  1. Who has orange kitchen cupboards?
  2. Not by my Logic at all. I simply stated that everything a kid buys or has bought for them is done so or controlled by an Adult - whatever it's purpose or cost, and however many people are in the chain. And by age (apart from the fact that the thread doesn't show up), may I remind you that although a kid may browse any site, this site, as will most discussion sites, have an minimum age limit & forum capabilities reduced to guests - so technically, all members should be aged 18+ on Eurobricks...if you are not 18+ then you (not 5150 Lego specifically), technically, have comitted an offence as the rules/Regs state you must be 18+. My apologies to anyone offended by my comments. Facts are facts.
  3. Nice. The way you've done the steps is a very good idea I haven't seen anywhere else. It doesn't look motorised, though.
  4. Erm...hate to put an iceburg in front of your Titanic but Lego really only makes a decent profit on the larger sets which ADULTS can buy/afford. Kids can moan all they want, but it's adults that hold the purchase power (and control Kids purchase power through pocket money) And from earlier - No, I don't have a link to the poll. But if we DO consider the intended audience of 6-12 which is on most lego sets, surely that prohibits most KFOLs from actually doing the poll seeing as they aren't allowed on lego discussion sites? And how many times have you actually gone on Lego site apart from to order or check prices?
  5. *AHEM* The poll was mainly aimed at AFOLS - the description certainly indicated that way. However, like the UK Labour government, when has public opinion mattered?
  6. Harry Potter is the Hogwarts Express set turns out to be very good!
  7. 'Luna loses her stuff', anyone? I'm looking forward to see what the Hogwarts Express is like. Hall class in Red, anyone? [note: The loco used in Olton Hall, called 'Hogwarts Caslte' as a joke about the differant but similar Castle class]
  8. The main reason I suggested 9V equipment is that it's proven technology. It's 2010, a lot different from 1991 when 9V was introduced. Besides, the obvious technological improvements make my system far better - constant supply of power (with battery if you wanted for backup/didn't want the 9V stuff) and it also means that the only thing that would run out is the controller (unless you used just the battery), due to it's reliance on batteries. The System would be very simple to implement, and would also mean that we could have PF accessories that were 'plug-n-play' as they wouldn't need a battery.
  9. Mines 2 32x32 stud baseplates, modified City Corner set and one MOC building. I don't have any stright track. Yet - I'll be buying the crossing when it comes out and using that and placing my loco/stock on the crossing.
  10. I find it hard to believe that anyone would complain about a second charging plug/wire. Surely if one breaks, you have a spare. Jack leads (e.g. Nokia charger, Headphones) always seem to break within about a year of you buying them. I'm not saying you WILL have one that breaks, but surely it beats paying out for a second one?
  11. The news of the Grand Emporium has gone quiet...
  12. Save for the cab and possibly one passenger seat!
  13. I've recieved the UK S@H Catalogue, and here's the UK prices (in GBP, £); followed by my estimated TRU prices: FIRE 7207 Fire Boat 39.99 same 7213 Off-Road Truck & Boat 29.99 same 7206 Helicopter 19.99 24.99 7208 Station 59.99 same TRANSPORT 3180 [Octan] Tank Truck 14.99 14.99 3179 [Light] Repair Truck 8.99 9.99 3178 Seaplane 7.99 9.99 3177 Small [smart] Car 3.49 4.99 No new Farm, Construction etc., though they are repeated in the City pages (City Garage, City Corner, Dump Truck etc.). Their prices stay the same.
  14. Most UK TRU Trucks are white tractor unit/trailer with the trailer with or without TRU logo branding.
  15. Hmm. The only solution I can see is that they are behaving like Flieschmann Points. In this case, both exits are electrically linked to each other (thus power is always fed to the other track one by the live track. Therefore, the only solution, as far as I can acertain, is to dissassemble them and modify. As I don't have Lego 9V points, I cannot tell you any more.
  16. I'm not going to begrudge you...Creator houses are very nice...shame about the price, though... I, personally, will say that it's the Train Shed from World City
  17. There's no picture on the front of the box (so far...) but then again it's hardly going to be the main concern compared with the other PF elements. You don't always get a mobile charger with every new phone, do you?
  18. The yellow one is similar to the one in the Lego loco intro (at about 58 seconds or so): name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">
  19. That made me give out a wry chuckle. And there was Brickster boasting about Town & Trains being number one... as most people will, I wonder which one will lead the polls next year.
  20. From the sounds of it, your saying you have two ovals, connected with two crossovers. _____________________ _____/_________\______ And from what your saying, both are independantly controlled (i.e. one controller per track), and that when you change one set of points to enable a train to cross, it causes a fault of some sort and the controller cuts out? From what I can gather, the problem is either caused by setting both the controllers simultaniously (i.e. creating an uneven feedback causing the controller to short) or that the actual switch itself is defective, causing both the rails to momentarily join causing a short.
  21. While you lot discuss other things, may I point out something? On this site (click "Lego" then "Trains"), it carries the set nos., small description, and...release date of August 2010! Although saying that, the site doesn't have any pictures, though it doesn't have the new station listed either...
  22. I think I'll agree to the latter statement. and no, I don't own an Emerald Night. Lego is second in my hobby list to model railways, which undoubtedly allow more detail/space ratio.
  23. It looks smaller in the toy story pic...we'll have to wait until better pictures/release to confirm...
  24. Just a thought, because no-one else has brought it up yet. In the Toy Story Train, it looks like it has new driving wheels, more suited to smaller steam and shunting locos. They look almost like BBB wheels...
  25. A Moderator probably hasn't intervened as it clearly warns of explicit material. I do admit, it's quite funny when you see a 'toy' used innappropiately. The smaller Flieschmann display layout at the Ontracks open day about 3 years ago had a woman giving a to a man in an alley, not to menation various residential builings having bedroom action...
