it appears the sail materials are of high quality, the graphics are well executed, the colors are vibrant and make for great romanticized pirate iconography (for kids, which is who this is designed for).if this were an MOC's sails, i would say they are the best i've ever seen (or maybe next to baronsat's). just because it is another toy company, and not a LEGO fan who created them, doesn't mean they aren't good. good is good. - BrickMiner

are we talking about hand guns (referened to legally as concealably weapons) or hunting weapons (such as rifles and the like) ??? in some states it is illegal to have a conceled weapon. however, in all states it is legal to have hunting weapons. im not sure the polices of other countries, so im not sure which we are talking about here... as far as hand guns go... i'll start where hobbes left off (BTW, i live in the US)... yes, things that are demed "unconsitutional" are very "un-american." just like other countries, we have our traditions, and a lot of those traditions are rooted in our forefather's constitution. so the next logical question is... if times change, so why can't the constitution ??? well, we can look at Amendment 18 (aka prohibition) for reference. we attempted to amend the constitution saying that alcohal would be illegal... well, we had to take that one back with Amendment 21 :-D things got too out of hand. same thing would happen if you you took guns away. its just tradition - it might sound ignorant, but its not. that is how societies work. - BrickMiner

that a funny choice... i think the brown log walls aren't balanced, colorwise. i don't think there is enough light colors in the set. *man, as im typing this i realize a majority of my concerns with the ninja theme reflect color choice* i got to start looking at other some other elements :-D -------------------------------------------------- i will add this... i think the Stone Tower Bridge crossing mechanism is kinda weird. i actually don't own the set, but from the scans i've seen at brickfactory the bridge actualy flys up (not falls down) !!! is this correct ??? if so, i find that strange *wacko* - BrickMiner

adobe photoshop and illustrator. yes, all of the "original" graphics were created by me in illustrator.here is a shot of two of the items i created for the T&T skin... the road/rail headers and crossing guard/construction headers are also created in illustrator. everything else is done in photoshop... editing the minifig images, and making the illustrator based designs ready for the web. - BrickMiner

ah !!! now i see... 007 was refereing to the genre twist of sci-fi and western in the term "steampunk." right ??? see, im heavily envolved in the comic book industry and steampunk is a comic title !!! i thought he was refereing to that !!! i honestly had no idea it was a more generally recognized term. thanks for cleaing that up !!! i dont' think steampunk referres to this sci-fi-western material very well then. -------------------------------------------------- so, about these Tech-West MOCers... do they have an internet community, live festival, or other unifying element ??? i'l like to know more about there efforts. - BrickMiner

ya, i wasn't saying these had anything to do with westworld... and actually, it was just the movie poster that had inspired me a couple months ago, as i've never seen the movie. good to hear its well liked !!! these look like they were more Wild Wild West inspired... and i didn't particularly like that movie. id definitely go for MORE western and LESS sci-fi in my sub-theme. firefly/serenity are in the opposite direction. here is a comic i've always loved (strangely enough from the 1970's also)... this was actually my first inspiration for the genre twister !!! it has a great Neal Adams (one of my personal favs) cover for those familiar with comic books. Nope. You are completely off. Steampunk is set in an alternate Victorian Era, which is in the past. Also, there is already a Space-western theme called Tech-west. to be hoenst, i don't understand any of what you guys are talking about here *wacko* :'-( - what is called steam punk ??? it can be european ??? (i know what steampunk is, but in your wording i can figure out what you are meaning, in relation to this thread) - what is this Tech-West... surly its not an official LEGO theme, maybe a movie, a cartoon ??? - BrickMiner

well, i do have this thread linked in my signature, only serving the purpose of "about me" (no longer "welcome me") so ya, that makes you right here... however, if someone wanted to write a reply based on the artwork i posted, or something pertinent to the time, then i would think that would be appropriate *sweet* it is weird welcoming someone who came before you :-D i think SWL! is just excited about my Ghost Town preview thread... he as ask me a couple times now about it ;-) and that is why he posted here. - BrickMiner
