  1. :-D :-D :-D well, BL is the only source for that image, currently... so i doubt there is another option.i'll respond to this thread, once i hear something - BrickMiner
  2. ya, i meant rumored to be next year... though it could be the following year (as i understand it anyway ;-) )Long Live Wild West !!! oh, and JT and his gang too ;-) :-P - BrickMiner
  3. i have/use a Canon PowerShot A520 for all the digital photos you see come out of me... i wouldn't recommend it ;-) - BrickMiner
  4. oh, also, K... here is another thread that had a lot of islander talk !!! enjoy !!!- BrickMiner (NOTE: really i made this double post so that i could get my cumulative post count off the evil triple 6 ;-) :-D :-D :-D )
  5. i sent this message... i got a response about my GITD color change question pretty fast... but didn't recieve a resolution for a while. i suspect BL will be able to help us ;-) - BrickMiner
  6. hmmm... unfortunately i don't have any to show at the moment, K...however, i have suggestions ;-) i have always thought the islander's appeal have been the maoi. its kinda like a mixture of landscapping (because they are rocks) and face/figure scultpting... i would recommend lots of maoi, they are just lots of fun to build X-D also, the islanders advantage against the pirates is their natural environment... crocs, swinging vines, leaf camofauge, falling rope/vine bridges, etc... i would suggest focusing your MOCs on those concepts. their environment is their strenght, so let them use it !!! so, those are just a couple brief (and very general) islander concepts off the top of my head. if you get going on an MOC, im sure i can provide more specific suggestions. hope to see some soon - BrickMiner
  7. great to hear K, and welcome to EB !!! islanders are one of my second favorite themes, right after the western theme. though between islanders and the adventures, i don't know who wins my favor ;-) in any case, i agree... the islanders need more attention, however, most of my efforts on EB are focus on the wild west... but if you create the threads, i will surely particiapte in the discussion X-D - BrickMiner
  8. i really like the skeleton molds... particularly more than the way the LEGO ghost is composed. he seems really inventive with the swinging arms, but it does limit use... which is not a good thing for the LEGO system as a whole.- BrickMiner
  9. i have always wondered why the slopes w/o tube are the only variety used for the minifig dresses ??? because the slope is much more versatile with the tube than without... does anyone have any insight on this ??? - BrickMiner
  10. along these lines Brickster... will you be adding the Shadow Chapel to your collective image ??? id really like to see the whole town come together 8-
  11. that is a really cool digital background and scepter concept Brickster *y* but wait... it looks like you switched the hands on the torso form yellow to white 8-
  12. hmmm... that brings up an interesting point... i voted for my favorite set... not the one i thought was most scary...i think the graveyard duel is the most scary, with all the openning tombs, scary tree, and cart. however, i voted for werewolf ambush, cause i like it the best ;-) - BrickMiner
  13. sure, but when you write... followed by... it makes it seem there was an influence ;-) -------------------------------------------------- your original post was... - BrickMiner
  14. i find it interesting that 2 out of 7 of these images have digitally edited backgrounds. that percentage seems way higher than the average BrickShelf find *wacko* from what i have seen, it's usually 0 :-D maybe it's getting more popular ;-) - Brick Miner
  15. good call !!! however, that parrot mold still represents too many kinds of birds.... at least the owl is a good addition !!!- BrickMiner
  16. by "better" i meant the boarders of the shapes and elements are more define, the colors don't "bleed" outside their boundaries.the re-released calvary have this "better" quality... though i prefer the more "sloppy" printing of the old ones. but its probaby just what im used to seeing... so it seems more classic to me ;-) - BrickMiner
  17. :-D that is probably because you are used to looking at the parrot, you pirate ;-) it's really what your eye get use to seeing... i would expect any die-hard pirate fan would say the same ;-):-D :-D :-D my biggest complaint is that LEGO never made any other bird molds past the parrot... LEGO needed a parrot for pirates, so they made one... but then they got lazy, and the parrot became the standard for LEGO birds... strange. the dark gray bird in the western theme is presumably a vulture, right ??? i mean, there are no parrots in the desert :-D paradisa was fine,... cause it's paradise, tropical, right ??? but they desperately needed a new mold for other themes. -------------------------------------------------- as for the topic... i would love to see this blue bird w/ parrot decoration too... hmmm... how much would i pay for such a rarity ??? - Brick Miner
  18. hey, no one said it IS better... this is a contest, LET THE PUBLIC DECIEDE !!!wait, we are choicing a winner poll-style, right ??? :-D :-D :-D - BrickMiner
  19. nice photography techinque... pointing the flash directly at a minifg always causes them to be washed out. however, you achieved a nice result by focusing the camera (and camera flash) off of the minifig *y* who needs photoshop to create atmosphere, right ??? unfortunately, my camera sucks (i use the digital world as my crutch) so i guess i do ;-) - BrickMiner
  20. blank torsos have been one of my #1 purchases lately... they are prefect for custom stickers ;-) and much more expensive that one might think |-/ - BrickMiner
  21. bricklink lists painted pieces in a separte list... here is what you are looking for... decorated 2x2x2 slopes. (scroll down the botom of the BL page and on the next one too) there are actually 5 different painted dresses... one is your KK1 that you are looking for ;-) -------------------------------------------------- i love the dress pieces... my only complaint is that they make your females taller than your males :-D :-D :-D i guess all LEGO females who wear dresses also wear heels ;-) - BrickMiner
  22. agreed !!! actual calvin, i am starting a new line of thread that discuss this very issue !!!Western Round Up #1. these threads are to promote discussion of the differenent characters of the western line (you might find there are very different indeed),... however, discussion in the thread includes all of there pros and cons ;-) :-D i might expect a town/train fan to say this :-P not so much, but im curious why you ask...- BrickMiner
  23. that clown idea sounds great SD !!! hopefully that wasn't Bricksters next idea ;-) now you've runined that for him too :-D :-D :-D also, what torso did you use for the fig ??? the candy bar kinda gets in the way. and i think your photo editing is fine... it just needs to be lightned !!! - BrickMiner
