  1. I've always the picture of High Kingdoms as, like Sandy said, overall better situated than the low, with castles and walls and such, while the Low Kingdoms were all about smaller towns and villages with maybe a single keep per 'kingdom' with land divided generously between territories rather than huge stone-built cities, with everyone struggling to get more land. Anyone else notice how all the best mages come from places with giant cities sunken underneath water/sand/black magic...?
  2. Tesni was using Cysgodion, so damage should be 44 x 3 = 88, which means Magical Guard is KO'd, and we should all be up 3 ether. "Alright, mates, we're doin'-" Atramor suddenly felt himself by barraged by attacks on all angles. He pushed his way out of the crowd with a lot more wounds than before, though luckily the resident druid covered the worst of it. "Oof....thanks, Ellaria. Well, alright, like I said, we're doin' fine. Let's try and get that Guard Master next. Tesni, Russel, you're up front on him...Pigley, take Russel around for a pass at Guard B, too." He pointed out the targets, and took a swing at Guard B from the back row. Battle Order >Ellaria heals Atramor - Russel v. Guard B - Russel v. Guard Master - Tesni v. Guard Master - >Althior v. Althior's undead >Atramor v. Guard B -
  3. All that was obvious to Nessa was the Mulled Wine in the Captain's hand and her things on the coat rack. "Unfortunately, no. Ever since a particularly dodgy delivery a few months back we've had a lot of trouble finding work." "Yes, I was just-" The necromancer is interrupted by a violently loud boom that rattles the heroes' eardrums, followed by an enormously loud splash. Without hesitation, the captain grabs her things and exits onto the deck, muttering curses the whole while. Jules limps out after her. The heroes poke their heads outside as well. There, they see a disconcerting sight - a squad of Bonapartes is standing stiffly in position on the pier leading up to the ship. "Captain and crew of the Magpie - surrender your weapons to us and exit the vessel quietly with your hands up," orders a rather oddly-dressed cadet commandingly. "We, patrolmen of the great Bonapartes and the truest law enforcement on the harbor, have a war-" "Cadet Morgan!" The young soldier is stopped dead mid-sentence, her obvious enjoyment withering up as she turns to face the man awkwardly. "....Yes, sir?" "What did I tell you about monologuing our importance to Eubric?" "....That it's your job, sir?" "Hmph, good." The experience-looking leader of the squad clears his throat. "Captain and crew of the Magpie - surrender your weapons to us and exit the vessel quietly with your hands up. We have a warrant for your arrest and the seizure of your vessel and all property pending a hearing to be scheduled during your holding-" "What? Never understood why humans use fancy words." "He says he's going to try and disarm us, take our stuff, and give us to the Bonaparte authority," explains the Captain with faux-terror. "I-" "Yes, right, glory to the Bonapartes, rulers of the seas, get off of or we're coming aboard, yadda yadda....you can save it, Sergeant, this is the third time you've been here over the past two months. I think you have a pretty good idea of what my response is gonna be, too. I thought I've been clear enough in the past -" she raises her hand high. "- the stick up your megablocks must be less than this tall to get on my ship." The Bonaparte squad look about ready to attack, as does Zasies, and Jules looks prepared as well. The Captain and the sergeant were meeting eachother's gaze, one with silent frustration, the other with smug satisfaction. What will the party do?
  4. At least have Sandy do it if you have any photos taken of him....he looks naked without his shield.
  5. Guard C doesn't deal free hits, he's Slowed. "Keep it up, everyone. Tesni, I suggest ya' help out with that Magical Guard and give Cysgodion a turn. Pigley, see if ya' can't take Russel for a second pass at that guard." Atramor continued his assault. Battle Order Tesni v. Magical Guard - Russel v. Magical Guard - Russel v. Magical Guard - Althior Althior's undead >Atramor v. Guard Master - Ellaria v.
  6. He yells at Atramor for everything...
  7. "Hmph. Could've sworn I hired her as our muscle, not our greeter...I don't know any Rorik, and not much about the Blue Assassins, beyond that they're supposedly a pain in the megablocks to anyone they're hunting." "The Blue Assassins...?" repeats Jules. "Hm." Captain Illdria strides around the desk, wine glass still in hand. "Watch it, girl. Helping Heroica - don't try and hide it, it's damn obvious enough by your determination (and dysfunction, I might add) - find a killer is all well and good, but if you're going to insult me on my ship, you'd best pray to your elven gods to grant you sanity in the afterlife. Got it?" she narrows her eyes at the ranger. "I send the crew off to the Gaargoyle every now and again to look for contracts, that's what Knife-Tongue's been doing most of the day. Can't say I've heard anything about a murder there."
  8. Make his a rum, he hates that stuff. But that is a pretty cool request.
  9. I'd like one of Atramor passed out in a pile of bottles in the Saloon with McCafferey sitting on a nearby table, please. Also, it'd be really cool if you could get the the first heroes (Docken, Christopher, Tesni, Tomas, Jess, Atramor, Rufindel, Alexis, Boomingham, Hybros, Eric, Nyx, Sylph, Cronk, Namyyra, and Althior) grouped around the Quest board.
  10. The problem is, it's not just a plain Damage roll; Counter replaces Miss, not Damage. So if it were redirected to Atramor, that'd be a roll of Poison, which I can't really do anything with since it's an offensive attack.
  11. "Good work, mates - although I swear I said for someone to pin down the Door Keeper," grumbled Atramor. "Whatever. Russel, join Ellaria in attacking the Magical Guard, front row. Tesni, repeat your action." The witch once again swung the Pheles Rod at the Guard Master from the back row. Battle Order Tesni v. Guard A - Russel v. Magical Guard - Althior Althior's undead Atramor v. Guard Master - Ellaria v. Magical Guard -
  12. The party heads towards the captain's cabin, lead by a spontaneously enraged Nessa. They can hear quiet voices from within. "-ling you, I am being sought out." "Why? You said your cut your ties with them as cleanly as you did your hand. Or am I mistaken?" "They did not let me leave willingly, I assure you. But I can feel at least one is, or...was, in Eubric." "Was?" "The presence has...lessened, as recently as two hours ago." "Then I don't se-" The door swings open. Inside is an unlikely duo - a wizened, but disfigured necromancer across from a shrewd-looking, well dressed woman. The latter raises her eyebrow at the party. "May I ask why and how in the names of Neron and Neredice the hell you seem to be breaking into my ship?" she remarks immediately, taking a sip of wine. The mage just remains silently staring at the party.
  13. You forgot to add last battle's loot. Also, your idea of a Rock/Aquatic type monster is really weird, I gotta say. But we can work with that. "This ain't exactly how I remember the play....Tesni, serve up some-" Atramor stopped dead. "-...er.... just hit Pigley (Guard A), front row, with that sawblade of yours. Russel, go for Guard B, right up front with Conspirator. Althior, get your undead movin' to make sure the Door Keep's not dealin' any free hits, but don't bother with Guard C, he's too slow to do anything anyway. Ellaria, I could use some more Inspiration, if ya' don't mind." When he'd finished unconsciously ordering his party around, Atramor whirled the Pheles Rod at the Guard Master from the back row. Battle Order Ellaria Atramor v. Guard Master Russel v. Guard B Althior Althior's undead Tesni v. Guard A
  14. Atramor tries to tug open the gate.
  15. "Af Mewvim faif, we wewe wookim fow wowk. Afwaif I onm'f ow amy Fofia." "Eh, the sort of thing happens all the time. We're a bit of a varied crew, if ye haven't noticed. A lot of the human-exclusive merchants don't want people like us to ship for 'em." "I can jump." "So can I, just...not as far as ye taller folk, heh." "I'm am okay jumpew." "Who? You asked for blue coat orc, this is blue coat orc," repeated Zasies, frustrated, grabbing Knife-Tongue's shoulder and shaking him to emphasize her point. "Assassins? Jules might know something of the sort, but no promises..."
  16. Atramor nodded in thanks, sheathing the dagger in his belt and slinging the shield across his back. He'd figure out how to use the thing eventually. "Aye, I'm ready for...what was it, Act IV?"
  17. That is just awesome.
  18. You're assuming way too much, of course none of that's true. I'm just saying that as the description of Fragile is 'takes double damage', I'm assume poison damage is no exception.
  19. That's how it's always been run for me.
  20. A few days ago. "Eh, sure, I suppose. Ah, well, most of the crew - that is, me, Knife-tongue and Zasies - we head into the inns and taverns from time to time to try and get shipping contracts. Knife and Zasies went earlier today to meet a potential customer, but he never showed, so Knife just came back here while Zasies stayed for a drink. Captain knows about, she's the one who sends us out to do it." "Omgue, fir. My mame, a 'eaf mow, if Mife-Omgue. I havem'f beem im fhaf ofem I'm afwaif, bu yef, I have beem a few imef ovew fhe paf week. Afwaif I 'om'f 'ow amy Wowik, eifer." "Eh?" "Said it'd be easier to kill her...calm down, khrnmalv. All friends here. Don't want to have to throw you off ship."
  21. The information Johnny had was....about what Atramor expected. XX and Zane didn't seem the type of people to make their plans obvious to anyone. "Aye, go upstairs, grab Phillip, and take him up into the main theater, we've gotta get everyone else outta here, no good tryin' to get him to fight anyway, he'll just use it as a chance to run off," the witch grumbled.
  22. "You're still alive, so I'm sure ya' can figure out Wren's dead," stated Atramor bluntly. "We're under the theater now, somethin' to do with the curse, I dunno. How'd ya' end up in Bric'lin? Another opportunity to save hundreds crop up overseas and scare ya' 'back to Uland?"
  23. I'm no longer Inspired, so I'm back at 94 health. Atramor didn't bother responding to the demon, taking a moment to heal himself to full health. He then took a moment to pass out the loot from last battle. The Royal Dagger and 50 gold went to Althior, the Rebel's Dagger and 75 gold (as well as the Magic Mirror) was handed to Tesni, 100 gold went to Ellaria, and Atramor kept the remaining 45 gold for himself. He then slid the Amulet of the Court back around his neck. "'Ya can hang onto that longsword for the time being, Russel, I'll have it back once we mop up the theater, though. And if ya' don't mind, Ellaria, I like the look of that shield."
  24. "This orange thing has been on crew for six months, monk." "I'm a hobgobwim, fir, amb have beem wokim om fhe Magpie fow awoum fhwee yeawf mow." "I suppose, if ye needed to."
  25. "Eh, no. That'd be Illdria, she's down in her cabin, talking with Jules." "We need Jules, to heal this one." Zasies nudged Nessa with her foot. Melvin frowned. "Jules ain't a healer, Zasies. He's a necromancer." "Oh. We kill her first?" ".......Err.......I was thinking we just wait for her to wake up." "Bah. Magic never around when you need it."
