Atramor's much less of a jackass than I had initially made him out to be. I told you it could be worse. He only picked up his accent during Quest 18-23, then I realized I pretty much ripping off Skrall's and toned it down. McCafferey's not-quite-chickeness was made up just so she could spite Finnegan. Some of the changes I've made I'm happy about, some less so, but he's defined a lot more than I ever intended. His past, though, hasn't changed much, I've thought about some particulars but overall I haven't messed with or delved into it much.

If I get a team together for it, level 30 (or at least Glory Medals) is the goal.

Sorry, that diagnosis took far longer than I expected. And the results were far from accurate. I'm going to Vote: Ralphy Rabbit (badboytje88). His defense is nonexistent, and his message to Ernie makes no sense. Penny might be a good lead for tomorrow, though.

That's what the Master classes are for, aren't they? The Expert classes, I think, are designed to be stand-alone unique classes, where the Advanced and Master ones are for classes more like the basic ones. It's why I half suspect I'm not going to choose a Master class even when it opens up - the Expert classes are just too much more interesting to me. Besides, Canoneer's basically a Ranger upgrade with a more defined skillset.

Not up to your usual standards at all. I'm noticing a distinct lack of building techniques...at all. This is one of the most unique creations I've seen made out of LEGO at all. Building completely in trans colors and without any connections at all is so simple, yet so brilliant at the same time, and the result is amazing. Fantastic work.

For the Necromancer class, how exactly does Undead Sacrifice work? Do you just state 'I sacrifice Undead Rat to heal (hero)' instead of attacking or reviving, or does it not take a turn?

Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job

"Aye, I'm ready to head off too." -
That actually sounds really cool. It would conflict with Lined-Up Shot a bit, though. Maybe the normal roll just deals damage normally equal to WP along with the Fragile effect, while rolling it while attempting to fly makes the next attack deal the Weakened effect in addition to the roll itself?

Firuz, you really need to expand your stock. By all means, entertain yourself at the expense of my EACULOAIS and my UTTCDARADIBA. My own suspicions of Ralphy come up from his ambivalence (if I'm using that word right) towards making a defense at all today. He asks us not to vote for him on the grounds that he's a townie and we're allowed to make our own decisions on who to vote. Or something. I didn't really think his list in Day One was all that interesting as other people found it, but I don't think I've seen a more pointless defense before.
-
That's the main issue I see too. It's interesting, but not really unique enough. Since they seem to be a heavily marksman based sort of class, maybe their attacks ignore SP? It's becoming increasingly common, and has the potential to be really useful in the future. Call them 'Marked Hits' or something similar?

Looks like ice to me...possibly a Polar Xxpress hint?

Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job
CMP replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
Atramor raises one eyebrow almost unnoticeably, but only nods, stepping back to the other heroes and glancing at Patricia. "Does Strivvi have a ruler who knows what we're doin' over there? Or is it just another lawless backwater where anythin' asked about us can be answered with a weapon? You say citystate, but then ya' add pirates and slavers..." -
Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job

Atramor walked silently into the building, practically rolling his eyes as Patricia demonstrated her usual strict, get-to-the-goddamn-point-before-I-have-you-hanged-for-treason attitude. He ignored her openly expressed grievances with Skrall and the somewhat fitting response to Boomingham, but listened quite closely to the description of the situation. McCafferey flapped over to the table, looking down as if to examine the maps. Once Patricia finished, he nodded to the antiquarian, and merely narrowed his eyes at the bearded fellow. He looked...familiar, and not in a good way. He had no questions, deciding to leave anything needed to be clarified for the others to ask. While Patricia was distracted speaking with Ellaria, he strode over to the man who'd apparently be the captain on the ship, crossing his arms. "I won't waste time wonderin' whether or not you'll be able to sail us through a storm. I'm no stranger to them, gettin' another captain is impossible because of it, and I doubt Patricia is paying us to wait 'round here. I'd simply like to know whether or not you can be trusted," he stated tonelessly, waiting for his reaction. He didn't bother masking the fact that he doubts about the trustworthiness of the increasingly familiar man. -
Because all the other females in this town have eyelashes. You don't. A) The trapper isn't scum, and I really doubt we have 3 killers. B) If the blocker or protector had gotten lucky, they'd bring it up. I'm sure there's a few people that haven't spoken up yet today, so I could still be proven wrong on this count, but until I am, I still think Carly was likely the scum killer. I'm assuming these things because until a blocker or protector speaks up, or if someone dies mid-day as a result of poisoning, I really believe it's one of the likelier conclusions. Though, they could've had a conversion. That's always a possibility, and it would make sense considering the vig/SK had managed to nail a scum Night 1. I'm certainly not going to do that. If that happens, I'm going to wait for the blocker/protector to speak up (or contact someone) to see who they targeted Night One. Then we've caught the scum killer. I just find it really unlikely there's 3 different killers, unless someone actually decided to use a one-shot vig Night One. This is just the most probable path, so I'm going to trust in it unless/until something new comes up. Seamus, you really shouldn't put that dictionary up there. Cases of introlinearwebstercitosis are known to be agonizing painful to the second toe from the left on the right foot. Doesn't it take a day or so for that happen?

REVIEW: 8833 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 8
CMP replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yet another awesome review WhiteFang, congrats on your 100th. A bit of a shame, the collectible minifigs were really on a roll since Series 4. I suppose I still like this particular wave better than Series 5, though. Annoying to still see the white pink-on-red plague. I look forward to seeing more, though. -
Luck doesn't have anything to do with it. The question is, would our god be so cruel as to have a scum killer, vig, and serial killer at once? Unless somebody dies today as a poison victim, I'm still positive that the axe is the scum kill, and the trapper is either a vig or a serial killer, and Carly was the scum killer.
-
Fair enough, but I can't imagine a scum would choose clearing up a body over killing another townie.
-
I'm going to go ahead and assume Carly was the scum killer. Makes the most sense considering the lack of a scum kill tonight. Day Three and we're on a roll.

That looks complicated as hell, but interesting. The idea behind it is very original. I think you should change it a bit to make a bit more straightforward, though. For example, the non-elemental spell thing is a bit odd, my suggestion is that you should either drop it or make gems usable like any other Mage class. If you do allow the class to use gems, I think you should write in the battle style description that the Archivist is unable to use physical attacks, ala the Sage. The Master Spellbook thing is seriously creative. As for the rolls, though, they seem a bit confusing or hard to apply to battles for QMs. My main suggestion is to split them up depending on what action the Archivist uses. For example- 3. ENLIGHTENED HIT/DECIPHER - The Archivist hits the opponent with an elemental attack equal to their weapon power added to their level. They may choose to sacrifice ether to add damage to the attack. If the Archivist chose to read a scroll, the effect has a 2/3 chance of being dealt to the opponent. (Level 30 + WP 15 + 5 ether sacrificed = 50 elemental damage) 4. RECORDED ENLIGHTENED HIT/GREATER DECIPHER - The Archivist reads one of their recorded specials from their Master Spellbook at the cost of 5 ether and deals it to the target. If no specials have been recorded, the Archivist instead records the targeted enemy's special. If the Archivist chose to read a scroll, the effect has a 2/3 chance of being dealt to both the opponent and the following one listed in the enemy battle order. 5. SHIELD - Enlightened Assault - The Archivist applies a scroll effect to all enemies and deals elemental damage equal to weapon power. If the Archivist chose a scroll, that effect is used, and the element is chosen randomly. If the Archivist chose a gem, that element is used, and the scroll effect is chosen randomly. Does not deplete ether. And even then, it's a lot to keep track of. I think you might want to switch out Translation and the Enlightened Assault (sort of). Like, replace the Translation with a normal Great Spell, and replace Enlightened Assault with dealing a recorded enemy special. The Job Traits are all useful, but magic resistance is just a bit overpowered or open to interpretation. If you take my suggestion for using gems, perhaps you should consider changing it to Spellcasting. Just my thoughts.

Hey, it's our friendly neighborhood fishmonger. Atramor turns, the wicked flail swinging as he does so (McCafferey silently observing its movements), but merely sighs as he notes it's the young recruit. Then another, familiar figure bursts out of the nearby warehouse door, and he grins slightly upon recognizing the Sharkling. "Gurnam? This is your place? Ah, well, then I think ya' owe us." He waves the weapon towards the Metasimians, battered and unconscious. "I believe these apes were plannin' to ambush you, given what we overheard before we came in and beat the livin' hell outta them. You, or the recruit, though they mentioned a businessman, so I'd assume the former," he explains, nodding towards both Gurnam and Jenkins. "Are you the one he was s'post to be meetin', the one he's pickin' up a package from...?" -
Yaaaaaaaawwwwwwnnnnnnnn. That's my animal noise now. A lot of other hippos look like they yawn a lot. Shawna, you should make sure there's no seasoning on it before eating first. You could be biting into a tasteless tube of SPAM or an Italian sausage with a spiciness to rival that of the entire town's combined sex life. Now I've gotta go sanitize all the ale spigots, musical instruments, and some of Seamus' animal mounts before I catch a case of physcovenialmitosis. It's normally confined to the corpses of male walruses, but who knows how it's evolved.

It's really not. Weapon imbuement is so clunky (not in a bad way, exactly) that it's really annoying to balance out elemental weapons to the point where they'll be useful for the right occasions. And you always need a backup weapon if you have one, or you'll be useless against several types of opponents. Mages don't need to imbue anything, generally get first priority when a party comes across a gem, and have their weapons separate from their gems. Think about it, and don't use such a specific situation to reinforce your point. Mages can channel their gems through any weapon they wish, the gem isn't fused to the weapon. It's a pain to keep several weapons at their peak if you have them imbued. It took me a lot of calculations for a weapon element combination I could really put to use, not to mention several hundred gold. And now that I've come across better weapons, I'm going to have to pay just as much, if not more, to move them between weapons. It's not as easy as choosing a different gem and buying a few Tonics. And Rangers don't have access to Scrolls at all. It's not all numbers, there's a lot of other stuff to take into effect, and every class is going to be better than the other in some way. Mage's draw is powerful elemental attacks at the exchange of health. In most all circumstances, while Rangers do have more survivability, Mages do more damage. It's all a different manner of playing the game, each class has their drawbacks and advantages, you can't just say one class is better than the other, no matter how many calculations are made. There are so many unknowns that sometimes are dependent on the hero, not the class.

Yeah, it's only the first battle and I can tell the roleplaying this Quest's gonna be awesome. Both Boomingham and Ellaria are a lot more serious than I've seen so far.
