  1. Fluminox looks very... interesting. I'm really not sure how to feel about him. I like what they were going for, but for some reason he just looks... off. The legs don't mesh with the aesthetic of the torso and arms due to the somewhat awkward armor orientation and overuse of friction joints. That being said, the upper body/shoulder area looks pretty fantastic, and I DO like the wings somewhat. The figure's pretty cool, but I likely wouldn't get him, and I certainly wouldn't pay $20 for him.
  2. This guy, just like the first wave's Laval, is bland, uninteresting, and average. That being said, it speaks to this wave's strengths that the set still ends up looking pretty solid overall. I doubt I'll get him, but meh. That shield, though... o.o
  3. Very welcome surprise. He is quite flawed in some ways, but the overall look of the figure works (although I do agree that he would've been better served as a titan). The upper arms and armorless trans-blue limbs strike me as his biggest flaws (along with the spinning hammer). That being said, I think the head/trunk is pulled off quite nicely and you can't break the brown. Overall, I'd get him if he was available in the US, but as it stands, I'm probably not going to bother importing him. :(
  4. This set is fantastic! Very solid, well armored build all around and a definite improvement over 2013 Cragger. The color combo also works surprisingly well.
  5. I'm a bit torn on this guy. I think he's a pretty good figure that captures the ended look very nicely... ...but he just doesn't interest me that much from a design (or part) perspective. Pretty much the only thing that appeals to me about this dude is the saw and the tan, which I shall strive to acquire from Bricklink at some point. That being said, I think he's pretty alright. He's just not especially interesting in my eyes.
  6. I will concur wholeheartedly that this set is the best out of the wave. It feels very odd for me to type that considering I had previously written this guy as being incredibly bland and uninteresting. He's got it all, though. A well-armored build, excellent array of parts, some intriguing design choices, a menacing overall appearance, and good color balancing. I also absolutely LOVE the articulated jaws on him and Fangar. Well done review, as per usual.
  7. I thoroughly enjoy the look of this figure! He strikes some very imposing... poses, comes with an excellent array of pieces, and overall looks pretty fantastic. That being said, as is the case with most of the ice villains, I don't find some of the asymmetrical design choices (like the limb colors) all too visually appealing, and I wish he had some lower arm armor. Oh well. I'll probably get him. dat cape tho
  8. Yup. This should just become a regular series at this point. XD It'll be going up shortly.
  9. Oh wow; hopefully that is indeed the case! Those pictures look very nice.
  10. Meh, I'm not sure if that perspective is anything different than what has been discussed as of late. I'm on-board with Aanchir's way of thinking. I think that, honestly, either side could have misinformation and its pointless to speculate too terribly much about who's right or who's wrong until the release window is reached and we know for sure. :P Any comments in the video made about "BZP vs. EB" are made strictly in jest.
  11. SO YEAH HOW ABOUT THOSE FUTURE TRIBES I'm still holding out hope for Bears at some point, but considering their hilarious lack of presence in the show, I wouldn't be too hopeful. :/
  12. Current understanding is that they will not be released ANYWHERE. You'll have to share our pain. :P
  13. Welp. This is one of the strangest things I've heard since HF going minifigure scale. I can't help but feel there's more to this than "focusing on other product lines."
  14. Well, I own the set and I'm very pleased with him both from a parts pack and a set perspective. As far as parts are concerned, you can't beat him. Both new feet, the claw/talon pieces, azure, beast heads, two mini-heroes, etc. It's great. As far as the actual set goes, I love how menacing it looks; the splitting function makes me nostalgic of BIONICLE 2008, and it works quite well. I'd definitely recommend him.
  15. Dat wing flapping feature though. Very nice. Sets are looking good; eagerly awaiting getting my hands on some of these.
  16. Parts quality, probably. The inferior quality will lead to frequent breakage (as has already been described in the first post). Still, whether I MoCed with the pieces or not I may pick some of these up at some point.
  17. Where on earth did you get these from? I'd like to pick some of these up for myself... These sets are pretty fantastic. The way they're able to convey the look and feel of Ninjago characters into a constraction format deserves praise; we'll probably talk about some of these in the next TTV podcast episode.
  18. ^Woah, that's a pretty cool thing to be put up for sale. You should get it. A friend of mine (Venom) recently came across a large, brick-built Vakama Hordika statue in his local toy shop that wasn't for sale. It was pretty great. I wonder what it is about 2005 that warrants keeping these things around. XD
  19. I picked up Jaw Beast and the Stealth Machine the other day. Couple comments on both: -Stealth Machine is pretty fantastic. A bit more generic than the Jet Machine but with enough originality to make it shine. Only things I have to complain about are the somewhat-awkward looking shoulder pads and the printed armor piece being SILVER. Other than that, I'm a pretty big fan. Some amazing pieces, too. -Jaw Beast is an interesting little guy. I'm amazed it was able to work so well with such a small piece count. He's pretty great; obviously he shines in terms of parts value, but the set itself is quite nice as well. -The Rocka and Stormer minifigs are legit. My favorite from the entire lineup so far.
  20. Finally completed my Infernite collection yesterday; these things are fantastic. They have a lot of personality, and I can't say I dislike any of them. -Out of the three, Zorch definitely has the most posability so I love that about him (and his face is amazing, especially the eyebrows). -Flain is probably the most elaborate but the overly large (although absolutely genius) nature of the head and short stature of his torso and legs make him my least favorite. He's still great, though! -Vulk is probably my favorite; he's overall well designs and the design of his claws and head are simply great. -The MAX figure is also pretty fantastic. It combines the best traits from all of them into one great package. I love the super-posable arms. The Cragsters and Electroids don't really interest me too much, but I think I may return to the world of Mixels with the purple magic tribe in Series 3. Very impressed by this line. :D
  21. The Kai Fighter is the only Ninjago Rebooted set that I currently own, and personally, I love it. I never got the Storm Fighter so I can't really compare the two, but on its own merits, the Fighter is pretty great. I'd recommend it.
  22. Fun fact: that episode was actually recorded way back on February 22nd but its release got held up a week due to technical issues. I'll probably mention it on the next show. The latest one was quite chaotic, wasn't it? XD
  23. My store has only had those three sets for quite a while, but they do have tags up for the rest of the sets. I was hoping they'd put the rest of them out on March 1st (I'm going later today to check). I'll report back with findings. Some of them are available on Walmart.com, however, and reports are indicating that they're starting to show up at Target stores.
  24. I didn't even know you followed the podcast; that's pretty cool to know. Some of us are pretty big fans of your MoCs. :P
