Eurobricks' 3rd LDD RCB
J4ke replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
On an unrelated note, you totally need to bug the site admin to add those emoticons to the forum proper. -
Well, it took me a while, but I finally got a chopper I'm happy with. Proportions are hilariously skewed, but that's intentional. I wish I could say it was a fun build, but having a mix of brackets and snot bricks was an utter mess. Sorted that out though, eventually. Named for a Greek Titan of air and hunting... seemed apt. More pics in the Photoset. As usual, comments are welcome!

As the scout returns to his jeep, he is shocked to find it run over by a tank. This was a fun two-day build, one day for the baseplate and one for the car. More pics in the Photoset Comments welcomed!

Wow. Just wow. These are tremendous.
-
Thanks all! But this is already a futuristic version. For the people who doubted it's piloted-ness.

Shotgun. -
Here's the entry to the other future warfare catagory, a spaceplane. Besides looking awesome, the wings are designed to fold inwards to allow the plane to break free from the Earth's atmosphere and rocket into space. Heavily inspired by Russian planes, This took longer than I thought, but I'm still pleased with the end result. Oh, and it fits a fig! More pics in the Photoset. Comments welcomed!

Thanks all! I do have mroe pictures of the interior, but I didn't bother to upload them. Basically, aside from the cockpit, there's no detail in it whatsoever. I didn't design the roof to come off, so I saw little point in detailing that which couldn't be seen.
-
Thanks all, glad you like it! RE the more turrets thing, I briefly considered sticking some guns in the middle of the front tread assembly, rather like the tank from Indiana Jones. But there just isn't really enough room. And as you have noticed, I really wanted the whole smooth look.
-
So I built military for the first time in ages. It's a big chunky APC that was alternately fun and horrendously annoying to create. In deference to the fact that all you militaryists out there seem to prefer studlessness, I went for the smooth look here. Door design by OptimalControl, guns inspired by NannanZ. More pictures in the photoset. Comments are welcomed, as always!

Seconding this, and can we have its little brother too. "Windscreen 6 x 4 x 2 Canopy" -

But remember, Classic Space makes use of TrYellow, which means you're restricted to just the two Atlantis cockpits. There's the TrBlue option, though. But again, only a handful of canopies and panels. -

No offence, but can we have an experienced (and coherent) member hosting something like this? Thanks. As for the polls.. I was torn between Micropolis, but ultimately went with SPACE! I'm all for more pieces, but I fear some people's computers may explode towards the end of the RCB. Mine was getting unhappy towards the end of the MMV. -

Got my tile yesterday too. Thanks! -
The turtle moves. (One criticsm. Cori Celesti and the surrounding mountains are disproportionally massive. Still, awesome stuff.)

Pretty cool stuff, great jobs all around. As for the next project, I'd love to see a Micropolis module layout. -
That'd screw everything up. Humans and elves have regular feet, hobbits and dwarves get small feet. Since dwarves will get extra height from the beards and helmets, I don't see that it's a big deal. And your avatar may be LOTR, but your name is from SW:TCW, which made me think younger kid.
-
Dwarfs/dwarves, potatos/potatos. Can't tell if you're a Tolkien fan or just fussy, but whatever.
-
I get that the whole LOTR-is-too-violent-for-the-chiddlers thing is accurate, but how about The Hobbit? You get Dwarfs and Elves and Men and Orcs/Goblins and Hobbitses and giant spiders and a dragon. What more do you need? And then the AFOLs can use the figs and pieces to make LOTR mocs. Win-win.

Mine's buggered too. Opened up LDD, did the whole update thing, when it tried to open the new version, it went straight to "Not responding". Clicking the tray/desktop/menu icons does nothing, and running it in Admin mode doesn't help either. Running Vista on a Dell inspiron 1525 laptop, can't remember anything else techical. It's not good enough to use the best-looking LDD rendering though. Help would be greatly appreciated, I haven't tried a full uninstall because I recall someone trying and finding that LDD is installed in multiple places. I'd like to know where all of these places are so that I can uninstall them all before I try a reinstallation. Thanks.

Cool, but the feet are too big. Also, you're using ninjago skeleton feet for the ankle hinges, don't know if that's intentional or not. They only come in white/black bottoms though.

Right, my bit's done. -
Well done TLG. I wonder if it will happen across all themes. I rather hope so.
