  1. bkr, please don't take this as an offense, but I think you're working too fast! Take your time, try to develop your own style and try to include some advanced techniques in your builds. Mocing is buliding your own stuff and not copying what Lego has done for you. That said, I think you should remove all wall panels and start something new. Use pics you can find online and try to imitate them with your own bricks.Modelbuilders are always a great source of inspiration for me, so why don't try to buld something like this, which is a pic that I just researched randomnly as I wrote this comment:
  2. No yet, but next I visit my friends in Seattle I will give it try!
  3. I've lived some two years in Seattle, I know that there is good beer in the States (red hook pale ale from seattle for instance) it's just a lot of fun to pick on you guys for your mass produced beers that indeed taste like water.
  4. guys, trash talk only in the Nocturus forum, this here is a serious thread!
  5. Hey there Hench, don't get me wrong when I say this, but we really wanted everybody to do one build one by one and not you to rush into the AoM. That said, I think you should take you first build, add some more structure to the ground (bushes, grass, rocks etc.) repost this once you think you have improved considerably and wait some more input. Once you get the approval, you can move on and do a second phase moc in which you build something more than your second picture from the first one. Anyway, there are already some good elements in you first pic. I like the tree and the minifig action. But make the whole thing a bit more detailed. You'll see that if you take in the feedback given by the whole community you will develop as a builder in no time at all
  6. Cut off any Mitgardian's beard and you'll be quick to decompose!
  7. I've liked your acdc signature the best so far! BTW, which of these guys are you?
  8. I really like the tribe contest, it really gets people become truely creative!
  9. Nice little vig, small but very effective!
  10. true, I never got drunk on American beer (water) either ...
  11. I'm actually building so much, that my wife scolds me for neglecting my domestic shores, oh well, who needs a super clean bathroom anyway ... Thorshaven is going to awesome guys!
  12. a beard with a lot of beer foam in it doens't scare me a tiny bit! Since when have drunkards been good fighters?
  13. thanks for the comments! @mrcp6d: yeah man, the bank is eroding away, so the tree is about to fall into the water and vanish into Nocturnus, who knows what's going on there ... BTW, DC helped me with the photo editing a bit. Thanks a lot dude!
  14. Which is why you will remain aprentince forever!
  15. well, that's possibly something Z forgot to write in the intro, GoH is not only about mocing ...
  16. Yeah, that's because the all shave. Shaving is of course one of the worst signs of extreme conformity. So despite them claiming how radical they are, Nocturnus is made up of a bunch of sqares!
  17. Great house, really like how you've done the roof in dark tan tiles and added those olive vines to it. The only thing that looks kinda odd is the backside, as it doesn't fit with the rest and could use a little less evenly spread structuring
  18. do we have to be afraid of a double whipping now?
  19. looking rather nice already. I'd add some more variation on the ground though, smaller plates, more vegetation maybe the one or dark tan plate or so ...
  20. Oh man, the story is absolutely hillarious and the build quite nice too! So having your beard shaved off, is that why you fled from Mitgardia yourself?
  21. Well thanks guys for all the nice comments, I'm actually quite happy myself about how the whole thing turned out! @narbilu: I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean! @sk: I build this because for book II I needed a reason to send one of my characters to Nocturnus, so depending on how the story of book II evolves, we'll see what Grimmson finds out. @LD: I liked your tribe the minute I saw them, so I had to put together some Shralieks myself. And yes, this is the Tonto hairpiece. By now I've got three of them already . But as you noticed, the whole idea for this build actually revolves around the idea of using dark tan for a riverbank, which is the color you would see very often in a riverbank, at least along the smaller rivers here in central Germany. And I finally had enough dark tan slopes to build this. As for the water, I simply added some white 1*1 and 1*2 white plates, some round 1*1s and some transparent slopes to the water technique Buurli had come up with.
  22. yep, go ahead. all's cool!
