    Star Wars

Same here. I've seen them so much from such an early age I couldn't possibly recall the firs time I watched them.
  2. You can't buy shards, it's just a full piece. Also, if you've got a shield you like, Mythril can really beef up your defense, assuming you're going into an expert class that also uses them.
  3. Once out of the training room, Miderun made her way to the marketplace. Mhinak had left her a sum of gold, though she could make little of his reasoning behind leaving Heroica. There was also, to her initial surprise, a pile of Gold Bars that she had forgotten about. After selling those, she made her way to the artifact shop, briefly marveling in the variety of colorful, vibrant, and otherwise outright bizarre selection of clothing, selling off her Tricorne for 60 gold. blacksmith, handing over her Opal, Amethyst, and new Living Silver Greatsword, along with her Club, War Axe, Lucustoid Axe, and Axe. She couldn't bring herself to sell Serstyral. The dwarf worked his magic, melting the flimsier weapons down and forging the two gemstones into the pommel of the greatsword. When he pulled the faintly glowing weapon out of the forge, Miderun barely hesitated, taking the still-warm hilt of the weapon and hefting its weight easily. The metal for the other weapons more than paid for the upgrade, so Anwyl handed over 25 gold. Paying him 400 gold, she also had him upgrade her shield to SP: 10. (60+70+80+90+100) With her pack substantially lighter but her weapons that much stronger, she made the trek back to the hall.
  4. "I have seen many orcish priests debate before, yet their intensity was nothing compared to this," remarked Miderun, who had returned from the training hall and now pulled up a seat beside Vindsval. "Both you and Na'im are some of the deadliest healers I know of, Vindsval. I would almost wish to see a duel between the two of you but I feel as though people here would raise a storm over it." She turned and nodded to the pale, fanged cleric. She reminded him vividly of that creature she and her allies destroyed in that desert canyon. "Believe me, I have seen both in battle, and there is no undead that could stand before either. Zard caz ev arauz, kanvy-taro caz ev girahk. I am Miderun. Orocand," she elaborated, unsure just how intelligent it was. The last one was out of its mind. "What are you?"
  5. Miderun pushed open the doors to the training hall with more anticipation than she'd expected. Little expectations existed for training standards outside of Baltarok...but seeing as how this was Heroica, she had little doubt there would be an endless amount for her to learn. These thoughts bounced around in her head until she was standing face to face with a stern looking man in brilliant bronze armor. "Greetings. It seems you're in need of training, no?" She eagerly nodded. "Yes. I am-" "Miderun, yes. Not a soul passes into the training hall without me knowing their worth. And like many others, I believe that you are." He led the somewhat awestruck orc through the training grounds, passing various mutilated dummies and leftover angel dust. "So, have you determined what to train as? Raider, perhaps? Maybe Shaman, following in the footsteps of our own-" "No magic," she stated rather reflexively, stretching her fingers under her bandaged arm. "I thought, perhaps...I am....have been told, anyway...that I can be somewhat angry. A lot. Many things bother me in this mess called a 'Freeport'." "Hm. So I've heard. Then perhaps we should put it to better use." It took several long, brutal, and long hours before Miderun was able to do anything other than swing a weapon when attacking her foes, but eventually hefting a shield took very little effort at all thanks to the Fox. The extra bite to her aggressive tone didn't hurt either. She exited the training hall as a Berserker. 6. Miderun couldn't help but snicker a little bit. "I would be glad to join you again. I think some simple violence may be just what I need now. Strange only heroes can visit these hunting grounds, but ir dyruulo azh zor mez dizarko. Now, I hear there is some training I can do here. I want to see this Copper Fox for myself...I understand he has even trained the heroes of Baltarok themselves." Miderun finished off her drink and left for the training room.

    Star Wars

Already watched it once on Blu-ray today. Looks really great.
  8. "Of course," Miderun nodded towards the seat beside her, taking a draught of what looked like a wooden mug of grog. "Neither solution seems permanent enough to me." The orc shrugged.
  9. The orc sat down by Vindsval and his vampiric ally. "Right. It is good to see you, Vindsval. I feel as though I have not seen anything but elves in months..." "I would like nothing more." Miderun shifted the greatsword that was now slung across her back. "No doubt someone will need need something fixed sometime soon...hopefully it won't take as long as Spesiala," she added under her breath in a bit of a growl. Miderun snorted a bit as Germ barreled through his description of their escapades. "Basically that is true. We tried to fix things there, but it seems they've been holding their grudges for longer than Baltarok and the Kingdoms have even been around. Those sarlmyr are all mad."
  10. And I guess the main distinction is that they couldn't recruit roles. Thanks for a fun game MS, I certainly could've been more active but I've been a bit busy as of late. I had a good time, thank you for inviting me to play.
  11. They've shown up before. In fact, I think you guys missed one in Quest 114.
  12. Miderun nodded towards both of her friends as she stood. It was a truly surprising delight to not have to deal with an army of fools trying to kill eachother, if only for a brief while. So wrapped up in reveling in the brief quiet was she, Miderun didn't even notice when her path led directly past a rather bored rogue thief, knocking a few of his things to the ground. "Damn mate. I ain't even movin' - watch where you're goin', will ya'? Atramor set down his rum and was just in the middle of picking up the awkwardly sized greatsword he was lugging around when Miderun paused, eyeing the weapon and the shield it was slung to as the rogue picked them up. "Are you selling these?" Atramor shrugged, glancing from the gear to the orc for a bit before dropping both items into her arms instead, looking relieved to not be hauling them around any longer. "Six hundred gold for the lot." The young barbarian didn't even really think about it. Gold still had little meaning to her, even after years outside of Baltarok. She tossed the strange man a pouch of 600 coins, and left the saloon admiring the unused sheen of the Living Shield and Living Silver Greatsword.
  13. It better mean some freaking Wolfgang rep. It's pretty exciting to have the Hall about to be completely stuffed with heroes again. I expect a lot of chaotic and annoyingly philosophical discussion in the neat future. But hopefully also sign-ups.
  14. Miderun stepped into Heroica Hall after a lengthy absence. Her adventure in Spesiala had left a sour taste in her mouth - at least in terms of being able to change things in the ruinous kingdoms of men and elves. How anyone could possibly be so selfish and reckless was beyond her. Any attempt to try and assist the Orcish Liberation Movement was also met with resistance, and only one clear solution seemed helpful: she would have to join the Wolfgang to make any headway in this mess of a city. Entering the Hall to catch up with some allies, and potentially some extra training, seemed like a reasonable thing to do. But somehow her mood actually worsened, courtesy of what was posted up on the quest board. So it was she found herself considering a rare mug of alcohol when she noticed Vindsval speaking with some pale man reminding her of the Fenarians. The orc gave a short wave to the newly trained paladin, then turned her attention back to the weapon she was polishing, dissatisfied with its effectiveness.
  15. Miderun glared up at the queen as she spoke to Na'im, speaking only a few final words before turning her back on the star elf. "Belm canz dir zerbolo grol tan grauv, dir nulvohl azh dol ev zar dal canz dir cund. This is why 'nobles' fail." "That is true. Betrayal is the worst treachery one can commit. This is a lesson best learned by experience, unfortunately." Miderun took her Amethyst back from Elnath, glancing out a nearby window inside the lavish palace that she so desperately hated. The sprawling, homely wasteland that was Baltarok gnawed at her, knowing she was closer there than she had been in years. But as much as she disliked Eubric and the human world, there was simply too much to be fixed. Too much sense waiting to be knocked into the heads of fools, and too many villains Heroica had to deal with. Wondering briefly if she- if they had accomplished any of these things in Spesiala, at least for the future, she stepped into the portal. Thank you for the quest, PPJB. I will have my thoughts up in the QM Lounge eventually.
  16. Everyone gets 168 gold, except for Bobby, who gets 170.
  17. Just saw BvS. I'm speaking as someone who has never seen a full DC movie before, including Man of Steel.
  18. Equipment load is good for getting a few ideas, but ultimately it's not that hard to get new equipment suitable for the class you change to. Something that takes both gear and roleplay into mind is the role you'll be playing in combat: would your character spend a lot of time healing people if he was a Sage, or a Shaman in Torald's case? If you went Mystic Knight would he prepared to spend more time on the front lines? Atramor started as a Rogue, then went Witch, but ended up as one of the most effective tanks once he went Regulator, both for RP (and gearing) reasons, so that kind of thing is something to consider.
  19. My point is that ESB is widely considered to be the darker movie. One dip in tone doesn't set the standard for the rest of the series.
  20. Yeah, it looks great. Are you working with the same figure or do you have an army of Green Goblins at your disposal?
  21. You guys need to remember that the movie where Darth Vader cut off Luke's hand, Chewbacca was tortured, and Han Solo was sold to a gangster was followed by the movie that introduced Ewoks.
  22. Yes, but you shouldn't list what it's effective against. It can get confusing, because some weapons have that sort of thing built in without gems.
  23. I'm to blame at least a bit for how Baltarok played out, I was supposed to have a bit more of a substantial guest hosting but I was very busy at the time and didn't really have the time to drum up a relevant encounter. Excellent quest Zepher, it was really great to see all this locations and characters revisited in such a major way. I wish I knew what was going on. I am curious about this huge threat.
  24. Of course. I err more towards the hardcore, exclusively mature and serious side of colorful plastic building toys.
  25. Then go ahead and vote for yourself... Vote: Walter Williams (jluck). I've trusted Daniel thus far, and it's probably best to get the vanillas out of the way just to be sure we're not on a witch hunt in looking for a mole inside the block.
