Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
J4ke replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
How about a compromise... only four free builds can count for points, but the builder chooses which. If for example, you build a spaceship and you want that to count, then fine. But if the next thing you build is a microspace version of the same thing, you can elect for that not to count, leaving you with three more point-winning oppurtunities. You get one chance to say whether or not you want it ellegible for points, and no takesies-backsies. Yes, no, maybe so? -
^Yep, I missed out on that. I went back and checked my A-Wing stickers for something useful, but no luck there. Oh well...

Thanks everyone! ^Turns out I don't have any Alliance logos, except for the tan 2x2 ones from way back in the day, which really don't fit. And it has a name: Headhunter. Glad you all noticed I took a chunky approach, I wanted to set it apart visually from the more spindly CW version, which we can all safely agree sucks.

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Redemption (Alliance Headquarters)

Right, my ship is awaiting clearance for active duty, but I'm taking it for a test flight later. Let's see how my new Z-95 handles! (OoC: Free build number 1, EB topic here.) -
It took a couple of days, but I finally got my new fighter in good working condition, no thanks to that smuggler... Seriously, who ships a ship in so many parts? But anyway, this thing has got all the bells and whistles... hyperdrive capable (I think, need to test that), 4 sublight engines, a couple of big guns, and proton torpedo launchers too. Cockpit's a bit snug, and I worry about the structural integrity of the lower engines, but all in all, I'm rather pleased. I'll take it out for a test flight as soon as I'm cleared to, and as soon as tech has checked over it and got it combat ready. Here we go... Red two standing by. (OoC, but there's more pictures, as usual, in the Flickr photoset)

Gotta go with the ewok, dude. Sheer comedy value dictates it. (Brief update while I'm here: the Headhunter now has a fuselage, cockpit and wings, but is lacking engines, guns and most of the underside. Stay tuned...) -

Indeed. Need to fix my ship first, it's in quite a few pieces. Made a deal with a scruffy-looking Corellian smuggler for it. He neglected to mention that there was some assembly required. -

^Yeah, that's why you build more. It's called practice. Nobody started off fantastic, dude. If you want to play the game, play the game. You might even get some constructive criticism out of it. -

Oh, don't get too excited. It's just a Z-95 Headhunter. But according to Wookiepedia they're endlessly modifyable, so I can put my own spin on the design. Figured it'd be good to build something recognisable, but possibly distinctively mine (hopefully maybe). Not gonna lie though, it's a really cool nosecone. >.> -

Not gonna lie, this is already great for inspiration... within about an hour or so, I've done some research, prototyped in LDD, and then actually built the nosecone of a starfighter for my chap. So yeah, good stuff. -

Reet, got an avatar/sigfig/whatever sorted. If the green background is objectionable, I can change it. -

Yeah, I'm up for this. Can't promise I'll stay active (I've got half a SHIP going on right now, but things like this are a good motivator to step away from 100 studs of bleyness) and I was part of Historica too, until I finished my castley resurgence. (Then I guess my character fell off a cravasse or something, because he was never heard from again...) But yeah, if you'd have me, I'd like to be Rebel scum. Pilot would be fun, gives me opportunities to do what I do best - SPACE. EDIT: It's 1am for me right now, so I'll stick a sigfig together tomorrow. -
FTG4 Crosscut - Title1 So it's SPACE! but not as you know it. It's VERTICAL SPACE! (photoset here) Built this for the 4th round of the Starfighter Telephone game, the theme of which, as you may have guessed, is Futuron. Someone else will be getting this in the post soon, and he'll build something similar to this, and then the game will continue. Since I'm starting, I'm really looking forward to seeing how different the spaceship I get back is going to be.

Or: Space Triangles, the return! (More pics!) Rather pleased with the front and wings of this, hence the focus of the pictures. The rear is less interesting, and in all honesty, a bit meh. But this has taken ages, and I'm done with it. Wing design was taken from this rather cool concept art: http://www.igorstshirts.com/blog/conceptships/2013/daniel_graffenberger/daniel_graffenberger_00.jpg The entire ship rather changed form however, since I wanted the cockpit rammed right at the front. In fact, from the side, ignoring the wings, I can kinda see the Firefly/Serenity design. Kinda... More pics will follow when I'm ready to take this apart, it's colossally fragile. For now you'll just have to believe me when I tell you it fits a fig. It does. And yeah, this is the ship I've been working on since the [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/10606714@N05/8916459752/Dragonfly. It's taken aaaages, thanks to a rather inconveniant bout of builder's block. I'd pick this up, look at it, and then tidy it away again, and go yell at bad drivers on Grid 2. (Friend me if you have it, XBL: J4ke257)

Thanks all! Wolf, I released WIP pics to a select few of my AFOL heroes, and the overwhelming consensus was that the platform needed to be high, my original prototype was a lot lower too. Hench, the scale's deliberate. This is a comparatively small support ship in the vast OCTAN fleet, only 14 crew members. A microscale version of this, at an even huger scale, would be very interesting indeed. And for what it's worth, there's two crew members on the platform refueling the ships in some pictures, check out the full photoset for more pics! Draik, fixed the link, thanks for that heads-up.

I built a SHIP. It's taken about 3 months, but, thousands of parts later, here's a 120-stud long spaceship with a petrol station on the top. And it swooshes. There's video evidence to support my claim, too. Build-wise, I'm fairly happy. There's a slight stress point somewhere near the middle (and by slight, I mean the SHIP will snap in two if you're not careful. I found that out the hard way.) but it's mostly structurally sound, thanks to 20 years of accumilated technic beams, no doubt. I probably could have added a bit of polish, there are for example no pictures of the underside because there's nothing there but white plates. But still, all the easily visible bits are detailed. The impossibly visible bits are also fully detailed, by which I mean the crew cabins. The plan was for them to be removable, but plans change and they're now only accessable by grasping firmly and wrenching them off the bottom of the ship. This was going to be a space pirate ship, but then worker201 made a snarky comment about how all spacers build is guns or cargo. So here's something different. Enjoy. Let me know what you think, there's plenty (too many) pictures to look through here. I say this now, there will soon be some more as I deconstruct it. Yeah, this isn't going to last much longer. Onwards to bigger and better things, no doubt. SPACE!

Space Truckin'. I was going to photoshop this up, but then I forgot. So I didn't. More pics of the BTron truck in my photostream, definitely worth flicking through to see what's in the back. This is Blacktron, after all, so it isn't cake. Enjoy, and let me know what you think.

Your poll is rather flawed, since you can't miss out the "didn't enter" queston. As for improvements, I harassed you about it in chat, but I'll do it here too. 90 entries in one poll was absurd. Should've been split into 9 or 10 heats, winner of each goes into the final round. It'd take an extra week, but it'd be a lot more fun.

I've been busy with other stuff, but I recently got the Spiderbike/shield hovercar set for the green. So I used it. Cracked this out in a day, nothing tremendously special, although I like the thrusters and how brilliantly ugly I made the front. The magnets were a possibly-failed attempt at greebling, but I don't know... More pictures (all of appalling quality, I know) here.

Well I picture it as more as a civillian research outpost than an evil outpost, but whatever works...

SPACE! But with an enviroment-y twist. I built this for the EB contest, and wanted something a bit different from future-y skyscrapers everywhere. So I stuck a science lab on the side of a mountain. Boom. More pictures in the photoset here.

But... but... my avatar is already SciFi-y. Do I win by default? :P
