  1. I voted "no", but that was before all that info about other boxes matching yours was posted My card gaming background made me very sceptical of the notion that these boxes have no random element, particularly when some spares appear twice. It looks like a random mix. But, evidence is evidence, so I'd vote "yes" if I had another one. It's extremely odd, though. Does this mean that there are five Divers in existence for every three Zombies? Why would TLG skew production like that?
  2. Great review, best look at the set that I've had yet. If I decide that I need Lotso, I'll get it, otherwise I likely won't.
  3. You see that, Dunjohnbot!? *smack!* You make no impression whatsoever! *smack!* That's why you didn't land the part of Dastan! *smack!* You're completeły forgetable! *smack!* You're not even a real minifig! *crumples empty Smacks bag and throws on floor* Now pick up that crisps bag and get back in your box!

  5. Some of the suggestions I've seen are already coming in Series 2, so at least some of us are going to be very happy :) More I'd like: Gender: Female Occupation: Statue of Liberty Headgear: Sand green Statue of Liberty hair Face: Sand green Statue of Liberty face Torso: Sand... it's the Statue of Liberty, damn it! 6. Definitely want to see this, but you forgot a critical accessory: a torchlight! Maybe Mul... ahem, Male FBI could come with a case file and Female FBI could have a torch. As for what I'd like: Gender: Male Occupation: Retro Sci-Fi Hero (Think Buster Crabbe's Flash Gordon) Headgear: Blonde quiff Face: Confident slanted grin Torso: Red and gold, in forties-style wide bands and triangles. Accessories: Pointy golden shoulder pads, ray gun (with a dish on the nozzle, the kind that shoots rings instead of a beam) Gender: Female Occupation: Roller Disco Headgear: Black afro Face: Singing loud Torso: Fashionably understated, maybe black with a chain, and a miniskirt. Legs: Rainbow leggings all the way! Accessories: Roller skates Gender: Female Occupation: Druidess Headgear: Flowing blonde hair Face: Vacantly happy, with a circlet of flowers Torso: Green dress Legs: New sculpt that shows her lying/sitting down with her legs out to the side. 8. It's a bit of a bummer if the boxes aren't randomized. It's easy enough to arrange for full sets in boxes like this and still avoid having a concrete selection. I got ten in my local Argos yesterday, and they had a stock listing of sixty, so they must've only got one box. I got three Indians. At least this means I won't get any more Indians.
  9. I hated my original Stalls entry. The RPG Items shop idea just didn't want to work for me. I've removed it and submitted a completely different entry. I really like Harbour Escape set in the Expand the Theme category. It looks exactly like something TLG would produce.
  10. I have no idea what's happening. Random, confusing chaos you say? Baby-stealing? Killing fellow posters? Surely there's a downside?
  11. This was really tough. I eventually narrowed it down to Penguin, Skalldyr or Jebediahs. After consulting with Zeus himself, I'll have to vote for the smoked crab. Skalldyr
  12. Not sure how useful they'll be in Argos.... Nowhere here has them yet. Maybe somewhere in Dublin but I'm a million miles from there. I may have to Argos it myself.
  13. "I imagine they might exist in massive ships ... having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach.” - Stephen Hawking I wouldn't worry. As long as Bill Pullman is around to give rousing speeches, those aliens don't stand a chance.
  14. I'm not a big fan of the wampa, I think he looks a tad too detailed for a legoman...?
  15. Entry 1 Lego R&D Memo: Three dozen different brickbuild models attempted. No success. Must now insist on dedicated ostrich moulds for PoP line. Entry 2 Officer: Ma'am, is this your husband? Tamina: Uh, no. Officer: Ever seen him before? Tamina: .... uh, no? Officer: .... can you take him anyway? We have no idea wtf to make of this.
  16. Powersliding a camel. Now there's an image.
  17. Funny, I just happen to be listening to the Black-Eyed Peas too. The TV had three of their songs in a row this morning so I'm kinda in the mood all day. Right now, Meet Me Halfway is playing.
  18. Oh, THAT's a tag.../honestlydidn'tknow
  19. ...unsettling.
  20. Nice review. I don't own any Exploriens, I was well into my dark age when it was around. I'm divided over it; on the one hand, I like the colour scheme and the exotic shapes and pieces, but on the other hand, I think the ships are way too busy and uncoordinated. This ship in particular has angles sticking out of it everywhere. And as you say, the swooshability is very low despite its appearance. It's a set I'd like to have, but I think it'd annoy me once I've built it.
  21. It does answer that in the rules
  22. This had been my priority from the second wave back when we first saw it, but since then, my priorities have shifted (heck, they've pretty much inverted, I wasn't interested in the train at all innitially, now it's top of the pile). I'm just not that keen on the dirty minifigs. The rest of the set looks interesting and has some nice parts, though now that I've seen proper pictures, they're not quite as interesting as I'd thought. It's not a bad set, it's actually quite a good set, but some minor quibbles spoil it somewhat for me.
  23. Four different carpet stalls, and four different carpet styles. Fantastic! I especially like the one that uses upside-down tiles, sorry, I forget the username. I've just entered my own stall, but I'll be surprised if it even makes a blip against competition like this. Three contests down, one to go. I might have to break up some of my other entires to expand the theme, I'm almost out of brown and tan. If anybody can point to a scene in the movie that can be accurately rendered entirely in lime green, let me know....
  24. Krazy Achmar and Krazy Achmed's Minifigs Shack At long last, Collectible Minifigs Series 1 has made it to Persia, courtesy of those shady but reliable shysters, Krazy Achmar and Krazy Achmed! They've, ahem, sourced an exclusive shipment of minifig packs and are selling them to you, the good citizens of Alamut, at knockdown prices. Heading to a fancy dress party? Want to make a big impression at that secret Hassansin meeting? Ever felt like rescuing the Princess and defeating the evil Nizam by mastering time itself - dressed as a cheerleader? (Legal disclaimer: Krazy Achmar and Krazy Achmed Enterprises Ltd. only guarantees the bit about being dressed as a cheerleader) Now you (have a 1-in-16 chance of) CAN!!! This comes in at about 190 parts, not counting the minifig bags - I didn't know how to count those, so I stayed well short of the limit. If anyone can guess what the three white columns on the roof mean, they'll get extra respect. The stall is built from a converted camel stable. The brothers like to be able to clear up and move out at a moment's notice... just in case. And here are the proprietors, the identical twin brothers Achmar and Achmed. You can see behind them the crane mechanism that brings the gigantic packs to the counter. As for moving them further; hey, that's your problem, buddy. What's that? Yes, I said "identical twin brothers." Got a problem? No? No. Hey! You! Get away from those barcodes!
  25. Hmm. I thought Mr. Sparkle was an exaggeration.
