  1. Oooh. This is more my thing. :)
  2. Swoosh. I built another GARC racer, pretty much as opposite to my previous ship as is possible. This is much more futurey, and somewhat less visibly racer-ish. Probably due to the lack of massive spoilers or indeed any sponsor stickers. Megacorporations don't need sponsors. They have skunkworks labs that produce crazy machines like this to promote and advertise OCTAN in all corners of the galaxy. More pictures here.
  3. Originally concieved as part of an entire RTS faction, this trio of choppers is all that ever got made. The two larger ones are direct rips from some concept art I saw. The smaller one... I don't know. I've definately seen it somewhere though. So yeah, not an orignal idea to be seen in these designs. enjoy them anyway though. If DkBley is your thing... More colourful stuff to come. Hopefully this year, but I can't promise anything. I rather hope that this isn't my last post of the year though... More pics of the individual vehicles [http://www.flickr.com/photos/10606714@N05/sets/72157632370299942/with/8320127226/]here.
  4. This is a very WRC take on the spacerace/GARC concept, but it's the first thing that sprung to mind. It's not really based on a specific car all future-d up, but more of a generic coupé. Avec lime green stripes. It's probably noticable, but I have very little lime. I hope I made it work out OK though. More pictures here.

Thanks guys, glad you like it!

I built space. Again. This one has many many play features, since it was built as part of a game that had me send it away, to a certain Lego employee. As a result, I felt obliged to fit in a seperating cockpit and some hidden boosters. It also swooshes nicely, but what doesn't? Enjoy, more pics are here.

I'm not the first and I won't be the last, but here's my take on a Classic-Space VViper. Oversized tail fin piece may not have been the best choice for a snubfighter this size, but oh well. Worth it. More pics here.

Thanks everyone! Expect another VV soonish.

    VVenom

Yep, it's Novvember. Here's my first spaceship to mark the occasion, and somewhat different to my usual. This is actually inspired by the Forerunners from the upcming Halo game, in that not all the bits of them are necessarily conencted. I like that conecpt. I also like TrNeonGreen, and when I saw that cockpit, I knew exactly where to go. So yeah, here's a Vic Viper ala some bizarre alien race or other. Hope you like it. Viper shot, right there. More pics right here.
  10. Thanks! As for the armament... 2 quad-lasers and 4 lasers isn't that excessive... since I imagine that the 4 little ones are more for point-defense, leaving the quads to focus on larger targets.
  11. Thanks all. There's no interior, because I accidentally made it too short inside for a minifig to stand up in. So there didn't seem any point in filling out the interior. As a consequence, it's really light, and swooshes excellently.
  12. Well, I didn't really intend to, but I built Star Wars. Not based on anything in particular, just a generic light cruiser/whatever from some generic era. Oh well. It still looks cool. For what it's worth, it probably fits in best with the Old republic/ KOTOR era, with the wide cockpit and general curviness. I was quite inspired by the Republic shuttly thing in TOR. So yeah, rather pleased with this. Angles, curves, nifty cockpit orientation... fun stuff all around. More pics here.
  13. Did this a couple of years ago, it was fun. Now I need to think up something new.
  14. Well, it's been a journey and half, but my biggest ship to date is finally done. Clocking in at 98 studs long, it misses out on SHIP-rating only because I didn't want it to. I'm weird and contrary like that. I've said pretty much everything about the build process in the WIP pics, so I'll keep it short and simple for a change. Here's a big, modular spaceship. There's loads of pics, enjoy. If you're coming to STEAM next weekend, you can see it in person. I can't promise any swooshes though, it's a little fragile. A final note on the background: yes, it's a bit busy, but I thought having the original IP2K box art as the background would be cool. Unfortunately, I can't not have it, because I made a mistake when saving it last night. Besides, the white/grey background that all the other photos have tends to lose the wings, so at least with this picture you can see all the bits. I really must apologise for the photography though. Still, I tried. Enjoy it, because I certainly enjoyed building it. More pics here.
  15. The inverted 2x2 tile is in the Ninjago Mech. Can't say I've ever seen or heard of a 3x3 plate though.
  16. I must confess, this is another of those models I built just to use certain parts. The cockpit top and bottom parts, the cowcatchers, 1x6 wheelarches, 1x4 curves with 1x2 cutouts and the long blue wedge piece are all making their debuts. (Although technically I used the wedge piece in my ADU hangar last year, but this time it's actually visible.) Despite my best efforts, I couldn't find a place for either car doors or minifig chairs to be used. Next time. Until then, more pics!

    Angleos

Even more thanks! Si, if you hold it underneath the middle bit, where it's reinforced with brackets, it's not too bad. However, vigourous swooshing with cause bits to fall off.Mostly the outer engine sections, they're not held on so well.

Here, this might help. Or it might explode your mind. Either/or.

Triangles! Space triangles! But yeah... I built a little spaceship, went for the funky angular style again. It took me a couple of days, and I'm by no means fully satisfied with it. But, I'm done with it. It was spawned by the engine configuration, and I'm pleased to have done my vision justice. It's a little unfinished and rough around the edges, but all the easily visible bits are done and I'm pleased with it. MOAR pics in the photoset, as per usual.

    Spyrius Snooper

Thanks all, for your comments on the ship and for the happy birthdays! As for an IP2K ship, I have plans, but I make no promises. ;)
  22. Spyrius is one of those 90s themes that nobody seems to remember, or at least not talk about much. Having aquired that really cool angled panel in TrBlue, I felt like using it, but I didn't want to do another Futuron/WRS ship again. So then I remembered my childhood, looking at the Spyrius sets in my catalogues. And here we are. Clocking in at 71 studs long and 54 wide, it's a bit bigger than the WRS ship I took to STEAM. It's also a LOT tougher. This thing is seriously solid, thanks to a technic frame that is probably spaceworthy. You can see me really throwing this around in the video, (Click) and I feel totally safe doing so. So, to conclude: SPACE! Enjoy, and check out the rest of the pics here. There's a fair few of them. Wanna see it in real life? There's a good chance this'll come to STEAM this October, so be there. (Oh yeah, it's my 22nd birthday today. Here's to many more models!)

    Swallowtail

Another spaceship for my NSC table, this is the fourth of five, each with a different colour scheme and style. I'm pleased with the build on this, but I think the photography is a bit more mediocre than my usual, and I found it very hard to show all the negative-spacey bits. Come to the event next week and you can see it up close and personal, where it looks far cooler! More pics in the photoset.

    Master Chief

Thanks! I'd hoped it was obvious, but the armour's based on the Chief's Halo 4 kit. It's a lot lighter than the previous versions, far more of the black undersuit's visible. And for the record, I have no plans for the Arbiter, nor any other to-scale models of any other Halo things.

    Master Chief

This is Sierra 117. Or Chief, or John, or even the Demon. But he's made out of LEGO, so he's far less intimidating. He stands roughly 23cm tall, and is as articulated and detailed as I could make him. Sporting neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, finger, hip, thigh, knee and ankle articulation, this is the most flexible thing I've ever built. I've tried to capture this with limited success in these pics, but it really does look better in person.... So, come to the NSC event at the National Space Centre in Leicester on June 23/24, and you can see him in real life! If you can't make it, you can make do with more pics in the Photoset.
