  1. ok, fair enough :-D :-D :-D
  2. get this... pirates are one of my favorite themes, yet i don't really care for ships all too much...another reason, i have been absent from the pirate forum ;-) ship, ship, ship, ship :-| so, when can we expect an update Aredhel ??? - BrickMiner
  3. yes, corel draw is another vector based program like illustrator... though i am not familar with "draw" the principals are the same, and the end product would be just as good. just don't use a raster program like "ms paint" or "photoshop" ;-) -------------------------------------------------- well, the above minifgs head are not decals... they are the topic icons for the different forums i have designed. i just used them as reference of adobe illustrators capabilites.i design everything at around 600%+ of actually print or screen size... that is why they appear so large. i actually would never make a minifig head sticker... when applied they look to obvious. i want my customes to look as professional as possible. however, im fine with torso stickers... LEGO even applied this technique back in the day ;-) -------------------------------------------------- or as i mentioned above, make your own scans of the pieces you are trying to make decals for. it's always a good place to start, as you can begin by tracing the elements of the scan. then altering them to your custom.i didn't use any help from the MCN in my MOCs. - BrickMiner
  4. i like the updated box art image B... and the font you are using for "Graves Stone" is much better *y* - BrickMiner
  5. oh, lunget lists this information. nice.so, are you saying there was a year when LEGO changed box sizes standards, and all the sets released that year and the previous one feature two box sizes ??? or am i reading too much into your post :-D -------------------------------------------------- oh, and i forgot to mention... i love the maiden to forest woman connection. very funny stuff :-D - BrickMiner
  6. is this contest limited to History and Adventure ??? - Brick Miner
  7. yes, but what i meant was that south pacific islanders didn't carve there totems out of wood, they used stone.this watchtower is wooden, so that makes it more of a native american totem :-P (if there is infact a face in the structure, again, it could just be me ;-) ) - BrickMiner
  8. oh, well, actually i was trying to make a joke. see, i don't know if islanders had totem polls (if you were trying to be historically correct that is), only native americans.the islanders (as LEGO saw them) were based on south pacific islanders... and only carved faces out of rocks (caled moai). well, that is what i have always believed anyway, but i could be mistaken ;-) - BrickMiner
  9. thanks dillon !!! hmmm... many of you are saying 50 USD. you know, i feel pretty strongly that it would be more around 60 USD. 6756 gold city junction is a good comparison for this MOC... well, GHOST TOWN's HAUNTED PASS has 84 more pieces, which includes one more fig (not counting the cactus monster) and one more horse.but the big difference is that the two buildings are two stories, compared to the one story of GCJ. not to mention that the baseplates take up double the floor space too. this MOC appears nearly twice as big when put side-by-side. it is twice as tall, and twice as deep... however, the length is the same (64 studs). the only thing GCJ has on this MOC is the extra vehicle (money wagon). but GTHP has the cactus to substitue. i mean, minus the minifigs GCJ has two buildings a wagon, and a cannon. comparably GTHP has two buildings (twice the size), a cactus, and a horse hitching. it might be a little obvious, but GCJ was actually my model for creating GTHP... only it's a little larger ;-) -------------------------------------------------- however, a price range of 50-60 is much closer than what most of you thought GUNSLIGNERS SALOON could fetch at retail... while the MOC had 271 pieces (the price of a 40-45 dollar set), most said they would be willing to pay 25-30 for it. i guess i've made an improvement on making my bricks go farther ;-) - BrickMiner
  10. yes it does... i appologize to BD... i didn't intend for it to get that way :-$ -------------------------------------------------- in any case, there is still plenty to talk about with this MOC... and given my background/interest, i am super-curious where the digital background came from. is it custom made Big Daddy ??? photoshop ??? - BrickMiner
  11. i have now ;-)
  12. i wanted to try a new
  13. thanks for the update... we'll keep posted !!! i can't believe this thread hasn't gotten more replies... really a shame. - BrickMiner
  14. yes, this islanders have broken through the monotony of ship-after-ship ( :-| ) in the pirate MOC forum !!!this is very visually stimulating... like the colors. and yes, i see that this is a watchtower, but i can't help but see a moai resemblance towards the top, but im not quite sure. i think it definitely needs to be a moai... i mean, creating faces out of LEGOs (especially chiseled ones) is a lot of fun, and i think that is the draw to why the islanders are such a great theme. however, if it is a moai, then why is it made from wood... that makes it more of a totem poll :-D in any case, im anxious to see where this goes... - BrickMiner
  15. definitely not !!! here i explain to brickster... enchanted island had the same number of minifigs, and the same number of pieces (+9) so since enchanted island retailed for arount 60 USD... and LEGO prices have pretty much stayed the same for over 10 years now... id say LEGO would have put a 60 USD retail price tag on GHOST TOWN'S HAUNTED PASS 6776. ---------------------------------------------------- however, maybe i should stop listing this information, or present it in a different manor... many think that i am suggesting would be the retail price if LEGO released this set... but no... this is the price it would cost you phes, if you had to buy each piece individually from a pick-a-brick souce. and since BrickLink is the most extensive PaB, i used the average cost of bricks on BL to calculate the price. and this is important !!! that price is based of the average of NEW pieces... yes, you could buy the parts for far less if you get used ones... the reason i quote NEW is because, if you were to buy this set from LEGO you would get all new bricks... so to replicate that experience with a Brick Miner model, you would need NEW pieces. and if you wanted to get the full experience out of building this set you would need all NEW pieces... and because , i would hate for my models to be built in anyway that presents them less than prefect ;-) im not saying that anyone would want to build my models... but, as i said before, i caculate this information anyway, so that i know how much i have spent of the MOC. i just figured i would share the information since i had it... oh, and i only buy NEW bricks from my pick-a-brick sources... so that is another reason the information is caculated in NEW brick prices... ok, i hope that covers everything !!! - BrickMiner
  16. yes, its definitely the window *y* - BrickMiner
  17. AHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!! member StarWars4J was so kind to point out this thread on MCN... http://www.minifigcustomizationnetwork.com/forum/3484 great, right ??? well, someone pointed out that LEGO model number 6776 is already taken. damn ogles. now i officially hate them creatures :-D ;-) i twice-look so many details, but there are always some that slip through. --------------------------------------------------- oh, and i think phes is refereing to this thread for free pirate backgrounds... http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=5880 - Brick Miner
  18. ok, well... i've already quoted john... so maybe you and cleese can continue this via PM ??? ---------------------------------------------------- agreed !!!- BrickMiner
  19. hey this looks good... man, those islander camouflage well... almost didn't even see um !!! i expect to see some images of the cavern ??? hope so !!! now, i know im not susposed to look at tis part of the MOC, but those black castle walls are really distracting. - BrickMiner
  20. true... good point.ok, i'll see you back here !!! BrickMiner
  21. :-D i love the name jeb snotworth... you always got the best names. so what torso are you using for ole jeb (hard to tell from the photo)... i assume its this guy (because of the red arms) and i bet you are one who doesn't like to removed th arms from the torso ;-) red shirt cowboy and is that medium green... interesting choice. now, im a little confused by the front of the wagon. i really can't tell what is going on from this photo alone. it appears there is a 2x2 plate missing... can you enlighted us to what this represents ??? - BrickMiner
  22. :-D i fear that you will have made a dozen MOCs in this theme, and moved on from it, before i have my next one ready :-D :-D :-D still, you got some creativity flowin... so let us have it ;-) - Brick Miner
  23. because of the hay, i think a pitchfork would make a good accessory in this MOC. plus pitchforks are just plain scary... they always remind me of friday the 13th movies. though i can't recall a particular time, im sure a had-full of people were slain with one !!! - BrickMiner
  24. good luck !!! illustrator is like 10 times harder :-D :-D :-D it took me a long LONG time to learn it... if you have questions, i might be able to help... just make a thread ;-) also, if anyone has anything else to add, feel free... this is a thread, not a series of PMs ;-) - BrickMiner
