Asger Johansen's initial LinkedIn post regarding a new constraction theme for 2015 specifically used the word "new." There's nothing wrong with labeling it as such; for all intents and purposes, if it ends up being a reboot, it will be a new theme. :P

Not really; unresolved plot threads and cliffhangers ran amok in the last three years of the theme's life. I do see what you mean, though, in terms of the major conflict of each year being resolved. You're right about that. :P

Yup. If there was any doubt about it being replaced, those doubts have pretty much been eradicated at this point. WHICH IS A SHAME, because I did thoroughly enjoy the theme, but I'm perfectly content with it being sacrificed to bring about BIONICLE's return.

Yup. That picture's existence, as well as some information on it, could potentially trace back to the leaker and cause negative repercussions for him. If you could remove it, that'd be great, but I suppose it was never contained entirely and has probably still circulated around the internet a good bit. :P

That picture was a fake. We showed it to the leaker and he had no clue what it was or where it was from, so... :P Everything we've heard about BIONICLE 2015's Winter Wave (both from internal sources and the set list from Exoforce.ru, as well as the display) only states 13 sets. If we were to see another, it'd probably be store exclusive.

Last year we didn't get catalog images AT ALL, just to refresh everybody's memory. We got preliminary pictures from shopping websites. I predict the same thing. For all we know, the pictures we get will be worse than what we've already gotten due to the presence of confidential markings. :P

Pretty much, yeah. Lego seems to love having creatures act as the villains and then showcase the person controlling them (RIP in Peace Brain Mastermind), so I fully expect that's a trend they'll carry forth with BIONICLE 2.0. That's actually a pretty good idea. Somebody working behind the scenes, pulling the strings, but nobody ever really knows who it is. I'm skeptical of Lego's ability to actually pull off something like that, but I'm all for including a few betrayals and people with secretive agendas in the story. It'd certainly spice things up a bit. -Mesonak

We may as well settle in for a long wait. I doubt we're going to get anything until product listings start showing up on shop sites, and even then, the pictures we get will likely be worse quality than the display due to confidential markings. :P

That isn't exactly what was stated in the video; the leaker told us that he came across a file with the word "dispenser" in it (or an image with the word "dispenser" on it, IDK for sure), and that naturally lead him to think of some kind of collectible dispenser. Just posting this for clarification's sake! Collectible masks or spiders are a definite possibility, but he did not see anything specific.

I can summarize my thoughts on this discussion fairly simply. I enjoy both Hero Factory and BIONICLE for different reasons. I followed both of their stories, collected both of their sets, and became generally invested in both themes to about the same degree. I love Hero Factory! It has its issues, sure, and there are PLENTY of them, but overall it's a very unique theme that brought a fresh, new take on the constraction brand. I'd be sad if it ended, and would like for it to continue, buuut.... ...if HF has to be sacrificed to bring about BIONICLE's return I probably won't shed a single tear. If the build system remains roughly the same (though with new aesthetics for BIONICLE), so as not to lose the uniqueness HF brought to the table, there is literally nothing that HF can offer to me that a BIONICLE return could not.

Remaining skeptical is a very good policy to have. I'm trying really hard, but I just can't see the box being MC. It's possible it's for another new theme that's not BIONICLE, but eh... I don't know. I guess we'll see on Sunday.

I can't understand why they wouldn't label a Minecraft display. It's been widely known for a long time that minifigure-scale sets were coming (ever since Toy Fair, I believe). Here's hoping it's BIONICLE! get hype get hype

Voltix was a pretty good set; I had few issues with him. The problems that I DID have had nothing to do with his color scheme.
