  1. :-D actually no... Brickster's Ghost Rider is the main villain in his original (and new) ghost town/grave stone MOCs. definitely not the Marvel comics Ghost Rider... he is so silly.actually i just got back from a movie... Grunge 2. the movie was terrible, but there was a trailer for Marvel's Ghost Rider movie... and guess what... it looked terrible too !!! and Nick Cage as the rider... just plain unbelievable :-D -------------------------------------------------- wow, comic characters have been a common theme in this thread :-D hmmmm... since this cowboy is in direct continuity with the crow, i doubt i'd draw any inspiration from his stories... i don't really like the crow |-/ actually, not at all :-D - BrickMiner
  2. well, as i mentioned... his identity is up to the interpretor. and that is what this thread is really discussing... how each person uses this minifig in their own western (or none western) world !!!i use the red shirted bandit as FFT... but i also use the black-shirted bandit as a unique individual. which, we have found out, through this thread... that is not the case in eveyone's LEGO world. that is the type of conversation that this thread demands *y* X-D - Brick Miner
  3. jipay turned off the initial quotes. now all that appears is the direct quotes, and that is what he wanted.-------------------------------------------------- well, being me (the official-look-copy-cat), i did wish this had more of an official LEGO Dark Forest feel. the use of some blue slanted roofs would have achieved this. and probably something as simple as adding some more standard Dark Forest figs ;-) oh, and BTW BD... the you did a great job on the custom background *y* - BrickMiner
  4. well, as Brickster knows... his inital Ghost Town MOCs were very inspiring. he had a lot of good ideas, that i adapted into my own vision of the sub-theme.Bricksters idea of a single villain was truely a great idea (i saw it as kind of an Adventurers-ish concept)... i loved his Ghost Rider... and that directely inspired my Ghost Miner. hmmm... i have never heard of this Skull Cowboy ??? id be interested to know more...- Brick Miner
  5. well, i just got back from Grunge 2... and it was a huge disappointment, but then again, it did have a lot to live up to ;-) definitely a "nay" from me |-/ - Brick Miner
  6. sure you did, natelite thought i meant the image (text art and all) could have been stolen.when what i meant was that only the photo could have been stolen. you made that more clear than i did ;-) it was wording, "image" vs. "photo". - BrickMiner
  7. ah, nice then *y* X-D great job with this one !!! - BrickMiner
  8. all the graphics i apply are used to enhance the presentation of the MOC, without compromising the authenticity of the actually model. that is to say, any graphic that would "fool" the viewer into believing that the actually construction of the model is something other than what it is, would not be used.likewise, any graphic that would make the MOC harder to comprehend and assess would not be used. - BrickMiner
  9. one thing that stands out is it double barrel water tower... i don't like the barrel on top of barrel. and wouldn't the window pane get in the way of the windmill blades rotation if they were open ??? (similar to Phes's comment) ;-) i actually think those are my only two critizisms... other than that, its nearly prefect X-D - Brick Miner
  10. thanks 007 for clearing that up... what i said was, "that image looks strangely familar"..."image" as in photo ;-) - BrickMiner
  11. :-D X-D but, that is what they really look like ;-) - BrickMiner
  12. that image looks strangely familar... i think its from the Brick Testement... - BrickMiner
  13. well, contrary to Brickster's belief that i took the idea from him :-D ;-) *, the whole concept of mixing the horror and western genres steamed from these comics. i try to be as original as possible in creating my characters and stories for my LEGO MOCs... so im not going to say that i borrowed any one from the comics above... at least, that is what i would admit :-D ;-) but as i said before, iconography is really important to me... so the emotions that these comics capture, were very inspiring to the Ghost Town MOC line. how about that for a round-about answer Phes :-P - BrickMiner *only joking Brickster, as im sure you remember the thread im referring to ;-)
  14. i really like the collective image of all the GS MOCs so far (all 4). but since you took the time to compose this image, does that mean we have seen them all ??? i didn't get an idea of the whole story. which i thought was going to evolve a little more. maybe i was just hoping it would *sweet* as i really like these ;-) - BrickMiner
  15. i have to admit, was pretty scared to open this thread... i mean, there are some nasty images on the web... and StarWars4J delivered... i don't like images like that. however, there are some really good ones too... that lady under the bed is cool scary !!! all-in-all, this thread is not too out-of-control, like i might have thought *sweet* - BrickMiner
  16. well, what i have is the Ghost Miner :-D so like i said, that is what you might get...as i mentioned before, i have an idea for another ghoul in the Ghost Town theme... and originally there was no need to order the specific parts i need from BL for him, because the MOC he will appear in is months and months away from being done. so there was no rush on the order or the parts. well, after hearing about your contest, i decided it would be a good opportunity to publish the second ghould of my Western sub-theme... and it would be more fun than just entering the Ghost Miner (that everyone has already been looking at for a month now). plus, he might have lost some of his edge ;-) so basically, i've had this idea for awhile... and my ideas come far and few in between. so to come up with something new, using the bricks i have, is just not my style... i mean i could do that, but that wouldn't be a Brick Miner construction... its just not my style ;-) i treat LEGOs as a work of art... i contemplate design and construction to no end. and i don't rush anything, because in art, that results in regrets. - BrickMiner
  17. aquaraiders, city, and castle 10176 have all proved LEGO to be going in the right direction as of lately... with those trends in place, new space should be something you guys like farily well.one thing is for sure... this is the initial re-instalement of non-licensed space, it's succuss will determine anything else for the future... this is the space themes "make-it or break-it" year. lets hope for the best ;-) -------------------------------------------------- by city/space do you mean a theme that is more focused on exploration and discovory, rather than battle ???EDIT: ah, natelite's response has cleared up this question a bit ;-) (however, we posted at the same time) - BrickMiner
  18. ya, i agree... this is the best in the GS series yet. the name really gets me... "whispering windmill", so good B. i mean it. the construction is equally good... but i wish i had more shots, so that i could feel acquainted with the structure better. i like that you have introduced a second villain... what is his name/story ??? - BrickMiner
  19. ah, well, in that case, sorry for the super serious response, sometimes im not as quick with the joking style responses *sweet* -------------------------------------------------- ya, what he said :-P the black suit is sharp *wub* - BrickMiner
  20. my figs and MOCs look just as good in real life as they do in the finished, LEGOish box art version. in my opinion, they look better... but im the only one who would know that, sadly. im waiting on parts from BL...if my order arrives by the deadline date, i will enter the new Ghost Town fig. otherwise, i will enter the Ghost Miner. - BrickMiner
  21. :-D thanks for pointing this out... i'll didn't know. i'll get those links replaced *y* - BrickMiner
  22. |-/i had always belived this :-D however, i posed the question for the good of discussion. there are many possiblities or interpretations to the character. no victory in convincing anybody anything... just good discussion ;-) and jemppu provided a great external entertainment analogy to the western bandits !!! - BrickMiner
  23. welcome to eurobricks jemppu !!! i look forward to seeing you in the History and Adventure Forum, as well as the Pirate Forum... your contibutions have already been noticed !!! this is refeshing to hear... as a lot of AFOL here on EB were brought back to the hobby by StarWars LEGO... i wish i would have been into the hobby during the Legends releases. hey nice job you have, and nice hobbies... comics are another one of my possions too !!! this explains your refence to "Luky Luke" that you provided in the Western Round Up thread !!!- BrickMiner
  24. i remember that one too Brickster... but as i recall, didn't like it much :-D oh, i just thought of one i liked... The Decent was a great recent movie... one of my favorites actually. it might have made it into my top ten *y* -------------------------------------------------- BTW, the Grunge 2 comes out today, and i'll probably get around to seeing it tomorrow... and body want some feedback ??? a "ya" or a "nay" ???? - BrickMiner
