  1. if you like Town & Train themes, im sure you will be :-D Hobbes is the moderator of that forum ;-) and hello - BrickMiner
  2. i agree psycho is one of top 10 favs... but like NotLD, it's not because it scared me. it's just plain ole good directing and story ;-) - BrickMiner
  3. ya, i was worried about entering so late in the contest with the HP troll head... it just seemed to obvious of a choice.i really love the Killer Croc head... and considered making a lizard-man for the Ghost Town Precarious Bridge MOC, but went with "The Drowned" zombie instead... he fit the "lore" of Shiversdale so much better. but i think Dillon really did an excellent job with the head *y* the Batman theme gave us some good monster possiblities ;-) - BrickMiner
  4. i voted for 1380, Werewolf Ambush... for all the reasons said here and here ;-) although, the 4756 Shrieking Shack is worth mentioning... its rotating house was the inspiration behind my haunted mercantile in GHOST TOWN'S HAUNTED PASS 6776. - BrickMiner
  5. yes, that face was a definite use for a zombie... looks much more like a zombie than troll :-D and you guessed it, a custom sticker torso... you wouldn't expect anything else, would you ;-) its kinda hard to tell in the photo... but in the rips in his clothes there are little green "molds" on the zombie's skin. -------------------------------------------------- i like yours a lot SD... its just so halloweenie ;-) if your not allowed to vote for your own entry in the contest... i'll vote for yours ;-) unless.....so Brickster, where is yours X-D - BrickMiner
  6. hmmm... it sounds like people are feeling the shipwreck set the most... which is by far my least favorite... can anyone elaborate on its greatness ???and snefore... what do you mean "you get the feeling", either you have examples or you don't... LEGO doesn't have that many similar themes to this... prehaps you are referring to Divers or MOCs ??? --------------------------------------------------
  7. ok, i could see him, if you are mixing themes... especially with some type of sci-fi (like steampunk) where technology (and possibly fashion) are advanced beyond the 1800's.then the only problem is the ligh-flesh opening on the torso... sure you could replace the head with yellow to fit the rest of your western theme, but you could never get rid of the licensed disease altogether :-D however, a bandana could fit that ;-) -------------------------------------------------- as for more figs and torsos... the Dr. Lightning/Kilroy torso and head also make good townpeople or store owners... Dr. Lightning Dr. Kilroy - green vest Dr. Kilroy - dark gray suit (looks very much like the sheriff torso ;-) ) and of course Max Villano makes a great bandit... max villano and if you are going to build a western train... the other Max is a must !!! Engineer Max X-D - BrickMiner
  8. :-D :-D :-D sales make up about 20 of my 80 something... but that remaining 60 gave me the "whoa what happened here" for sure !!! i've only built like 4.5 (one is half finished) MOCs with that !!! - BrickMiner
  9. however, it was that long between dino island and orient expedition !!! so it could definitely happen... and look at space... its rumored making a comeback next year, after being dead for 5-6 years.could happen ;-) - BrickMiner
  10. im waiting on parts from BL... guess what,... a box of bricks showed up at the door step today !!! Shiversdale Background Story THE CURSE OF SHIVERSDALE: some say that when the gold mines of Shiversdale were dug, hollow ground was broken, unleashing menacing spirits. the supernatural forces embodied the natural elements which released them. No object that occupied the land was safe from the haunting
  11. well, that was a possitive reply |-/ i think we are all just "wishfull thinking" here... its fun to imagine the all possiblilties (and the best ones) ;-) even if we know they will never come true. - BrickMiner
  12. hmmm... again, im not sure about this one... as i understand, women in the old west dressed very proper... i dont' see this one at all...does anyone have an examlpe of the use of this torso and dress in a western custom fig... i'd like to see if someone pulled it off !!! i guess you could make a begger... but beggers aren't a very common theme in the old west. id much rather have a saloon girl ;-) and this guys jacket looks mid 20th centery, not 19th...however, i could be wrong ;-) and penguin doesn't have to be a shorty... just switch his legs ;-) id switch his head too... that way he dosen't look like the penguin, just a well dressed (and slightly chubby) rail road tycoon.- BrickMiner
  13. yes, but that would be way less cool than all-glow-in-the-dark (especially GITD torsos and legs) !!!im with jinzo on this one X-D - BrickMiner
  14. if you look at my signature you can see one of the descrepancies... the beard on the soldier to the far left is less dense than the others... well, he is the re-issue.it seems that all the soldiers from the legends have more define and less dense beards... the printing seems "better". although i prefer the look of the original versions ;-) i didn't notice the inconsistancy in my photo until after my background editing was done, or i would have switched the fig so that they all looked the same |-/ - Brick Miner
  15. maybe that's a whole other MOC 8-
  16. hmmm... Brickster mentioned some good ones. and i agree with Athos on these (in fact, i used two of them in my Gunsligners Saloon MOC)... but im not sure about the rest... they are too modern for 1865-1890 (pin-stripes look too 1900's). penguin and alfred are two other really good torsos that i have mentioned before... alfred penguin -------------------------------------------------- this is one reason i love customizing the western theme so much... thanks to Adventurers, Harry Potter and the Batman themes we have tons of options *y* - BrickMiner
  17. can't say i've heard of those... but sometimes my hobby has me under a rock for months at a time ;-) it sounds like a spoof type of genre (based on the titles above)... similar to wierd al. - BrickMiner
  18. i agree with all of that *y* thanks for the clarification !!! *wacko* ??? Math Rock ??? *wacko* - BrickMiner
  19. as i said in the Studio Monster sets thread... this set is excellent. and definitely my fav from the line... my only complaint is that the Lady looks so much better in a dress. i wish they would have designed the car so that she could "sit" in the car with the dress on. doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do ??? (i like your little tale too Brickster ;-) ) - BrickMiner
  20. what are our options ??? it sounds like you don't feel comfortable with your pirate collection,... but that is the only theme you mentioned.does that mean all the other themes are fair game for you ??? i'd like to see more Johnny Thunder (maybe Atlantis), Wild West (of course ;-) ), islanders... or since you seem to like making back stories, maybe a Knights Kingdom (1 or 2) X-D - BrickMiner
  21. Sting, are you suggesting he makes castle models inspired from real-life castles ??? im a little confused by the wording "made up" and "exact" used in the same sentense *wacko* i think these employ the Adventurer's tradition of not-to-real structures very well... Grayner has done a fabulous job, in simulating the official JT feel *y* - BrickMiner
