  1. Great MOC TinyPiesRUs! You've really captured the classic, Middle-Eastern look, which is just so hot right now (no pun intended). I love the huge variety of characters you've created here, all contributing to the rich tapestry of a bustling market place.
  2. I Scream Clone 3 infomanic 2 guss 2
  3. It's great that Lego are making their own unique games, and not doing lame "covers" that don't have anything special about them, like the dominoes and ludo (?) sets. And they're all so adorable!
  4. Oh boy oh boy oh boy, I can't wait for these sets to come out so I can me some ostriches and camels! (jumps up and down, giggling with excitement).
  5. Sorry, I think I need my Salvador Dali head on to truly appreciate this MOC...that's very surreal, and oddly compelling. Why are those people so happily holding onto octopi? I might be having nightmares about this tonight...brr. My phobia of octopi aside, interesting work, fallentomato.
  6. That's it Walrus, you just lost your "blue bucket" privileges for a week!
  7. Not fair, you Brits get all the cool stuff...waahaha (runs off crying). Sniff, I was just getting over the fact that they were giving away a scout speeder set with the newspaper, but now you lay this on me, sob. That's it, I'm going back to the Motherland!!
  8. Yay, my attraction to Japanese culture has just been increased ten-fold! Awesome review Def, and wow, what a cool little set! Of course, for someone as un-co as me, cutting out all those intricate little shapes would be traumatic to say the least (I used to break out into cold sweats cutting out those tiny teddy houses for the kids...brr...). Still, that's just so insanely creative, I love it! Eheehee (runs off to grab kitchen scissors and toy crab for modeling purposes).
  9. I have to admit, the ads got to me. Even now, I can hear the over-the-top voice-over man saying "Can do. Will do. Done." (Thanks to Siegfried for kind loan of 2003 catalogue so I could confirm the exact phrase). (Maybe the ads didn't get me as much as I thought...)
  10. Omigosh, it's adorable! What an absolutely fantastic idea! Sorry, I have to pause to wipe the tears from my eyes, it's just so beautiful. You're a very lucky man, WhiteFang. You must have aced those exams! Your girlfriend sounds like a true artist, being so harsh to her own creations. I wish I'd thought of it...
  11. Nice work Stanley. You've squeezed in so much detail. I absolutely adore the trans purple flames (?) as plants. At first the under water didn't quite work for me, but then I saw the side view, and it looks so cool, with the shark suspended over the seaweed like that.
  12. Nice MOC Jameson42, I love the modernised art deco look you've created here. I look forward to seeing the interior when its finished.
  13. Corker, ISC, oh, I sorry, TGI-ISC, this MOC is "da Bomb", as the young people like to say. Like Sieggy, I glimpsed its potential that day we dropped by for a visit, but man, it's one of the most awesome MOCs I've ever seen. I have to go now and wipe up all my drool (er, gross!). Good work, and good luck!
  14. Welcome to EB, Cedric! Very nice MOC. From the back it reminds me a little of the "futurised" version of the DeLorian from Back to the Future. I love the trans blue cheese slopes for the thruster flame. My only concern with this MOC is that the robot has so many monitors to maintain.
  15. Great review Svelte! There are so many nice details here, and I love the off-white, subtle sails. Shame about the prow being a bit weak...but the Captain has an organ! How much fun could a discerning adult have with that? Brilliant!!!
  16. I doubt many people, in their heart of hearts, will be too surprised by this decision. I'm more surprised that they didn't pull the plug on Bionicle a couple of years ago. Admittedly, I haven't done any research on sales figures etc., but just from my own observations, the Bionicle sets don't seem to move as quickly off the shelves as other Lego themes. Unfortunately, I don't think the move to vehicles helped sales much, as cool-looking as they were/are. For one they are for the most part over-priced. I've witnessed first-hand kids point eagerly at the larger sets (like 8943) and look up at their mums with puppy-dog eyes, only to be hastily herded away from the shelf. (Cue dramatic, over-the-top cry of "noooooooooo!") Oh yes my friends, I've seen the horror, the pain of denial in those children's faces...where was I? Um, something about puppy-dog eyes, and shoes (?)...Anyway, I just hope that Lego maintain some Bionicle-ish theme (and no, I don't count Ben 10 either) (shudders at thought) so they can justify creating/making new innovative pieces. Sorry about getting carried away there, its just the memory of those children (sob) (blows nose)...
  17. Fantastic work, The Brickster! If I saw this set in a shop, I'd whip out my wallet faster than you can say "Yankie Doodle". Everything works so well. Are the minifigs tweaked in any way? The guy holding the torch looks particularly battle-weary, poor guy! I presume the torsos are from Indy or something like that (to my shame, I can't recognise them first hand). The guy on the upper level has an interesting torso, I don't think we have that one in our collection Unfortunately, I doubt LEGO will ever release any sets like this, being based so closely on history.
  18. No, I didn't feed him after midnight, but there was an unfortunate incident with a can of Tab... Congratulations on your anniversary KimT! How awesome is that, to share the same date??! Maybe if you make her presents and flowers out of Lego, and then everybody will be happy?? Oh, and by the way, thank you everybody for your kind thoughts and words. You have all raised the awesomeness of our anniversary by a factor of 10!
  19. Wow, that's just how I remember it too! Especially my expression...
  20. Great review Ja7on, and welcome to EB! I agree that Squidtron really needs a cape (a purple cape, how awesome would that have been?), and the new helmet is indeed very cool. While this set doesn't have as much purple as I'd hoped, it's still very appealing.
  21. Good meaty topic you've started here Batbrick! I voted "either", because let's face it, some themes just don't have the same mileage as others. Having said that, I was very upset when they ended the Exoforce line. The third wave of sets were really interesting, and not just a re-hash of the initial mech designs like the second wave. It is perplexing which themes the powers that be at LEGO decide should be regurgitated over and over again, when others barely get to scratch the surface of their potential. The ultra-short return of Pirates for example, to my mind defies logic. Still, the fact that LEGO can so happily churn out short-term themes is a good thing, if it means they can cash in on the latest craze.
  22. Amazing work Ralph S. The added construction scene makes the whole MOC seem busy and full of life, and it's good to see so much care taken to improve the safety of such sites. I'm sure the Construction Workers Union will be pleased! Interesting technique with the tree, too. A++!
  23. Wow, seeing this MOC makes me want to see the movie! Great work Badsneaker. That's one very lucky kid, no one made me cool MOCs when I was growing up
  24. Amazing work, Teddy. I absolutely adore the brick-built hull. It's amazing how good curved structures can look when brick-built. The VW model for example goods great in the brick, and that's on a much smaller scale to your epic MOC. Can't wait to see the finished product!
  25. Great work Legostein! The amount of detail you've managed to squeeze in at this scale is remarkable. And thank you for categorising the many Federation ship types...I kind of wish George hadn't been so happy with his little rubber stamp when approving so many ship designs, but that's a story for another time...
