Gotcha, thanks for clarifying. I've not played here much -
Mafia Sunset - Day 2: Deus Ex Machina
jluck replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
From the rules on page 1: or]Third Parties have their own win conditions, which are outlined in their role PMs. Seems like there is at least a strong possibility for third parties. Either way, finding a not Malone can only be beneficial. -

Well done! This is the first big break and paired with voting patterns could be huge! One question: does not Malone guarantee FBI or could it be a 3rd party? -

Mafia Sunset - Day 2: Deus Ex Machina

It appears Speedy has become our checkpoint for info. As to Calvin, I have the same thoughts on him as with many players, I'd just like to hear more. A quiet board benefits the scum, as it's easier to hide. Hopefully day 2 yields much more beneficial conversation. -

Well that was an odd ending to a day... If Speedy is being honest, then the vote change is explained. Also, the revealed votes from yesterday could give us some leads. I agree that it seems odd that there was no night action though, maybe a block occurred? -
Mafia Sunset - Day 1: The Beginning
jluck replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Wow. I refused to bandwagon Alan, who is now believed to be town, and I look suspicious?! Then I vote for someone of whom I am suspicious, providing my logic mind you, and others have since then also agreed with me, and yet you think it's scummy of me not to bandwagon. I repeat, wow. I may or may not be right, I have no special info, but I bandwagon vote provides very little data and is often a way for scum to hide. I go out on a limb by not following the crowd, and instead going with what I see. I am still laughing when I read your statement, "Why are you so against voting for the main suspects, Juan?" Anyway, if I'm off base I'd be more than willing to listen to a GOOD explanation as to why, otherwise, I'm sticking to my position and not chasing every whim that blows across my screen. -
Mafia Sunset - Day 1: The Beginning
jluck replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ok so I switched to voting for Mei. Being the first day I know the evidence is thin wherever we look. I never jumped on the Alan bandwagon, seemed to, shall I say, obvious. But it appears my initial voting instinct was off as well. Which brings me to Mei. Her play early on was sporadic, with nothing to say other than to vote for annoying people, which I just don't see as a good justification for a vote. She contributed nothing through the first three pages. I am likely completely off base, but I'm going with it and since Da-Shan having opened this up, I felt I could be more open without being secretly ganged up on. As a side note, this open vote is going to yield piles of interesting data! -

Yep, I've changed my vote. I'll explain as soon as I'm done driving and have time to type -

Duly noted, I have limited game experience and was playing on what little I've seen, but this is definitely great advice. -

Thank you for your honesty, and complements to the host for this neat twist. With this new info I will be researching my vote and changing most likely. My initial vote was based on Da-Shan's similarity to a scum player in a previous game who came out early a a front runner in the conversation and used that position to control the game, but this reveal changes all of that. This is interesting... -
Mafia Sunset - Day 1: The Beginning
jluck replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Morning, I went back through the posts to see who we've been hearing from and here's what I found (I didn't recheck my numbers, but everything should be at least close) Bebe*8 Fritz*2 Benito*5 Calvin*2 De Shan*19 Alan*18 Juan*6 Jasper*5 Abbot*3 Miguel*2 Mie*7 Katalina Tiffany*16 Paco Notice we've only heard from Paco and katalina once and Calvin, Fritz, and Miguel twice. My thinking is scum may think they're better off staying quite day 1 and letting town kill one of their own. This may not be the case, but it's a possibility. -

My assumption is at most 3. Therefore, if the scum want to score a kill during day play, particularly later in gameplay, they will need to convince town to vote with them. -

One concern I have with keeping track of who people claim to vote for is people may never reveal who they voted for, particularly in light of the rule structure. However, tracking accusations could be beneficial in looking for inconsistencies, especially once the game gets up and running. -

Good to see you sir, I wold never forgive myself if I failed you (and lost my source of income). I've never played a secret vote format, but it definitely benefits the agents. They can say anything they want in public while never committing to anything with a vote. We're going to have to watch conversation very carefully. -

Mafia Sunset - Confirmation and Discussion
jluck replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Juan here, we have business to attend to. -
Really, I think most of this conversation has gotten sidetracked. The sets look great and people are excited. The fact that the 3 characters are female seems nonconsequential, just as if it had been 3 males. The sets themselves are tremindeous, creative, and likely well priced so to me, it's exactly what I'm looking for. A few new female characters are always appreciated, but I don't feel like some major statement is being made. I first saw this release on Facebook and the feedback I saw was all about the science side of things, no one even mentioned the figures were all female.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12 Rumours and Discussion
jluck replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I doubt he'll only have a white tile, that flies counter to all the CMF has been about. At the least it will likely have a printed 2x2 tile, which is what I expect, and an old pizza tile.- 1,109 replies

Really well done! Cool to see what modern techniques can do for such a classic set. You kept the spirit of the build the same to which is amazing, love it!

Mafia After Dark - Epilogue: Sunset
jluck replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
1. What is your mafia experience here on EB? How about other sites? Just finished the first mafia school and am excited to get in on another, no other sites though I've played live versions. 2. What do you think of your performance in EB Mafia so far? What are your strengths and weakness? What do you want to improve? I felt I did decent, I made it all the way and successfully eliminated 2 scum, we town won. Strengths: compiling others posts to build arguments, participate a lot, analyzing vote patterns, use the PM system a ton Weaknesses: misquoted someone which looked bad on me, overly trusting of PMs received, didn't defend myself well 3. What do you think of private voting? Will you abide by the rules and regulations I set out for it? Private voting will be interesting, it will eliminate a major tool by voters, but may make things more interesting. Of course I'll abide by the rules 4. Have you read Mafia: After Dark? (This does not affect your chances of getting in - I'm just curious). Only partially as a creeper, so if there are major story arcs I'm missing, I'll need filled in. Looking forward to it, if I get in! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12 Rumours and Discussion
jluck replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow, I can't believe I've missed out on so much conversation here! I'm thrilled with this series, I agree with past comments that some of the series recently have been kinda...gimmicky. Mr. Gold, movie, the Simpsons, they all seemed restrictive. I completely lost all interest when the Simpsons arrived, but this has me right back in! The variety is awesome and the early leaked photos are killer! I only grab the ones I'm interested in, but I've not seen any I'd skip on yet! The goddess is a must have, the rest are pretty near that in my book!- 1,109 replies

Excalibur TNG: Mafia School Conclusion
jluck replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thank you for the feedback! Can't wait to try another one, this has been a blast! I found that most of the game this time was in the pm system, I had threads with 4-5 different players, discovered our vigilante, our investigator, and most of my suspicions throught messaging. Really fun, on several levels.- 47 replies
