  1. +1 WP from Orokuul. Miderun stomps over the carapace of the ant she killed and moves on to slash Battle Ant 1 from the front row.
  2. "Lemme think. Killed three of 'em. One of 'em had taken part of Mephisto's soul. Killed him too. One of 'em ate the souls of the dead ones and ran off. One of 'em sacrificed an old man and tried to become a goddess." "So, no, they didn't really help us a lot on our mission." "Sounds pretty much like a demon. Funny how the most capable enemies are also the most delusional. Makes thing easier, I s'pose. They act so surprised when ya' beat 'em back to Azazot." Sign-Ups for Goliath, Level 1 Barbarian (Goliath) Throlar Wineghlim, Level 16 Warden (Lord Duvors) Lord Lawrence Boomingham, Level 36.25 Vindicator (Zepher) Skrall, Level 43.4 Hunter (Waterbrick Down) Sign-ups will remain open for the time being.
  3. Miderun growls, kicking the flaming ant away from her shield and repeating her attack on it.
  4. "Not bad. Met my own queen, killed a lot of demons, set some dwarves straight....the usual kinda stuff, I s'pose." "Aye. I think there's this bastard headed there that needs a good long beatin'. Expectin' a lot more demons there, maybe even an archdemon. No coincidence he was in Azzurat when two of 'em woke up...and I think the Sand Queen agrees." "Can't say I'm surprised. A lotta very different paths seem to lead to this place. Like I said...fortune and glory, I guess." Atramor shrugged and smirked, sipping whatever drink Hybros carried over. He didn't seem to acknowledge what it even was. "Chaomancers, eh? Had my fair share of those years ago..."
  5. That is perfect, down to the last detail and even the camera angle.
  6. I don't think he meant that literally.
  7. I should be up 1 WP and 1 SP. Miderun destroys the Rat King in one fell swing, she pulling back her blade after its very first attack, quite satisfied with its effects. With a yell, she swings it back around at Battle Ant 3 from the front row.
  8. Replacing a player is a completely different situation. I was just pointing it out for the future, I didn't expect this to be something that could be changed immediately.
  9. As they should be, this just feels messy to me. That's just my opinion anyway.
  10. Joining a day late is different, and Zepher was letting anyone who signed up for Quest 53 join in anyway. Joining a quest more than a month after it started, with battles completed, seems like cheating, especially considering both heroes were still in the middle of their respective quests when sign-ups closed. Sign-ups exist for a reason. It makes things straightforward, nobody feels slighted and there's no favoritism simply because there are requirements that are adhered to when they close. Letting certain heroes hop on partway into a quest doesn't sit right for a whole lot of reasons. There's a process and it doesn't seem right that certain heroes don't have to go through it.
  11. I just want to say I am absolutely opposed to the idea that anyone can get around sign-ups and jump in mid-quest. I really really don't like the precedent this sets.
  12. "Heh, no, no. Never had a ship of my own. Hell, never even had an ounce of authority on the ship I worked on. I just got sick'a the aimless piracy. I'd been at it for nearly ten years when I called it quits. Took up as a thief in the Low Kingdoms for a while, put my badass lockpicking skills to use, then, well. Ya'know." Atramor couldn't help but grin a bit. "Just followed the trail fortune and glory right back to this Hall."
  13. And 68 additional health??
  14. "Let me go first, I may kill that thing in a single blow," says Miderun, as she levers a fierce two-handed swing at the Rat King from the front row. Asphalt, positive effects are things like Encouraged, Hastened, and Lucky, all of the 'effects' listed in our stats that aren't immunities should still be there, they're just for convenience. Also, I notice I forgot to take the 3 out of my calculated power.
  15. I just traded my Vest of Faded Trials for a Redhawk Helmet (which I now have equipped in place of the Orcish Gauntlets). "And where is this warrior?" questioned Miderun, who had just now arrived behind the rest of the party, Orokuul balanced on her shoulder. Her new helmet was jammed on over her head as she looked around the Fields. "The Windmill sounds fine to me, Kiray can lead the party this time. Perhaps we take on the Debuffed challenge? We don't have very many immunities that would come in handy anyhow."
  16. Miderun picked up the helmet and inspected it closely, impressed. "It was good to meet you too, Keldrtirn. Thanks fo-" she looked up again, only to see Boomingham gone, vanished into the crowd of other heroes in the Hall. With a shrug, and a glance at the questboard, she set out for the Fields of Glory, trudging through a light drizzle outside. "Goetia? Nope. Not even sure what the place is like.Only just got back from the local dwarven kingdom, myself. I have been to both Dastan and Xu, though. Hope things are alright in both of 'em. The status quo tends to, er, tilt a bit once I'm gone. Lemme thing. Grew up in Dreida Bay, on the Crystalline Sea for the most part. Took my craft to the Low Kingdoms, then found my way to Heroica. Can barely keep straight all the places I've been while I've worked here..." Atramor set down the rum he was sipping with a grin as he saw the grizzled old ex-paladin approach. "Boomin'ham. Been a good long time ya' old bastard. The whole world's all corruption and demons, hope ya've been killin' your fair share. Damn, it's been a while - when was the last time I saw ya', Strivvi?"
  17. I'm really just making a point about consistency. This is why you have to be careful trying to frame threats like this: I doubt anyone is Eubric is ever going to reference this in the future outside of quests to which it is relevant, despite the fact that everyone in Quest 147 is acting like it's the end of the world.
  18. Que my next party leaving Eubric for their quest...
  19. From what I know regarding that, that is some super selective blame. Also, awesome.
  20. Well it sounds like you need to host a quest. A Wolfgang quest. You should host a Wolfgang quest. Anyone, damn it.
  21. Atramor whips his head around just in time to catch a glimpse of the nervous, familiar looking assistant run out of the hall. He grins a bit, sipping his rum, turning to idly watch what seems like a legion of former partymates lounge around the Hall. The place was more alive now than it had been in what felt like years.
  22. Atramor frowned and shrugged. "Will do, mate." "That's the thing. Byblos can use his copy of the book to really kill 'em, or so he says. Probably why he's comin' along too. But there was one more thing..." Atramor leaned back in his seat, taking one last moment before diving back into his rum. "There was a man in the desert, with a wide-brimmed hat, bein' hunted by a former ally of ours. After the quest, he used our portal to go back to Eubric ahead of us. Killed a priest. The Sand Queen told us we wouldn't find him again until the incident in Goetia." "Nobody could've survived in that sand-ridden hell for long unless they really knew what they were doin'. He was up to somethin' in Azzurat. And mark my words, he has something to do with this mess in Goetia. Worst case scenario? He's got his own book." Miderun nods. "Too clumsy for me. You can have it if you like. Tarok ezka dir dyruul."
  23. -Come up with quest idea -Sit on quest idea -Detail quest idea -Postpone quest idea -Come up with a completely different quest idea -Quest -Use original quest idea a year or two later
  24. "Gone. Ran off after a long bout in the Fields. She seemed to think it was final. Sure as hell hope so. Yaknow, I never did question just how an ordinary chicken could live so long when I was younger. In either case, I've got a much more useful....where'd he get off to..." Atramor looked around and spotted Twitzle the canary nesting in a rafter. "Oh. Well, there ya' go." He raised an eyebrow at Hybros' deep concern. "Ya' seem awfully anxious about just one demon. But I guess they can mess ya' up." The rogue thief fell into thoughtful silence briefly before glancing out the window, his hand brushing the humming hilt of the Pheles Kris. "Aye, that's the book I mean. Went out to Azzurat with Byblos. Sand Queen's husband had a copy of his own, and sunk his kingdom in a desert full of demons. I damn near killed the ape when the book took him, but he...'mastered' it and banished one of the archdemons for good, seems like. Naamah. Fought Airman, too, plus whatever was left of Mephisto's soul a few years back. One of 'em, nothin' that fits." He pulled a volume from some kind of demonology study out of his coat, laying it on the table. A few scattered bookmarks were poking out of it. Atramor ran one finger through them. "'Sloth', I think. Laziness. Boredom. Unless he's been hangin' around me lately, can't really guess where he is. Few people seem to think it's off buried underground or at the bottom of the ocean." He looked plenty more driven than he had a few minutes ago. "That's four. There's also one floatin' 'round Eubric. Another in Dastan. Looks like other heroes bumped into 'em. Dunno why the Veterans don't just round us up and send us after 'em. And, ah...also...." Atramor reached for the book again, then decided otherwise, looking Hybros in the eye. "...Ya' remember our first job? In that damn Shadeaux warehouse, with Boomin'ham? There was a bottle. Of somethin'. Been pokin' 'round a bit. I think that might've been one of 'em too. Abraxas. Friend of mine used to yammer on 'bout him all the time. If it was him, then, well. It's a damn thing good thing we're gettin' out there to clean all this mess up."
