I'd love to make a Mars Attacks film in the style of the original cards. I adore the Burton film, especially the design work, but nobody has made a serious film using a 60s futurism aesthetic with today's film magic. I'm imagining a really styalized alien invasion film.

I think the Simpsons was best early on and was great until the release of the first movie, which was also excellent. It worked as a series finale for me. I sortve view everything after as extra so I don't get upset if the quality is up or down with new content. It may seem random but I've been rewatching M*A*S*H and one thing that makes that show so great is how it evolves. Characters grow, leave, are added and the story grows rather then stick to the sthick. I think the Simpsons missed an oportunity to grow. Characters should've aged. Dynamics changed. It's a risk but honestly it doesn't feel right that now I'm much much older then Bart Simpson and at one point we were the same age at the same time. I think the writers played it safe when the whole premise of the show was full of incredible risks. HOWEVER I know there are people who enjoy the new stuff and that's great. More power to you and I hope the film is great as befitting a show like the Simpsons.

It looks incredible. The show is simply excellent, a truly haunting what could've been. I heard Phillip K Dick got quite depressed after researching it.

Huh. That's bizzare. For the US release they announced it as Master Builder from day one so for me none of the above is news. Well then I agree totally. They needed to have made it clear from the beginning. The fact the box doesn't have it marked as special is also terrible. I seriously wonder what happened because while I could be wrong, I do think the concept of it being a seperate playset line was always the case. Communication between design departments failed somewhere.

Rangetrooper helmets are still wildly inaccurate to a Tank Trooper. I think Lego decides these things by caricature rules. How does it look accurate but boiled down to its most rudimentary forms? And if they don't create a new mold, the forehead plate on the shoretrooper mold trumps the lack of forehead plate on the range trooper. I'm not sure why but these photos made me realize how almost ridiculously small the old helmets are. I wish they had made Merrick in the new style so we could convert the new X-Wing to a blue squadron fighter with new helmet and all.

Wasnt the set was announced as a master builder set with the original press release? People were talking about that the day it was announced. I imagine this announcement by Lego is just clarifying what the new title implies. I do get were you're coming from. I agree I don't think your regular buyer cares what it's called. I don't particularly care. Lego didn't either when they released Assault on Hoth, but that lack of distinction stirred up a lot of negative feelings amongst a vocal group of fans. I also have qualms with pricing and such as well. However if they had called this a UCS people would've been upset. Its also not a system scale set. They had to create a distinctive title to appease everyone.

Dude drop it. It's subjective. Whereas this thread is objectively only about upcoming sets. A missed opportunity to give people who own the red squadron X-Wing a chance to convert it to blue squadron with new style pilot.

When were they supposed to announce it? The reason it exists is the widespread backlash they received from Assault on Hoth being labeled as a UCS. However it's also three hundred plus dollars US so it deserves to have a special designation. This is TLG actually listening to the community and responding with a solution. Your comments confuse me. This has been something discussed for years now.

I'm really surprised by how well that torso and leg combo work. Really cool bountyhunter. My favorite part of this however is that you manage to evoke the Imperial trenchworks (which is what makes Mimbam so distinct in Solo) through the occupying architecture of the settlement.

The hover tank helmet doesn't have a unique mold, it uses the shoretrooper mold. The Rangetrooper has a similar but distinctly different helmet so it's good they used a new mold. If anything this makes me sad we didn't get a unique one for the tank trooper.

Ooooo. Factions, I wonder what could mean? Another beyond Rebel and Imperial? I have zero expectations and I'm excited to see this unfold!

I think it would have been stronger if they had focused on cohesion and fewer rooms with more space and pieces. For instance the organization of the dining room, corridor, and apartment (?) feels cramped and creates far too much dead space on a model of this price due to the overall shape. Why does the cloud car need a landing strip? Another massive dead space. In my opinion they should've fleshed out and expanded the spaces Luke and Vader duel since that's the crux of Bespin. I actually think the set is fantastic and will be better in person but for this price point it should've been more on point.

I faced the same problem with the death star set. Tarkin cost me twenty on Bricklink however a week later I stumbled upon a seller selling just the torso for less then five bucks. So bits and pieces will show up fairly cheap if you keep an eye out. I for one just want Han's legs.

Definitely not as interested in the set as I am the figures. The cloud car and Slave 1 are adorable and perfectly rendered at this scale. I'm happy those who have been waiting so many years finally have a cloud city set to collect. Not entirely understanding the hate on it, I mean to each their own, I myself don't plan on buying it, but it's an improvement over the old set and it's a CLOUD CITY set.

Dual molded, side-printed, front printed legs for Han Solo!

I'm planning on just buying a custom made helmet. Honestly I've been there with shaving the helmet and it always leaves a thick line along the crest that sticks out significantly as it isnt glossy. Doesn't look great.

It's most visible in the hanger room scene on the Supremacy from what I remember. It's later crashed by Finn and Rose when they escape to Crait.

Firestar's Thrawn torso is excellent and really puts Lego''s to shame. I might buy a second in case anything happens to the first.

I've neglected my bounty far too long and it's weird because I've been refining him for what frels like two years now. Guess its time to change that. Mwahaha.

Not going to get into yet anothe argument on The Last Jedi in this thread but we agree on one thing, Filoni nerfed the heck out of Grievous in the 2008 onwards series. Do yourself a favor and watch the 2003 series. Beautiful animation, two hours in all, far better depiction of the Clone Wars and Grievous. It seriously drives me insane what they did to that character.

Perfect now I have to order the pieces! I don't know if you're familiar with Dune at all but the head and hair combo would make a fantastic Baron Harkonnen.

Why? The entire point of UCS is large, good looking, displayable models. Heck the Snowspeeder and Y-Wing are both incredibly boring to me but they still sell like hot cakes for some reason. Assault on Hoth failed because it was an overpriced playset, comprised of seperate builds rather then a single one, with most builds having been released before, then had the UCS label thrown onto it. HOWEVER. imagine if for the same price and piece count Assault on Hoth was made at microfigure scale. You'd have twice as much and it would look better. You could have a mini AT-AT, mini AT-ST, a proper hanger full of snowspeeders, a proprr shield generator, a rebel transport, more trenches etc...
