Trading Collectable Minifigs Series 1, 2 and 3
Dunjohn replied to danim's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I just need a Skater Boy to finish the set. I have Dummy and Cowboy sealed, and Clown, Spaceman and Indian open. Anybody missing those? Edit: Nobody responded, but just incase, I no longer need Skaterboy. Cheers anyhow! -
Well, I did say that it might be hard to tell exactly where the minifig belongs in my vignette if I couldn't put him in it. I tried numerous ways around it, but no luck. So instead, I'm just going to ignore that annoying little rule. To hell with your rules, mods! My chosen minifig IS in this MOC, and he's right there in the open where he's meant to be, accessories and all! It only LOOKS like he's not in the MOC. That's what these guys DO. What's that, lady? You saw something up there? What, way up there? That's gotta be eight, nine floors, miss. A shadow? Wearing all black? Hah! What was it, a ninja? You been reading a couple too many issues of the Daily Shrieker, ma'am. Ninjas watching over this city? Don't make me laugh! Ain't no ninjas here, ma'am, and there ain't no ninja perched on some tiny narrow ledge or hanging off the roof of some old closed-down hotel like some screwed-up-inna-head pidgeon. Hah! Ninjas. Now 'scuse me, miss, I got like three blocks worth of garbage cans to pick up 'fore they let me go home. Broads these days.... This is what it looks like with nothing special done, just to show that it fits into the 8x8 base The building itself is aligned diagonally to maximise my space. Here's a link to the brickshelf folder. The ninja goes on the roof or can hang on the the sign's support rods if he takes his cowl off.

This lot aren't out yet, but the originals are up on Lego.com. -
I'm gonna spread the points here a bit: 1 point to lisgr's Golden Tower 1 point to -GZ-'s Persian Traveller 1 point to bricknave's Scorpion Sweeper The golden tower is just fantastic; not only is the Roc damned pretty by itself, but it's a perfect replacement for the craft in the Exo-Force original. It would have gotten two points from me but I had to spare a point for the Traveller: A lovely reworking of an already cute little set. And Scorpion Sweeper, apart from my impulse towards Power Miner solidarity, is an absolutely hilarious reworking of the real set. The best bit was the emergency horse. I really loved these contests, thanks everyone!

A point to: metalslime's Corner Rug Store LegoLyon's Traveling Medicine Stall johnno's Trouble please! If I had a fourth point it'd go to lisgr, but he's getting far too many points off me in the other categories to complain

I'm gonna give: 2 points to lisgr's Ostrich Race Game 1 point to brickzone's Waterfront Abduction I'm a big fan of the Games line and lisgr's set looks like it would slot right into it; everything from the open plan to the mechanics to the visual style are perfect, and those ostriches and microfigs are absolutely epic. brickzone's set also has exactly the kind of play features, content and visual style that I'd expect to see on the shop shelf.

I'm listening to the most painful, depressing, revolting, awful, vomit-inducing, ear-forfeiting, brain-melting, skull-drilling, cheap, treadmill, overproduced, implausibly enthusiastic, squeaky, American pop drivel that's been spewing out of my sister's bedroom at maximum volume for the last two days. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEBODY HELP ME!! A moment ago I thought she'd got an ounce of sense in her when I heard Queen's "Somebody to Love" start up, but no, it's a bloody cover version! Now it's Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" - another cover! A ***** ONE! And now it's a cover of Bon Jovi! It must be some Pop Idol pap she's playing this morning but it's utterly indistinguisable from the bilge she's been pumping out all week. GHHAAAAAAAAA

LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 (Official Pictures)

I don't think they're in any sort of alphabetical order. We don't have their official names yet, but I can't see any way to put the witch or the vampire in the middle if so. Unless they're alphabetical in Danish or something. But that still rules out the soldier thing. -
I've been watching an awful lot of X-Files lately, five or six episodes a day. I'm in Season five at the moment, and it's starting to affect my dreams. I've been Agent Mulder twice this week. So far, thankfully, I've yet to be Agent Scully. That would probably weird me out. Dunno if what Agent Dunjohn/Mulder has encountered counts as paranormal experience for the purposes of this thread.

It seems to be a different colour, though, the cheerleader's was blonde and this seems to be basic yellow. -
My original idea wouldn't work for me on an 8x8 base so I've come up with something new and substantially more ambitious. A slight problem is, it may be difficult to tell where exactly the minifig is supposed to be in it. Would it be possible to put in a "proxy" minifig (I'm thinking all-white) in one of the photos? If not, no biggie; I can always put the minifig into a fourth image in the linked album if I can't describe it clearly enough in text.

Thanks! Finally, I can make out what that thing Disco Stu is holding is. "Brick Fever." Excellent! Still can't make out what the Patrolman is holding, though. The Bodyguard's swimsuit has the innitials "G.T." on it, what does that mean? I also like how the Weightlifter's head is basically the same as Series 1's Ninja, but with a different expression. Useful for swapping. -

The Mime is probably the Crash Test Dummy of Series 2: The one most people don't mind getting one of, but that's a little too odd to be really appealing. -

Thanks for the pics! I see some differences between these and the preliminary pics we had a while ago. The weightlifter's equipment has changed. The old version had what looked like two 2x2 round jumper plates that would have been very useful. My priorities this time are the Pharaoh, the pop star and the Hoplite. Who's the Diver of this set - the one nobody really wants? The Highway Patrolman? -
Smyths Galway doesn't. Just Argos.

That Tesco offer is available in the Republic of Ireland too, yay! Sometimes "UK Only" promotions cover us, sometimes they don't. Three tokens gets you the alien space ship, five gets you the kayring, and seven gets you the magnet set. As far as I could see, it's only on bananas. With about eight bananas per packet, I'll be swinging from the trees by the time I have enough.

I wouldn't mind if they use this to expand some of their existing lines, for example: Gender: Female Occupation: Exo-Force (Pilot/computer nerd) Headgear: White version of existing black and blue manga hair Face: High-tech glasses, manga eyes, double-sided smile/roar Torso: Bright green techno-samurai (like the rest of them) Accessories: Datapad, lazer katana Gender: Female Occupation: Power Miner Headgear: Two, brown bob and miner helmet Face: Dirty Torso: Standard power miner gear, but feminized Accessories: Pickaxe, dynamite Gender: Male Occupation: Modernized Blacktron II astronaut Headgear: Black helmet, transneonyellow visor Face: Space hero Torso: Retains the classic giant green "B", but this time the torso has a modern, equipment-laden look Accessories: Redesigned two-handled jetpack Gender: Martian Occupation: Life on Mars Martian Headgear: These guys don't do headgear Face: I dunno. Something they haven't already done. Torso: Look, I don't actually own any LoM, whatever's cool. Accessories: Needle. Same as the nurse has. Since you asked. I dunno if that makes any sense. Okay, chicken leg. Same as the zombie has. Gender: Female Occupation: Fabuland giraffe Headgear: Scarf Face: Non-creepy smiling giraffe Torso: Purple top, yellow arms, black legs Accessories: Haven't a clue -

I've been buying in Argos and the barcodes have all matched Holodoc's list. I'm too selfconscious to check them in the shop so I wait until I get home. Seventeen packs and three Zombies, hehe... sucks to be anyone else living here looking for the undead.
