  3. Interesting...the Shield (and the Fighter's, too) could use a buff, and the way to access the class is just weird, but other than, it's pretty cool and well-balanced.
  4. Agreed, his humor is a blend of him not understanding humans, and then his casual disregard for most of their lives. Light-hearted (to him) but also dark.
  5. The King is Enamored with me, Russel's Damage shouldn't apply...unless it doesn't count because he's not targeting me especially. Atramor falls to one knee, but catches himself before falling completely, pushing himself to his feet, his cloak drenched in blood. Whatever force was bolstering his strength was failing...but the force didn't see it that way, it seemed, as the whispers that'd been sitting in the back of his head since he got the Pheles Rod started to form words, cold and venomous. He sputtered for a moment, unable to respond, then managed to speak - or, think, to put it more accurately - to...it. <'You can talk? Damn, Hybros was right...you're...what was it? A third form of Mephisto? My only weakness is wielding you, you've gotten defeated twice by heroes, I was there to see at least one of your deaths. I get enough backtalk from my chicken, I don't need it from my damn staff too, so I'd appreciate it if you'd keep it to yourself and work.'> He came out of the 'conversation' a little more annoyed than he liked. He chose to focus it on Althior, but not without reason. "Look, Corpse King, get your head out of your megablocks - or Finnegan's, or your undead's, whoever's is shoved up there - and hit the damn King, not his guard!" Atramor spat at the ground (it turned out to be mostly blood) and took a second to heal himself in the back row.

The hobgoblin just stares at Sylph's words. "Go ahead, go ahead....always surprises me how much worse your luck can get, my friend, eh? Oh, I'm Melvin, by the way, and this is Knife-Tongue....for reasons that'll become....eh, clear enough." Having confirmed Nessa's still alive, Knife-Tongue stands. "Wha 'o 'ou wamf a mow?"
  7. Zasies rolls her eyes, and slings Nessa over her shoulder effortlessly. "I have a healer friend too. He could help with khrnmalv here." She exits the bar, the party close at her heels. It's about midafternoon as the heroes walk through Eubric, the streets fully awake with all manner of people and creatures going about their business. She's heading southeast, and after a few minutes, it becomes obvious why; the Selkreeth has led them to the docks. She strides down one of the piers, up a gangplank, and onto an aged-looking brig, though the stark white paint says otherwise. Zasies drops Nessa unceremoniously, the elven ranger landing with a thump on the deck, and then leans against the railing, next to a wicked-looking mace. A hobgoblin - his coat, as promised, looking tattered and blue - looks up at the newcomers, while the dwarf blinks at them, halting right in the middle of a drink. "Here we are." The hobgoblin looks down at the motionless Nessa in horror. "Fafief! Wha haf ou ome?? Illwia faif 'mo mow bawfighf!' Oh Awok, ook' a af fhe poow fig..." The incomprehensible greenskin kneels down to Nessa, checking for signs of life. The dwarf looks from Zasies, to the downed elf, to the standing heroes. "...Oi. Ehh...ye'll have to forgive Zasies, lass is a bit..." "A bit what?" "...Eager....for a fight." "....True enough, hah. But she's not my fault." "Then, eh....who're yer friends?" He looks up at the heroes, setting aside his drink for a moment.
  8. Exactly. Just because they sometimes stray from those goals, it doesn't mean they can't be Good in general.
  9. The Houses as a complete whole can't be considered anything, there's too much going on. As for each one, I disagree. The Bonapartes try to keep the peace around the seas. The Ziegfrieds are trying to hold back a demonic threat, I guess. Just because heroes get a more complete view of things and the unfortunate ripples and side effects the factions create doesn't mean they don't have Good intentions.
  10. In Guts' eyes, maybe. Just because the politics in Eubric are sort of broken doesn't mean anyone who's part of a house is automatically not Good. That's pretty much how it looks to me, too.
  11. If the Wolfgang are Chaotic Evil, why are they even trying to form a house and seize power to create a Eubric where everyone's equal? That's at least Neutral. (in terms of Chaotic and Lawful) Also, Ziegfrieds are definitely Chaotic Good.
  12. The Wolfgang as it stands (I stress that, I know things will be changing drastically soon enough) I think is more capitalism, it's an every-man-for-himself group. Sure they've all been brought under Ulric, but he hasn't pulled anything huge yet (up until the Foundation Ball) using them as a group. But I'm comparing to the Town Guard, not the Houses, so they're somewhere in the middle, at least, until they become a House themselves.

  15. That it is. Communism versus capitalism, order versus chaos, Town Guard verses Wolfgang (for the moment, at least). A lot of the bigger plots like these at least have it as an aspect of the conflict between factions.

Dreyrugr continues skulking around. Erik misses his swing. Nessa, however, takes careful aim, and fires three devastating bolts in quick succession - each one carves a clean chunk out of her shoulder. Again, no internal injuries seem to be visible, just more orange flesh. Sylph didn't both taking note of it. He fired one last arrow right into the Selkreeth's head, sending her reeling back against the counter. THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS! The enemies drops nothing, re:Dreyrugr. Everyone gains a half a level, except for Sylph, who gains a third. Zasies stands, plucking Sylph's arrow from between her eyes and handing it back to the Druid, with a laugh. "HAHA! Good fight. Not as weak as you look. I can take you to the blue one when ready." Atramor doesn't wait to see whether the King finished his knighting or not, taking another swing at him from the front row - but if he's unable, he'll instead swap the Magic Mirror with the Amulet of the Court from the back.

  20. Didn't notice Nurture cured it. But Enamored usually only lasts three rounds, unless you meant it permanently in this case.
  21. I should still be Enamored with the King for a round, as should he with me. Atramor took a one-handed swing at the King's Ghost in the front row, and curled his free hand into a fist, ready to deal with the Magician and the Head Guard. "I've got these two. Don't target them."
  22. "Alright, we're almost done here. Russel, catch," remarked Atramor, tossing the swashbuckling crab the Rebel's Longsword in the front row. "Lay off the guard and the wizard, I can take them. Now it's just a matter of takin' down the king."
  23. All scrolls (but Confusion) have a 50/50 chance of success, I thought. The murder was, let's say, a week ago. Dreyrugr takes cover, and Nessa covers him, firing a bolt deep into Zasies' shoulder. Surprisingly, no blood is visible, and she tugs it out without a second thought. Rather than a bleeding puncture wound, there's just a hollow mark where the bolt landed.
