  1. I voted for Nebulon B as well. A UCS version is the only one that would do this ship justice as it would allow for better details. The Republic Gunship is well overdue an updated system scale model. I'm sure Lego will use the releasse of CW S7 as an opportunity, especially now that the main movies have finished.
  2. This wave really seems to have been made for minifigure collectors. The sets are not that impressive and there is quite a bit of repetition as well. But, I am not complaining. It gives my wallet a break anyway.
  3. What about a Caminoan? No one wants them? One of the most neglected characters in the Lego SW world in my view.
  4. I am very underwhelmed with the first two films in the recent trilogy and hope that the third one is sucessful simply because I feel that if it isn't then it would damage the SW franchise. Disney should have gone either in the future or way in the past instead of sticking with the Leia/Han/Luke story. They simply decided to exploit that story because they thought it would be a good moneymaker. I really would love to see a movie focussed on the Jedi order and the period when there were more than just two sith.
  5. Since when did Halloween become an event where people can dress up in their superhero costumes? It's not a fancy dress party.
  6. There may be truth in this. If Lego stopped making sets then they would be paying for the licence fee without making any money out of it. And if they terminated the contract there would be quite a few other brands that would love to jump on the opportunity. Plus it wouldn't be in Disney's interests either since the sets provide quite a bit of advertising for the franchise. There are a lot of ships which have not been made in Lego form. Plenty from the PT to start with.
  7. Years of following and collecting Lego have taught me that sensible is not their forte when it comes to matching minifigures with sets.
  8. Likewise, I appreciate the ideas and creativity, however it can be argued that quite a few of the sets fail on the creativity side. There's quite a bit of shelf-filling sets and re-releasses as well. I am mainly and foremost a minifigure collector and for the past 15 years I have been collecting them all (-3). In terms of sets I am very selective in what I collect. In the earlier years the variation in minifigures was slow and various sets used the same minifigures as previous sets quite often. This made the collecting quite easy. Nowadays, I think Lego has realised the potential of minifigures to sell a set and they keep making tweaks in design to minifigures every year which makes it hard to keep up and on the expensive side. Generally I tend to buy sets that have 3 or more unique minifigures, keep the minifigures and sell the set. Now and again I will buy a set which may have fewer unique minifigures or none at all if I want the actual set (SSD, UCS MF, etc).
  9. Wow, hold on! Please calm down and change your tone. It was a genuine question and if you read my op you will see that I am making no demands or moaning as you put it. Rather making an observation. This is a collector's forum and therefore the questions asked are mainly for collectors' and responses from collectors' point of view. I apologise, I didnt now you were an expert researcher in Lego Star Wars field. But considering that you claim that a Jedi Temple would appeal to a very small number of fans and that it would be very expensive rather means that you haven't got a clue. First I did not specify what size the Jedi Temple should be and second, if you look at various Architecture sets you would realise that the set would not need to be very expensive at all. My suggestion is that you need to revise what "moaning" and "demanding mean. Once you have done that then re-read my op and signature and you will realise that neither can be classed under those two words. Please do not turn a genuine post into an argumentative one. If you have nothign to contribute in a calm and polite manner then please do not post at all.
  10. I remember, not too log ago, Lego was releassing just one wave of sets per year. Then it changed to the current 3 waves per year. Whilst I am happy that Lego Star Wars sets are enjoying an increasse in popularity I have also become conscious that it is rather difficult for collectors to keep up with this relentless tide. Not to mention the fact that since the Falcon it is also becoming somehow a bit of a habit to releasse the mamoth (in every sense) £650 sets too. I have also noticed that the quality of the sets has been watered down quite considerably as well. I dont mean quality of materials but rather quality of models being releassed. I do wish Lego slowed down a bit. How do others feel?
  11. Does anyone know if this bit from set 75229 is a droid of some sort or just part of the structure?
  12. Thank you guys. Will have a look now.
  13. I tend to use the Brickset database for this however I have noticed that they have not listed the minifigures for most of the sets from the new wave of releasses. Not sure if they add them as they go along?
  14. Thank you. My mistake. I thought the 20th anniversary sets would be replicas of the old versions but I was mistaken. Will the rest of the minifigures in the sets be different from those in the old versions or will they be re-vamped as well?
  15. So the 20th anniversary sets will have exclusive minifigures and not just the same minifigures as the old sets?
  16. Hi. I havent visited the forum for a while and have quite a bit to catch up with. Would someone kindly be able to let me know when these polybags appeared please? I'm talking about 40176, 40268, 40298, 40299, 40300. Oh and are all the minifigures unique or do they appear in other sets?
  17. Ah, thank you. I would have never thought of that one.
  18. Does anyone know what this one is from the 75213 Christmas calendar? Is it a droid?
  19. I think this is perhaps THE most ugly set I have ever seen in the SW series.
  20. The display looks really good but I'm afraid the price is extortionate.
  21. Yeah, indeed. The dumbest decision Lego has made not releassing enough of these sets. Considering how many months have passed the set is still not restocked either.
  22. London has a population of 9million so that 200 figure tells you nothing. That may be the median for the US but you need to calculate how much of that goes towards tax, rent/mortgage, food, kids, car, bills, etc, etc? You need to lok beyond the stats instead of just swallowing them at face value.
  23. That may be true but dont forget that that reasonably modest earner has also got bills to pay out of those earnings. If whatever number of MF sets Lego has produced sell in the first mnth or so do you think Lego will stop there? Nope. They will make a second batch. It would be absolutely dumb to stop producing a set just because the first batch sold in the first month.
  24. That's what I thought but reading the past few pages here one can be excused for thinking that Lego will only release 10 sets in total and everyone is gearing up and dusting their camping tents to queue outside the stores. The good old British saying "Keep Calm and carry on" sounds so appropriate
