Any advice on finding the pig? I've found pretty much all the rest of them by feeling, but the pig is tough!- 1,109 replies

Looking back at day 1, Here's something that has started bothering me about Dave. He started the wagon against Duvors in post 247, but just as it started rolling and looked like we might have a lynch he was the one who stopped it in post 354. Now I actually agreed with his case on Duvors, he made good points. So when he pulled his support, it forced a lynch that i didn't like too much. But daves vote on jamesn gave that wagon the momentum it needed. Now this doesnt prove he's scum, but it is common for scum to point at each other early on, then vote somewhere else later. it helps them stay clear of each other. As I've always been suspicious of Duvors, that now spills over into my being suspicious of Dave.
-
Fair enough, here's what I've seen that seems odd: Goes to sleep... Slight explanation that doesn't satisfy me. He was one of the last to vote jamesn, which is often a scum attempt to blend in. Ok, the whole bit about looking at pictures for clues was ridiculous so I agree with him here. More sleeping... Nothing to see here. Surprise! He's sleeping! So he sleeps constantly, posts minimally, and changes votes at the last second. Therefore: Vote: Stickfig (stickfig) I'm open for challenges and arguments on others but this is where I'm at right now. If we don't reach a majority, then there is no lynch.

I for one am not ready to throw around votes without hearing other opinions, especially from the quite ones, I mean look at the post numbers from the bottom few: Pyrovisionary 4 Kintobor 3 Goliath 3 Scaevola 3 TheLazyChicken 2 Lord Duvors 2 Speedy 2 Cutcobra 2 adventurer1 2 Richila 2 Day 1 was waaaaaaaayyyy overboard on posts, but this is a complete swing the opposite direction! Surely you have something productive to say...?!

Umm...no. Umm...no. We should certainly build on the positives from yesterday. While we lost townies, be gathered lots of posts that can be used today in conjunction with the voting record. I was highly suspicious of Duvors yesterday and I still want to hear more on the topic. I hope today we have far less fluff and far more insight. I will look with suspicion on posts just to hear your voice. (That last line should read "I will be suspicious of people who post just to hear their own voice and look active)

He would likely be targeted eventually, but the main disadvantage is that it's one less role the scum have to worry about. The scum have to seek out the town roles quickly to increase their odds of winning. By declaring as the doctor, the scum now know that no one can stop their attacks and thus are free to target anyone. Doctors typically should lay low and attempt to survive as long as possible, that's how they most benefit the town. Actually, it's highly likely the scum split their vote. It's usually what scum do because it keeps them from all going down together if something goes wrong.

I've never stopped being suspicious of him. Piratedave built a pretty strong case against him early yesterday, which still seems fair. However, Dave backed off so it took the wind out of the sails on that one. Still, he's definitely worth watching. Btw, I was mixing the vig role with the serial killer. Def had asked us if we wanted a serial killer and we answered no. There's almost certainly a vig, meaning he either didn't act or was blocked. Now that jamesn has come up town, there's a fair chance he was the doctor. That's why I was so upset when he declared his role with his dying breath. Lesson to all, if you're going to use your role to protect yourself, do it while there's still a chance to live. All jamesn did was let the scum know that the doctor is likely dead!

Actually, this seems fairly logical explanation. MostlyTechnic raised valid points in his posts, rarely did he post fluff. While I'm sure all of his observations weren't accurate, he clearly demonstrated and good understanding if playing. The scum benefit from an inexperienced town, so I think watching experienced players could be a pretty strong play. (Learning point: this wouldn't be as good in future games, when everyone is experienced, the best strategy at that point is to kill def...because he always wins )

Already lost 2?! Oh no, this party is getting worse and worse...yada yada yada...role play words...fluff...etc. Ok, now that that's out of the way, let's get straight to business. I could care less who jamesn was after. He wasn't killed by scum so he wasn't killed for who he suspected. MostlyTechnic was targeted for a reason though. So here are my two key questions: 1) why was he killed? 2) why weren't others? While the second is a tough one to answer, it can be equally as valuable. Scum kill threats, so the rest of us weren't considered as big of threats for some reason. Hopefully, night actions turned up something valuable. If people trust mencot's miller claim, then he might be a good one to claim to. If not, then don't I'm on my phone so I can't grab the voting records easily, but hopefully they'll be posted soon. (P.s. My desplay name is now jluck instead of jluckhaupt but it's still me)

Mafia School- The Cosplay Party: Day One - Blurred Lines

Well, for better or for worse, it appears we have a lynch. Tomorrow will give us plenty of talking points, so I'll leave that for then. The only thing I'm still concerned about is this: A penalty on a player who is not particularly scummy could put a shadow on an entire day, depending on how it's inacted. Where are you pyro?! -

Why would you announce being the doctor now? Claiming just a few minutes before closing won't save you. Instead, you've just told the scum that the doctor is gone, something they would have no way of know, in a last ditch effort to save yourself. I sincerely hope this is just a last ditch lie to save yourself, but if your being honest you just pulled the pin on a grenade as you died (meaning, you hurt those on your team even after you died, for those who may not follow). Jamesn is right on one thing though, this only applies to night action...I assume an innocent misread of a noob but it doesn't look to good on you. -

While I completely understand your reasoning, and by no means do I feel that captain settle is the town-iest fella, it still doesn't make a difference. Here's why, say things stay as are and we don't get a lynch, we wake up tomorrow and find one of us gone, and for what? It will be day 1 on repeat. The scum will be just as strong, the town will be weaker, and we will have no new information to build on. And it's all about the information. There is no victory in your throwing your vote away just to claim the moral high ground. Now let's replay the scenario, say we do get a lynch and were wrong. Unfortunately, we've killed a townie, but it will be one who looks scummy and thus distracts us from the true scum. Also, we will have info to pick through. We can see who voted where and why. I've always said it and I always will, we need the lynch, even if it means we have to budge just a bit. It seems cruel to whomever is on the receiving end, but that's how this game is won. -

Come to think of it, where has pyro been? His vote means a lot right now. And stickfig, you're throwing your vote away. I saw lindwhisper post above so I assume he's still actively following. And Lind you vote as soon as I start to post But a vote for settle does nothing! It's likely far to late to build up any momentum in his direction, do you not want a lynch? -

I've said my piece and made my case, nothing's changed. In regards to needing a lynch...YES! I have fought this battle in most every mafia I've played. How does no lynch benefit us? So yes. -

I second this, I'm watching but haven't seen much. Look, I stated my reasons for my vote on Lord D and I stand by them. Here's what (I perceive) it comes down to: get rid of Lord D for fluff, lots of fluff or captain settle for not posting. I guess jamesn sits somewhere in there as well still. I'm happy with my vote right where it is, so unless something major changes or my vote is needed for a lynch, I will be observing for a bit. -

Ok, it's bed time for this bat. Lemme recap as I'll be out for a few hours. We basically have 2 "sexy" picks. Jamesn and that ninja turtle fella. We need 10 for a lynch and you already know how I feel. My argument has been made and I stand by it. Im holding my ground for now and will reevaluate in the morning depending on what info comes to light. So for now, good night and good luck.
