  1. Episode 3 of Discovery is the real pilot of the show. It's fantastic. So much better then the first two episodes. Theres a LOT of science in this episode. The pacing problems of episodes 1 & 2 have been fixed. Captain Lorca is super cool and mysterious. In fact that's a word i'd use to describe this show, mysterious. For the first time in a long time I have np idea where the series will go from here and that's a very good feeling.
  2. Ya'll I'm not yelling at anyone specifically or yelling, the bold font is to simply make it perfectly clear links to pirated versions are the only thing not welcome in this thread. its okay it was just a misunderstanding but now we're all clear. @Capparezza yeah I feel like I remember the lore in the books used to be different there as well. It's not the only lore aspect from the books ST expanded universe changed, actually it may not even be the biggest change.
  3. Sorry if that came across to strongly. It wasnt aimed at anyone in particular its just i've read a report Star Trek Disco is being heavily pirated and I don't want the Mods shutting the thread down
  4. NO PIRACY! If you want to pirate the show go somewhere else, this is not the place to discuss it. Regardless of how you feel about the show a lot of artistry and handwork went into creating it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am a Trekkie to the bone, I love Star Wars to death and yet I prefer Star Trek. I'm the type who owns all the technical manuals and Star Charts and Encyclopedias and even build models of the ships (although for time restraints I mostly buy). Canon and technical stuff in Trekverse is a very large part of my enjoyment of the series. Evidence of my collection: As for Discovery here is my opinion and I suspect here I will be in the minority: I loved it! I think opposite of BrickG my opinions have risen each time. I wrote my feel for it if anyone's interested in the spoilers here. This may seem obvious but I want to make sure people know this is a place all opinions on the show are welcome. I've noticed a lot of divisiveness on the internet in both directions where people are in places they can't openly love the show or dislike or even hate the show. All opinions are welcome here.
  5. This right here is why legends was getting out of hand Simultaneously awesome but ridiculous. It makes sense from a tactical POV and yet just seems so cartoonish.
  6. It's Discovery Day in thr US ya'll! Tomorrow for the rest of the world. "Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam!" "Today is a good day to die!" ...okay maybe not, i'd like to watch the show tonight
  7. I think the figure looks amazing but I do prefer the original window piece over the Rebel Tie Fighter cockpit piece. It just fits them being on a station or ship better buy thats just my preference.
  8. It. Excellent horror film, easily one of the best of the year and a new personal favorite. People have complainrd about terrible CGI buy I barely noticed it so it didnt bother me.
  9. http://www.theforce.net/story/front/Star_Wars_Rebels_Fourth_And_Final_Season_Schedule_Changes_175848.asp Well I think this is a sign that the powers at be what the series done and over with. It really is a shame. Look I have my complaints about the show but I really do enjoy it at the end of the day (as long as they don't kill Thrawn). Here is my only confusion as to the story of this season. How are they going to liberate Mandalore and Lothal from the Empire without the Empire just coming in and slagging the surface clean? The Rebel fleet can't hold territory because its been confirmed that Scarif is the Rebellion's first victory.
  10. For all the hate TFA and JJ get, JJ stands as one of the best filmmakers out there. He's a ninja, the way he films makes you feel as if the cameras aren't even there.
  11. I will start with a positive. I love the art style of rebels, the characters are all fantastic, and the voice acting is superb. Rebels has also created some of the coolest moments in SW and there are episodes that are really fantastic such as Through Imperial Eyes, any of the Maul episodes, or any episode dealing with the force. However those moments and episodes are in a lot of murk. Rebels and even the Clone Wars (Although Rebels is far more guilty) committed a cardinal sin of writing and tried to elevate the skills of the heroes by making the antagonists unusually inept or dumb whilst still trying to elevate them as the ultimate enemy. The Empire in Rebels was never handled well outside of Thrawn, Tarkin, Yularen, and Vader. Every episode i'm rooting for the Empire because they, not the Rebels, seem like the real underdog of the show. I should not have been anxious a whole season that Thrawn was going to lose or die because of BS contrivances, thats not drama. Its bad enough the Ghost Crew had two people with the ability to use the force but they had to make Hera and Sabine godlike killing machines as well? The Ghost Crew are all fantastic interesting characters made boring because they just seem to mow through opposition with barely any effort. I know they get their butts kicked more then I let on but it doesnt feel like it most times. Its the superman effect, I find superman to be one of the most boring characters written because he's just so uber powerful.
  12. The only thing that will keep Thrawn in the game this season is the fact that Timothy Zahn wants to write a new trilogy of books. Otherwise I don't think he would be long for this world through season 4.
  13. If any Star Wars project is entirely unhyped its Star Wars Rebels, that show seems to have been left to the wayside in terms of community outreach and advertising. They should be teasing us with little tidbits here and there but anytime I look up news online the subject seems entirely dead. At least tell us how involved some of the characters are in this season such as Thrawn, is he going to be the primary antagonist or is he relegated to secondary like Tarkin was made into?
  14. I personally think dreadful animation is what held the first movie back from being a decent kids movie.
  15. I bet Lego will release them in those colors soon enough. You are absolutely right though in those colors it would be perfect!
  16. When it comes to Klingon diversity remember the Klingon Empire is as vast as the Federation. Nigel Paige implied the Klingons we see in Discovery are not from Qonos.
  17. There will always be a chance for Rogue One sets in the future from now on. Of course they will probably be released sparingly and far between in the coming years but just like the first two trilogies, they will certainly continue making new one. Especially when anniversaries come up.
  18. As a TOS purist I'm actally super okay with the new Klingons. Probably for similar reasons as @Capparezza. I'd like to pose my reasoning. Humanity is incredibly diverse with many, many variations of our species across the globe. This is ultimately what Star Trek celebrates the most and always has. Gene Roddenberry advocated humanity's many differences. Humanity is boldly going together in our many shades looking forward to the future and progress. If Starfleet and the Federation are meant to represent what humanity could and should be the Klingons originally were always meant to embody much of what we shouldn't be. Militaristic, feudilistic, fascist, and highly traditional and backwards looking. So if Starfleet is incredibly diverse why would we assume that the Klingons are? What if the Klingons we saw throughout most of TNG, DS9, VOY and Enterprise are just one racial group that happens to be the most populous or most powerful within Klingon society's hierarchy? If Klingons are so warlike and traditional, just like similar cultures on Earth they're probably very xenophobic and discriminatory to other Klingon racial groups. We wouldn't know because as demonstrated on the show the Klingons are very private regarding internal matters. This would explain why the Klingons in the Motion Picture and Undiscovered Country (really any of the Kirk era movies) largely look so different. They're simply different races we don't see often. In the new Discovery trailer it looks like there are different kinds of Klingons present such as those with the crystal skull heads and others with more human like heads. The main Klingon we keep seeing appears to get beaten up as a child in the trailer so I think we're going to be shown a lot of the inner power plays and turmoil from a Klingon perspective which I'm really excited for.
  19. Dunkirk - phenomenal movie that I can't recommend enough.
  20. Has anyone ever compiled a list of all the major characters and important minor characters we don't have minifigures of?
  21. With all this talk of Dishonored 2, and me not owning anything that can run it, i've decided to replay the original. Definitely a favorite!
  22. I am curious how the inevitable 2018 Han Solo lego sets will be affected by all the hullabaloo with the changing of directors. Presumably not much but you can never quite tell with these things.
  23. Kylo has proper robes now and last movie had a hood so chances are its simply a hooded Kylo. No need for TLG to make a new mold.
  24. Woohoo Female Doctor! I'm excited! I am surprised and disgusted though at the level of misogyny leveled at Jodie and the BBC by some of these fans. Its one thing to not like the pick of that particular actress but most of the comments i've read are strictly due to her gender and sex.
