  1. One of the robots I am working on is Wheeler and consists of 2 very large wheels. These are connected to via old style studded turn tables however driving these can cause gear slip. I use twin 8 teeth cogs to drive them (one at the top and 1 at the bottom) which then go through set of 40 to 8 to a XL pf motor. I get a lot of gear slip on the turn table, I have cogs above the 8 teeth cog to try and stop slipping, however there is not enough room to out a beam the other side. Maybe the only way to fix this is to go to worm gears and see if they slip less or a bigger cog Has anyone done something really clever at driving a old style turntable?
  2. Hey mate, love your work, I do plan to build yours and see if it works better than the others. It does look cool.
  3. Could always try this old one I made ages ago lol, don't think this will burn any motors out. However I use the one Milian mentions above
  4. Now that is cool, I love the design, and so tiny! AND IT TURNS!
  5. I wonder what the top speed you could get out of a Lego buggy. Last year we did a simple drag race at an event which to be honest never went that well with a kid winning with a pullback motor (they are quick) That first drift video reminds me when I was a kid, used to always take the tyres off and skid it about. I think I might try and see if through some different combinations you could get a Lego simple car up to 10mph?
  6. I am planning to make one with a working shoulder next and then maybe an arm twisting joint.
  7. It has some small guide wheels behind the main wheels at the back So that it cant flip over when moving forward. I need to improve the balance if it so it can go backwards.
  8. This is going to stay pretty simple as I have a couple of large robots to build and when I mean large I mean over 6 foot! Here I what the robot looks like on its base which is being bug fixed lol It's probably just over 3ft tall. Mainly created as I wanted to build a big wheel robot.
  9. Both machines could be dualcore. Maybe your disk is corrupt? This was what I was referring to (search for dual core on page) http://channel9.msdn.com/coding4fun/articles/Tips-and-Tricks-for-Lego-Mindstorms-Programming
  10. Is it locking up as if I remember dual core/processor machines had a issue with it and you had to download a fix
  11. Thanks mate! I keep doing it if people like it. Yes it is connected via BT.
  12. So here is a quick video review of the Mindsensors.com RCX Mutliplexer. I used a Dell Streak (Android) to control the NXT running RobotC 2.02. The Android code was based off the NXT Remote project (NXT Remote Control) however instead of using the Direct Messaging which would not work for the RCX multiplexer, I have been able to send commands to MessageParam in RobotC. Code and more info will be on my blog soon (Burf Technic Blog)

  17. No good deals in the UK and I wanted this set :(
  18. I got this for Xmas and really enjoyed building it.
  19. Hello everyone While watching a couple of films and looking after my son I managed to build this, pretty chuffed as I dont use studdless Lego or NXT motors. Its only a prototype at the moment. :)
  20. I have been speaking to Eezo about his great products, them acturators are really really powerful. Would solve some of the issues I have with my robots.
