  1. The hype levels are rising... Man, Toy Fair is always quite the exciting time of year. XD
  2. Slizers: Don't own many of them (yet), but none stand out as bad to me. BIONICLE: I was never big on the Hordika. If I had to pick a singular set that I despise, probably Solek (or Av-Matoran in general). Very uninteresting characters. Hero Factory: Evo Walker all day, every day. I don't even own the set and I can feel safe in giving it this prestigious honor. ... Also Rocka XL was pretty terrible in a lot of ways.
  3. This is fantastic for being an alternate build of that set! I'm almost tempted to get it now so I can just make that instead (and tweak it a little, maybe give it XT4 feet).
  4. I'm kind of in agreement with you there; I would much rather have the style, voice actors, and overall feel of the older episodes than the shiny Ghost visuals. :/
  5. Yeah... I wouldn't call it impatient in his case solely because he likes to be as prompt as possible with his reviews and it's imperative he get them out ASAP, but personally I'd wait rather than spend crazy amounts of money to get them a month in advance. :P
  6. He ordered them internationally online, presumably from Amazon UK or some other place. He's got Jaw Beast vs. Stormer up as well on his blog; his reviews are always entertaining to watch. :D
  7. This is one of the greatest things I've seen recently. I absolutely LOVE how you drew Stringer (and Valor, for that matter). I may just have to spotlight this on the next TTV podcast episode, if you wouldn't mind.
  8. The reasoning that I've heard is that the change to less expensive bags instead of plastic canisters allowed for more pieces to be included in each set. I think that's more than a fair trade; as much as I loved the canisters, I prefer more complex sets to more complex packaging.
  9. It is pretty odd that I disliked it so much. It surprised me too! Something about it didn't click with me for some reason. XD
  10. ^The heroes are complete morons and also absolutely terrible at combat. That's what I got from this episode, at the end of the day. :P ALSO: You can watch it from the main menu of the game (the bottom left icon), or you could just watch this video that somebody uploaded to YT.
  11. Well, never you fear! You don't need to completely finish the game to unlock the movie; just complete the tutorial level and then back out to the main menu. It will be there, available for viewing. :P
  12. I'm not going to put all of my thoughts here so as to no to ruin the surprise (I'm going to go nuts on this thing during TTV's review), but I'll say this: I was pretty disappointed, but it was still okay. I didn't walk away from it thinking it was atrociously bad or anything. The new website design gets an A++. Oh, and also, TTV will be doing a Let's Play (as tradition dictates) of the Invasion from Below game. Part 1 has been released and is available for viewing .EDIT: Lol, Zenerius already referenced the LP before I could even post. XD
  13. Wow. $50 cheaper than I'd assumed it to be. Fantastic set. :D
  14. That article was pretty hilarious, not going to lie. XD To be a broken record, I'll say this set looks fairly fantastic. The amount of detail here is extraordinary (as will be the price). I'm not even a fan of Simpsons and I'd love to pick this up, but alas, my budget does not account for such things.
  15. Brickset has 70211 listed as "CHI Fluminox." I'm staking my bets on a Fox. :D
  16. I'll just chime in and say that the majority of my joints from 2009, 2010, and HF 1.0 (and I owned nearly all the sets from those years) all broke within a relatively short timeframe from normal use and MoCing. Ironically, 2008 remained pretty unscathed. :P
  17. I swear, I always remember loving both Evo's sets and the character himself. Now, the over-saturation is really grinding on my nerves. I find his mech in the Queen Beast set infuriating for some reason, even though it looks to be superior to Evo Walker. I also find the existence of another machine for Rocka a crime against humanity, but I guess it's to be expected by now.
  18. Get hype! I'd be lying if I said I'd expected more constraction sets to be released, so this was a welcome surprise amidst the somewhat disappointing wave of summer HF. So let's see... Panthers, Vultures, Mungus is likely a mammoth and... whatever the heck Sir Fangar ends up being. I can't help but note his set is more expensive than any of the other constraction figures.
  19. Dorek may have his own reasons, but the greatest reason I can think of is that it doesn't match up whatsoever with the events in the TV show and the TV show is obviously the main source of "canon" story material.
  20. Looks fairly interesting. Confirms that the big beast is in fact a "Queen" and is likely the largest beast that we'll be receiving. :/ Also, this:
  21. I believed this to be Stringer until recently. I saw a brighter color on his armor so I supposed orange is back in his color scheme. ...However the closer I look the more I believe that to be Rocka. :| Still, the figure looks a little dark to be Rocka. It's all about the gold, maaaan.
  22. I'll preface this by saying that you're right in that I've seen that many a time on YT, however I feel that it's different in our case. The reputation we have on YT is built from discussing, analyzing, theorizing, and, yes, sometimes speculating. We run a podcast; it's what we do. People don't come to us for the news; rather, they come to us for our commentary ABOUT said news. Reporting the news in small videos and offering little to no additional commentary isn't what we do or how we market ourselves. Our fans know that, and they enjoy our content anyways. I guess I just don't really get the problem here; the place in which I speculate about stuff shouldn't matter. I could post long paragraphs in this topic on Eurobricks (or on BZP, for that matter) talking about this news and the possibilities that it could bring, or I could make a video with a friend of mine and share it with our fans on YT, letting them in on the discussion. The difference is minimal. REGARDLESS, I do understand that style of video isn't everybody's cup of tea and that's fine. I don't want to derail this topic too much further.
  23. I concur; I loved (correction: love) BIONICLE, but think that it's run its course. I don't want its memory tainted by a poor revival, and I'd rather the chance at a new, successful IP. So here's hoping that's the direction they're going.
  24. Good review! This is my personal favorite set for the entire Brain Attack line; the sheer amount of ingenuity, complexity, and functionality they managed to achieve with a $20 price point is commendable. I do agree that it would've worked better had it been more expensive (around the $30-$35 price range, I'd say), but I'm happy with what we got. There are a couple of things that bug me, like the black lower jaw and the incredibly small tail, but thankfully those are easily fixable. 11/10 would buy again etc. etc.
  25. I know this shouldn't really be justification, but I've got a feeling the inclusion of minifigures is the reason for some slight price boosts here and there for this new wave. Especially for a set like Splitter Beast that contains two. And I don't really have a problem with it.
