  1. Isn't Special Guard specifically for negative effects?
  2. Those are infinitely more rare, however. It's common practice to focus on multiple weapons. I have two very useful ones. My point is that as a very new player the odds are extremely good that you'll find a better (statistically, anyway) weapon than your garden variety store-bought one. Off the top of my head only Eric (he poured all his money and gems into it) and Ellaria (who isn't a weapon-focused class anyway and lucked out on a rare weapon enhancement) still use their original weapons.
  3. You wouldn't do as well as you could if you were an Assassin by using throwing weapons. If you're adamant about sticking to the throwing cards (you'd be missing out on some actual effect-dealing weapons) I would actually recommend Raider, or perhaps Black Knight. Classes also don't change because one person wants it. I think the idea behind Dragoon is a typical lance-wielding horseman taken to the next level.
  4. I believe you can change it once a year when you become a Knight (500 posts).
  5. Miderun repeats.
  6. I've had way worse luck before.
  7. Those are quotes from day one, I'm just clarifying the time frame in which he posted them.
  8. You haven't taken our Remedies. Miderun twirled her club and swung sideways at Colored Man II from the front row again now that her head had cleared up.
  9. Neither. I'm almost always here and always reading. I guess I could post some meaningless fluff and look more active if it bothers you so much. If I have something to add or respond to then I respond to it. I don't post unless I've got something with a little substance to say. I'd ask you to consider trying it but you'd probably get killed off for inactivity. Hang on, let me dig up that carefully constructed argument of yours and give me a couple minutes to get my thoughts together and write up a response. I'm unusually busy. That includes looking through day one like I mentioned. Incidentally, I found some stuff there. Stating the obvious, cautious metagaming (not to say that's immediately a bad thing), reasonable vote. More metagaming, but implying it's the only reason he's voting for Monty rather than Malcom? Defending his vote against Monty because Monty was calling someone quiet out and stating the obvious to try and appear active. Sounds great on paper, except now Boris is calling someone quiet out and stating the obvious to try and appear active. Three hours left in the day and now Boris thinks Jerry is innocent. Two hours left in the day and now Boris is really thinking Monty is scummier than Jerry. He also thinks townies try to make themselves look active and scum try to catapult themselves to guaranteed town status by also being active. What the hell is going through your head?? If activity (or at the bare minimum the appearance thereof) is so crucial to being townie why are you so godawful at it? Vote: Boris Benson (Bob). Thanks for the prod though.
  10. I've been talking. Not so much here though. I don't count you among those I townread. What happened to your suspicions about Malcolm? You've been talking about nothing but Monty, but now that he's been investigated as town you don't even bring up the only other person you've even mentioned over the course of two days? You're in the same 'generic, stating-the-obvious posting' boat as Edward. I haven't paid much attention since you you're typically this useless when you're town, but this is a small game and others at least have a little credibility based on what they've been saying.
  11. I'm busy looking through day one. Personally, I want to look at Ed. His posts are reasonable but amount to summaries of what other people have said followed by a vote for arguably the 'obvious' lynch of the day. I would bet that if we start voting Monty instead of Malcolm - although I don't really care to see either lynched based on some conversations - he would change his vote without a second thought. Jerry seemed suspect of him, Spencer and I, and though I think it seems to be generally acknowledged both Spencer and I townlean (is that the word we're using now instead of read?) I think he may have been right on in suspecting Ed. He's one of the more quiet players and doesn't really seem to add anything beyond a vote.
  12. Atramor nodded and signed Dyric onto Quest 112 with his party.
  13. It's not that simple. Whenever your reputation goes up for the Hinckwells, your Shadeuax reputation decreases by 1, but the minimum is at 0. So Nerwen would have Good reputation with both factions. It's possible to have Great reputation with the Hinckwells and Good reputation with the Shadeuax at the same time if you're dedicated enough.
  14. "Try hitchin' a ride on a different party then. Sorry mate, we're killin' a pirate, not payin' debts, and we need experience for that." Atramor nodded in greeting to Dyric. "Good to see ya' again mate. Been well enough. Seems like years since we took on Wren. Been all over the place gettin' stuff done since then. Bric'lin, Xu, Azzurat, Strivvi. Think we went to a different plane of existence in my last quest." The regulator chuckled and shrugged. "Damn, sounds way more impressive than it felt like. So, ya' up for takin' out this pirate bastard?"
  15. Atramor blinks at the dwarf critically. "I dunno, mate. I'm more than capable of soakin' up damage. I think we'd need someone with a bit more experience."
  16. Atramor tilted his hat to both Pretzel and Namyrra, signing the three of them onto Quest 112 with himself as the party leader. "Good, I've seen both of ya' in action enough to know we'd make a hell of a team. All we need is one more then."
  17. "Perhaps you'd like to Remedy Bobby, Vindsval. He doesn't have one of his own and we can't risk him attacking one of us."
  18. Miderun narrowed her eyes, struggling to focus on the colorless corpses. "Di azh kah, sarl uzard...," she grumbled under her breath as she downed a Remedy from the back row.
  19. Atramor returned to the hall after dropping off a brief letter to the Ji Pei palace. With luck they'd take custody of the planes of holding. If not, well. People needed to start taking care of their own damn weapons anyway. Either way, the issue of the undead had been solved. The regulator adjusted his hat and went to go check the quest board as McCafferey went off to go peck at some food crumbs in the saloon. Pirates again. He knew how to kill pirates. But he'd need a party. "Any tough heroes around for this pirate thing?" he asked loudly, jerking his head towards the quest board.
  20. I think he would've been fine with us killing Fervent, but Pretzel was actively negotiating with him... I really enjoyed the quest. It was a short one regardless of that two week break in the middle - a lot of my recent quests have been marathons and it was really cool to go on another short one. And it was a WBD quest to boot. The pacing was excellent. As usual, your puzzles were great. I wish I could have more of them but it's difficult to figure out where to start. The battles were relatively simple, and if it weren't for that bomb the final one would've been plenty more difficult. The NPC interactions were pretty good, but I can see where you're coming from with some of them blending into the background. I'm totally going to be using the Mob concept in the future. The final choice was enjoyable. I think betraying Alistair and the necromancers was pretty difficult for Atramor, but in the end having a chance to solve a problem like this permanently is just too much to resist. It was a well-varied party to lead. Thalion was kind of the voice of reason here. Heckz is a great character to observe even if interacting him is just nauseating for the character. And of course Pretzel was Pretzel - I got the feeling he didn't like siding with either group of necromancers in the end. The sets were fine in my opinion. Very clean. And your fig designs were as usual excellent. Overall, I had a lot of fun.
  21. Nice. I was getting suspicious of Adrienne. Looks like our vigilante knows what he's doing. Unfortunate about Jerry though.
  22. I think this is why the subforum headings really need to be updated. EB does a good job with the exceptions - tossing PotC into Pirates and LotR into History to give the fans there something to discuss. They just need to be compiled somewhere.
  23. "Angry enough?" remarked Miderun as she violently bludgeoned the enemy party. She pulled her club out of the monk's shattered head, swinging at Colorless Man II from the front row instead.
  24. "My 'crazy words' are from a different language. Yours sound almost Common, but are generally incomprehensible anyway..." Miderun shook her head. "Look, just keep stabbing that monk and we won't have any problems, alright?"
  25. "...I mean fine as relative to how Bobby usually is, not compared to a normal person."
