The game of the toy of the movie of the game. You do realise what this would do to the space-time fabric, don't you?
-
The reason I always cheer for Sweden is because, back in 1994, they were the only team in my sticker book that were smiling in their stickers.

Netherlands beat Brazil! I had a feeling they would, Netherlands are probably the best team in Europe right now.

Yeah, even though Series 1 is in plentiful supply locally, I'm holding off getting any more, saving my funds for Series 2. It's not only the presence of the Spartan that'll make S2 hot, it's also the fact that people have seen how S1 has performed, many were taken completely by surprise and missed out by assuming they could "come back tomorrow," so there'll be an even stronger immediate rush this time. -

Thanks, grogall! Woo hoo! Also, that thing about the lifeguard's innitials, that probably explains who Dawes is. -
I had been supporting everyone except Portugal because Portugal ran rampant throughout the tournament. I only switched at the last minute because they looked so inevitable Well, let's run an experiment, shall we? GO GERMANY!!

If that's true, it makes no sense. Lego's core identity is as a building toy, and fair enough the minifigs come disassembled, but there's only one thing you can build with them. Lego's actual impulse sets make more sense as introductory products. I really can't see how the minifigs would be appealing to anybody but existing Lego fans, and perhaps the occasional bored office worker looking for something to sit on top of their computer screen but with no Kinder eggs in sight. -
Disney don't own the patents on the bricks. They just own the movie name and, probably, the character licenses, but those are exactly what I don't want to appear. I just want a basic Arabic line and the PoP line has shown that Lego can do a good job of it.
-
This line did have some great parts and themes, and I'd love to see them continue, but preferably as a non-licensed, yellow-headed line. That would let them do practically anything they wanted to.

I don't have Robin Hood or the skater, but would you do this? My... Caveman Cheerleader Diver Indian Nurse Wrestler For your... 2x Zombie 2x Ninja 2x Cowboy? -
I didn't catch any footbal today. Portugal lost? Darn, I was hoping they'd go all the way. However, I should have known they'd lose. You see, I'm a walking football jinx. During Euro 2004 (held in Portugal, coincidence lovers!), Ireland also didn't qualify so my support was up for grabs. And every team I decided to follow immediately lost their next match and went home. Every. Single. Time. Right up to the final. I mean, how the hell else could Greece possibly have won? And ever since Portugal beat North Korea 7-0 I decided I'd follow them. And now look. If anybody would like me to start cheering for Germany, please send a bank draft for twenty pounds sterling to my work address, thanks.

I just tried to send you a message but it wouldn't work. Must be something to do with how long you've been here. Anyhow, yeah, I'd love to get some more Zombies! What other doubles did you get, and what else are you missing? I'd trade for other figs if it helps you reach the full 16. -
Hey, I went through a phase like that, too! Check out Svadba, that's pretty cool too. I really love the Coca Cola World cup anthem, it gave me goosebumps when I heard it first: The non-English section is available in multiple languages, but I like the Spanish most out of the ones I've heard. Here's Arabic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwNow14A-Zc&feature=related Japanese: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYSNaLEqZIA

Oh crap, the Brazil game! I completely forgot! I've been watching X-Files for the last three hours! *quick Google* 3-0? Aw, I wanted to see that....

It's very good here in Galway, innitially three places had them but Art & Hobby sold out their single box in a day or two (city centre location probably helped), so it's just Smyths and Argos now. Their stock levels remain steady, the boxes Smyths have on display don't seem to move much (I'm pretty sure the same three boxes have been on display for almost two weeks now, depleting slowly) and the Argos in-store stock checker is always around the 100 mark. There is a World of Wonder in Galway but they're a bit crap, I'm surprised they're still there after Christmas. They no longer stock Lego, but have some clone brand sets. I hear other branches do better, but their location isn't great while Smyths is absolutely perfectly placed. I was in Cork a couple of weeks ago and their smyths was well stocked too. -
You should visit some Magic: the Gathering forums. The saying goes on those that the company could put $50 bills in the packs and people would complain about how they're folded. The point is, negativity is a part of any internet discussion because analysing that negativity usually makes for the most interesting discussion. If PoP had been a runaway success like Pirates was, the future for Lego would be obvious. Now that we know that it hasn't had a stellar performance, the future becomes much more interesting to speculate on.

This set is a funny way to find out if there are other AFOLs in your area. I don't know anybody locally but I haven't pulled a Zombie or Cheerleader from my local Smyths in ages so somebody has access to the barcodes. -
Today was controversial all around. Tevez was way offside when he scored Argentina's first. The linesmen need to be looked at, you can't have these kinds of mistakes at this stage.
-
I sometimes use a hobby knife to separate uncooperative pieces (like two 2x1 tiles), so, yeah. Nothing life-threatening yet.
-
Yeah, woulda been 4-2 ;) The disallowed goal was unfortunate (but hey, 1966 and all that) but England were outclassed today. One thing I noticed during the game was how hot the Germany supporters were. And the cameraman noticed it too, he couldn't keep the lens off them! You'd swear it was all women in the stands.

Literally?? Glad I'm not a Dubliner or I'd probably be soaking wet right now.... I didn't watch the extra time but the ninety minutes was great. It was weird, I was kinda rooting for both teams to win. I wanted USA to win because I just like them but I thought the Ghanans had done great so far and deserved to keep going. I think I'm slightly happpier with the Ghana win but I'd be happy either way. Tomorrow I'm rooting for Germany. Nothing against England, I've just always liked Germany more. Man, I'm mellow.

Yeah that's my plan too, now that I can't afford the train. It also means I'll get my first baddie (Stinky Pete).
