe saved money for another modular ^^). I think the blue plate represents a pond, an extension of the one from 31010 Treehouse as many people have said the sets go together (meaning the kid of the family is the one in the tree house)
  18. Cool replica of the real thing. I remember waiting hours overnight at the white river jct greyhound gas station, cool to know I'm not the only one that has been there :) Sadly my family has left Vermont recently, so probably won't be going back anytime soon. Hope the show was fun! Nice build again!
  19. Thanks for posting the picture and for the advice, sadly I don't have enough tiles at the moment but I'll keep that in mind if I find tiles at some point in the future :) Thank you for your kind words, glad you like it :)
  20. Thanks everyone for your kind comments, for those who can't see the pictures I'm adding the link to my MOCpage, until brickshelf is back up: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/394207
  21. Hello to all First I apologise if this is in the wrong thread, but I figured a train station was a town building and belonged more in the town thread than the train one. I'd like to introduce you all to my train station! When the Horizon Express was first announced, being French, I could not miss the opportunity to purchase the lego version of one of our country's icons. With 2 HEs, I decided to build a French scene. This was helped by the release by TLG of the Parisian Restaurant a year later. However a train and a restaurant wasn't enough, I therefore decided to build a train station. As I lacked the resources to build a large train station which can be found in major cities across the country, I decided to build a traditional station which can be found in the french countryside. My inspiration was the JOUEF HO train station my grandfather has on his model train layout. As this is a work in progress, not everything is finished, but for now the station features: 3 SNOT doors (2 in the front, one giving onto the platform), a movable clock, an entrance to an underground passage way to link different platforms, ramps to access the platform from the street level, and a modular like design to easily get access to the interior (which is unfinished at the moment). The platform can also be extended using brick connectors to give it more length. As I wait for an upcoming PaB order to arrive, this is the current status of the train station, I hope you enjoy! more pictures at: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=546672 MOCpages link if brickshelf isn't working: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/394207
  22. Well from the understanding that pretty much everything could become a modular I don't see lego running out of potential buildings per say. If we think about it there has already be forms of repetition in the shape of "shop with apartment", so lego could continue milking the cow with such a combo, changing the shop and making a bit of a different apartment. So I don't see why lego would stop if the modulars continue to be popular.
  23. I know, RER B is a mess...and the older config is looking grungier and grungier, luckily there are more and more refurbished trains appearing, at least the interior is more colourful and bright, unlike the darkness of the old config. Thanks UrbanErwin, unfortunately I think Skystorm is right, my version is nearly impossible to reproduce in real life. well it does have a 7 stud width, so I guess a battery box could be added, I must admit only recently (as of two weeks ago) got my first motorisation kit for my horizon express, so wasn't thinking of motorising this train at the time I LDD-it.
  24. oh never mind, lego tells you on their site it's V1
  25. thank you everyone for your answer, I took out all the batteries and put them back in, and reinstalled the cables, and it seems to work fine now, maybe a bit of dust or something was stopping it from functioning correctly
