  1. is it that shocking ??? i've only published one MOC on the internet so far !!! :-D :-D :-D wait i think you were being sarcastic... |-/ ;-) :-P well, in the spirt of artists (like myself ;-) ) from the pirate area, i'll need a patron to fund the project :-D ;-)actually, as much as id love to be the islander representative for this forum (i'll remind eveyone AGAIN, they are my third favorite theme)... its just not going to happen. i just unloaded a heafty some of USD on some minty MINT MISB Wild West sets... im so close to completeing my collection of PERFECT condition boxes !!! however, phes... im sure if we stay in this hobby long enough, you'll see some islander MOCs by me !!! keep our fingers crossed *y* *n* <==== that is supposed to be fingers crossed *wacko* :-D - BrickMiner
  2. it seems mixing the american old west setting and other genres is popular these days !!! here is WW meets space !!! the whole folder: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=80006 i like these. especially the head with the cannons X-D oh, and the bot with the aquazone helmet *y* -------------------------------------------------- i've been wanting to work on a scifi/western for a while now (it wasn't next after horror/western, but it was coming soon)... but this guy beat me to it !!! it looks good, except for the dusting that needs to be done to his models !!! the inspiration behind my sci-fi/western was "WestWorld" a movie from the 1970's. i've actually never seen it, but just the poster is enough inspiration for me !!! - BrickMiner
  3. cool... great color scheme. the red/black of the structure looks excellent with the green-vested figs. seems like a weird color combo (black, red, green) but it works !!! go with it *y* id like to see a MOC that has both a great interior like this one, coupled with a strong exterior design. can't wait to see those murals once you get your printer working *sweet* i seem to recall SuvieD really liking the ninja theme, but i haven't seen his name around here lately. unfortunately, i don't theme hop, so my collection consists of WW, Adventurers, and Pirates (no ninja :-( ).- BrickMiner
  4. what ???!!!??? you have a clint eastwood avatar and don't check the home forum for western MOCs ??? :-P thanks for the compliments berry *y* sometimes "optimum creativity" just means we are releasing MOCs and starting discussions that inspire/motivate us to build and create our best. i think we do that already X-D - BrickMiner
  5. no, not a ninja forum... i'll take a western forum though :-D :-D :-D...wait, i might be the only one in it |-/ - BrickMiner
  6. *sweet* i asked you this last week in a thread in the H&A forum (one of your responses in a Brickster topic spured my questioning)... but i should have figured id never see a response in a non-pirate thread :-| ;-) :-P CC, WW, Adventurers... well, if you even need any inspiration. ;-) :-D - BrickMiner
  7. did they look compatable ??? if so, i can see some great MOCing possibilities... those sails are 8-
  8. I second this! :-D Comics are even cooler than LEGO!!!! *runs quickly away and hides behind a huge pile of comic books fearing to get hit by bricks* i thought you might... X-O wait, whats this small light-gray (or is that light-blurish-gray) text... let me put it in a quote box so that it's easier for everyone to see ;-) :-P

    New Skin

your welcome guys !!! it looks really good in action doesn't it !!! im pleased, considering this is a theme i wouldn't normally have anything to do with ;-) but i think that is the beauty of EB, it brings themes (and fans of them) together X-D unlike some other "classic-this-classic-that" forums (poking-fun of course ;-) ) i wish there was a classic-western :-D -------------------------------------------------- as for the skin. i'll do a run down like i did with the H&A... like with the History & Adventure Forum banner, i was looking to tell a little story. very similar to the 1990's official LEGO catalogs. well, for Town & Trains i wanted to stay away from the cliche cops and robbers, and come up with something a little more in depth. but honestly, everything else got to complicated. me and alex54 (co-designer of the banner image) were thinking of showing the crook falling into a manhole that a construction worker was working in (i love the construction minifigs and wanted to include them). but to show that would require showing the minifig's feet. and it's really hard to blend the feet with a digital background. my MOCs images take forever :-| plus, the minfigs would be super tiny showing that much story in a little banner !!! in any case, i just opted for the obvious... but im very happy with the results. as for the rest of the skin... i wanted a busy street feeling. see, when your walking in the streets you get bombarded with warnings, advertisements, traffic, etc... its a little much. so i wanted to capture a little of that, but still have it be visually appealing. the street/road header, railroad header, crossing guard, and construction headers all add to this busy "street" feeling. together they make up quite a range of colors (far more than the H&A Forum) which helps the busy street feeling also. hobbes actually suggest the concrete-gray look that dominates most of the forum (good call). so he gets some credit on this too !!! i hope everyone enjoys !!! - BrickMiner
  10. very perceptive summation jipay *y* i guess i didn't realize this... as my "dark ages" came in two different and distinct periods... each due to my career in comics, and nothing to do with games !!! BTW, comics are cooler than video games :-P :-D - BrickMiner
  11. i definitely PMed you earlier ;-) because nothing you sent was TOO "personal" in your "message", i'll just post it here... hey SWL!, thanks for taking an intereset in my GT work !!! and the comments are much appriciated. although, while im flatter you would like use some of the imagery i don't think im ready to give anything out just. i mean, my MOCs aren't even done yet !!! i want to get some for stuff finalized and published before distributing anything keep posted though !!! - BM one more image to share... BTW, that is the new ghost from 10176... doesn't look too bad after you get him some white hands :-D :-D :-D - BrickMiner
  12. oooohhh... so its official 8-
  13. ya, that logo took some time. its all drawn by hand in Adobe Illustrator. LEGO never used photos for their corner theme icons, so i didn't want to either !!! i did end up taking different shots of ghost shrouds to get a couple different angles for reference. december !!! i can't wait that long :'-( well, lets see if anyone parts this set out on BL. that is what im hoping for !!! but when you do get that 10176, definietly let me know... i may still need it, but hopefully not 8-| i have brand new "old" colored ghost shrouds, but i want them to match the new GITD color of the scarecrow head... it'd be like mixing old and new grays together if i didn't, and i just can't do that !!! -------------------------------------------------- thanks joe !!!-------------------------------------------------- currently i have four REALLY good ideas (only two are near-finished)(missing two or three pieces or figs).6714: Creepy Creature Camp, 44 pieces 6738: Water Tower (working title), 148 pieces 6749: Precarious Bridge, 232 pieces 6776: Ghost Town
  14. i voted for 6093 Flying Ninja Fortress... the wall-barrier bottom and three towers create a nice fortress *y* that is very atheistically pleasing 8-
  15. 8-
  16. thanks phoinix !!! X-D -------------------------------------------------- ok, but it'll cost ya >:-) :-D actually, all the Ghost Town BGs will be almost identical to the official LEGO BGs used on the cowboy line. only cooler colors, spooky, *skull* -------------------------------------------------- its a custom, i wanted to create all new minifigs for this line... it seemed that when LEGO released a sub-theme, all new minifigs would come also. islanders, indians, all the castle sub-themes, etc... all good examples.so, i've created all new torsos, and used heads that were not previously used in the either WW line. see, while im fine with torso stickers (even LEGO used them) but i don't like making custom head stickers, they just don't look right. as Evil Willy once said in regard to customs, "a minifig should look like a minifig" and custom head stickers loose that nostolgic LEGO aura. as for the ghost miner... his torso is pretty simple. brown shirt with black suspenders. i did add a couple details, there are three "gun shot" wounds (two are visable in the photo) and the top of this collar is ripped, showing his glowing green neck (can barely be seen just under the bandana). --------------------------------------------------
  17. :-D i always thought your screen name was Jay Pi (that is how your initials sound in english). and you just switched around the "ay" and the "i" to get jipay !!!i had no idea about the french pronunciation !!! :-D - BrickMiner
  18. i've actually gotten so much out of the batman line... its unbelivable considering i do WW !!! i used the joker card in Gunsligners Saloon (perfect fit) and the penguin and alfred torsos are a prefect fit for other WW themes !!!who would have guess batman meets the WW X-O also, in brickster's Ghost Town he uses the evil skelleton skull... and before batman was released i was using the GITD version... but had to make the switch when i saw that head... like you said, PERFECT fit !!! plus i wanted to be different ;-) and thanks for the complinments S4J *sweet* this is only the beginning ;-) hmmm... that all depends on how much i want to "leak" before the actually MOCs are ready. i mean, i don't want to spoil some of the best parts before everyone sees the actually "meat" of the sub-theme.could be tomorrow, could be a week,... depends on what i decide is spoilable :-P - BrickMiner
  19. ok, so brickster was asking me to post some MOCs, NOW!!! unfortunately, it seems i've been spending around four months on JUST one. stickers and minifig torso designs, image editing, image shooting, and aquiring specialized pieces through BL takes a LONG time... not to mention actually designing the model !!! however, that makes my next publication due out next month ;-) and as many of you know, i like to recreate an official LEGO look with my projects... so, in the fashion of a true LEGO release (which always have "leaked" images) i present (and just in time for Halloween)... LEGO SYSTEM Ghost Town (BrickMiner style ;-) ) "A band of travelers wearied by the unforgiving desert sun stumble upon a strange forgotten land. As sundown ends, the darkness of midnight lights the way to a mystical town !!! Here, in the ghost town of Shiversdale, floor boards creek and moan as if alive, cactus watch your every step, and a vengeful gold miner haunts the land !!! With building sets from the LEGO SYSEM Wild West collection only you, the LEGO MANIAC, can determine what will happen in the weird, Wild West." comments appriciated. oh, and more to come *skull* -------------------------------------------------- oh, and directly linked to this topic... i really REALLY need some replies in this thread http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=6169. - BrickMiner
  20. :-D :-D :-D these are very funny... i like cleese's and asuka's too !!! thanks for the laugh guys !!! - BrickMiner
  21. i thought this might be a fun thread for those of you who have interesting screen names ;-) BRICKMINER: in my land, bricks are a precious commodity. some say as precious as gold 8-
  22. well, unfortunately... our anticipation ( ;-) ) is just going to have to wait, as i am awaiting piece from BL. and all the anxiety in the world isn't going to make the mail go any faster :-D however, i plan to release the first in my Ghost Town series next month. im still on schedule X-D the Town & Train Forum skin is finished as of last night *y* oh, and i really REALLY need some replies here too http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=6169. but you know, just cause you asked... i'll "leak" some images (in the true anxious LEGO collector tradition :-D :-D :-D ) tonight or tommorow !!! don't dim your lights too soon *skull* - BrickMiner
  23. thats a very good expination for the color... different colors/shapes inspire a kids imagination too (gets them thinking creatively when they try to come up with arlternate models), which is the ultimate goal for LEGO, right ??? i never bought into the whole, "they is the piece/color that had overstocked, so that is what they used" theory. i have way more confidence in LEGO than to say that. thanks athos !!! now, i can use the above expination in my arsenal for arguments (if i ever need to, hopefully not ;-) ). - BrickMiner
  24. same here X-O i liked yours best yoda !!! - BrickMiner
  25. id get more of the official lego piece if it were me... however, i like number 3 the best... and that says a lot about Armothe !!! - BrickMiner
