I think that there's a multitude of reasons for why that could be the case other than the story. Uh, well... The mere fact that we're getting a new constraction line in 2015 is interesting enough to make a video about, because the wording on the Linkedin page suggets a full-blown theme rather than a sub-theme like the Superhero/Chima ultrabuilds. So this'll be the first new constraction theme we'll receive in five years. That's already big enough news. Then you get into the debate of whether this new theme's existence automatically means that Hero Factory will be canceled; this was discussed in the video and both sides of that particular coin were elaborated upon. We bring up some old quotes by Lego in Customer Service emails where they state their goal to create many Constraction lines instead of limiting themselves to one at a time. We discuss signs that could potentially point to HF's impending end, such as its gradually declining number of sets (although it appears to have stabilized at 8 per wave), promotions, TV specials (now reduced to only 22 minutes a year), and the ending of the book series. Finally, we bring up the possibility that we know a lot of people are automatically thinking of when they hear this news and that is the return of BIONICLE. We give reasons why it's likely not the case, specifically that it's called a "new" theme rather than a "new take" or "revival" of an old theme (and contrast that line with the line about a past project of his, a re-imagining of Castle) and then talk about our hopes for this new theme and what it could mean for HF IF it is canceled. As that long, overblown paragraph clearly shows, there's more than enough material to warrant a video about this subject even if 90% of it is speculation. It's still important news.

BE WARNED: That video is so blown out of proportion with speculation it's not even funny. We went a little overboard in analyzing the info and presenting every possibility. :P Still, it was entertaining.

Well, look at what happened to both of those themes. Perhaps Lego believes BIONICLE cannibalized their sales :P

Well, I'd still like to know who masterminded the Brain attack. THAT, at least, wasn't Von Nebula (although it was likely a mere filler model).

Amen to this. Ever since that was proposed I've been eager to see a picture with it used. Also... Ikkad? Hey, it's been a long time. Glad to see you still live and breathe. :P

I've predicted it was going to go away for quite a while now; it seems like the marketing budget for the theme is painfully small, so that can't be doing wonders for its sales. However, as others are saying, it would be a shame if the theme ended with no resolution to any of the dangling plot threads. ... I still want more details on Antiquaza. : |

After zooming in quite close I can see the name "Breez" on the windshield. The lime one with the quaza spikes, that is.

:O I didn't really notice the resemblance but now that I do... man. I loved Caustic Caverns. :D

What's your favorite Hero Factory XL set ?
Mesonak replied to Legofan225's topic in LEGO Action Figures
My favorite large HF set released thus far? Witch Doctor, bar none. My favorite XL hero? Furno XL. -
I think your Christmas is a necessary sacrifice. The prosperity of HF sales must be assured! Plus the Lego Movie looks pretty cool.

Review: 44021 Splitter Beast vs Furno and Evo
Mesonak replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
This set's pretty great. The smaller beast is pretty terrible, but when combined, it works out alright. I think I'll make this set my first pickup. Great review. -
This set is pretty great, overall. I do have to agree with you on the claw arm being too short, however, and the absurdity of him holding the radio tower with a normal fist. Still, that's easily fixable stuff. As it stands, this guy has a fair amount of personality to him and I plan on picking him up. And as for Breez... eh. Love the figure, dislike the helmet. I don't think it's terrible; it still looks like Breez. I jush it was a bit more tall and angular. Great review nonetheless.
-
I thoroughly enjoy those minifigures with the heroes' helmets, although it really showcases how awkward the helmet from Breez looks. They could've made that a little bit longer and more angular, I think.
-
Eh... not the greatest of the sets in this wave, but certainly not bad. I'll probably get him at some point and touch up some of the weak spots. Good review, though, despite the picture quality (although I don't really think it's that bad :P).
-
Initially I disliked this set, and I still do in some regards. However, I think the ingenuity of the build and the added gear function are enough for me to pick this set up. I fully support experimenting in that field again after so long away, and I can't fault them if their first foray back into gears is riddled with some problems. ...However, I'll be fixing some of my issues along the way. Great review. :P
-
I swear, I can respect and appreciate the effort with the first three. Execution may be mediocre/bad however I think with some touching up they may be on to something. That last one though... I just find it incredibly hilarious. Especially the picture where it can't support itself. XD Still, I like them somewhat and may refine the ideas once I get a hold of the sets myself.
-
...This set is certainly an oddity. On the one hand, I can't fault them for trying. It's clear there was effort here. A custom build, interesting concept... it's just a shame that the execution kinda fell flat. I can't help but feel this set would have benefited greatly had it been larger (not necessarily as intricate as Mazeka but somewhere along those lines), however as far as this goes... it's not terrible. Seems like it'd be cool to have multiple and set up turrets alongside other minifigures to fight against the Beasts and whatnot. It's still probably my least favorite set of the wave due to the awkward color scheme and awkward posability.
-
Great review; this one surprised me because, as it stood previously, Jaw Beast was my least favorite out of all the villains. However, after reading this, he may just be my favorite. Something about him just appeals to me... I can't really place my finger on what it is exactly, but it just seems like a cool set. I do, however, wish that he was a bit more like he is depicted as in the instruction booklet's huge battle scene, what with the long tail and whatnot. I may mod that upon getting the set, we shall see. I've gotta say, however, as cool as the transparent bones are, I can't help but feel they're a bit out of place considering none of the others have them.

Definitely my favorite of the mechs. The first picture of the completed figure really drove it home for me. They did very well with this one. Between the custom torso, the unique poses he can get into as a result of the arms and turbines, as well as the general stance of the figure, this guy seems like a winner. I also must question the colors of the chairs in this wave (as has been stated before but it still gets me and I have to repeat it). Of ALL THE COLORS, they choose lime green and orange? Very good review. Liked the line about the burning corpses. :P
-
Loved this review. This line in particular was great and so very true: The set seems pretty solid. Probably my second favorite of the mechs. The color scheme seems off, but I thoroughly enjoy the claw, shoulder pads, and the Rocka minifigure. This fig is probably my favorite of the entire wave solely because of that facial expression. The containers on the back of these sets also seem quite awkward. I'm amazed if they don't affect the stability of the mechs.
-
Your wish is my command. :P Found that earlier while browsing my usual list of websites for no real reason. It's the only set listed on that site that has the back of the bag showcased.
-
It could still happen; we must not lose hope! Perhaps Invasion from Below could tie into it in some way. I just don't really see how. :/
-
Oh, I've given up hope on that at this point. It's clear there's absolutely no concrete sense of direction with HF's story anymore despite Breakout's promising changes. Of course, they could completely surprise me with Invasion from Below and tie it all together into an epic tale of dangerous exploits, betrayals, and plot twists... ...however, I sincerely doubt that. :P
-
What exactly is there to talk about that hasn't been already talked to death in the regular Hero Factory topics? :P

I posted them earlier on Majhost...
