Indiana Jones theme discussion & speculations
Capt. Redblade replied to Zzz's topic in LEGO Licensed
I feel that a fifth Indy movie would be a good thing. It would keep Indy relevant, which would herald more sets (hopefully from all movies) and, actually, KOTCS was not that bad. -
They're (potentially) replacing Indy with this? Not my cup of tea at all. *gouges eyes out to avoid having to look at hideous PoP sets any longer*
-
Hmm... Maybe I could switch up the heads and hands to make some non-tan-uniform Nazis for Lego Indy displays. Or I could just explain them away as a camo team that's a little too into their work.

Petition for Western returning
Capt. Redblade replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I sign! Bring back Wild West! And not just as a one year-thing like Pirates! A true revival! I wanna reenact my favourite westerns! Especially Blazing Saddles and 3:10 To Yuma. -
My suspicions are now much stronger after your use of the words: "Toodles. Until Saturday...", Kdog.
-
I've read the webcomic, and my opinion does not change.
-
Something that I should add to my previous comment: I know, Kdog, that you have not been writing the latest comics, but I cannot follow them in the slightest. Whoever has taken over should be sacked, beaten with a frozen cod, tossed in a bag, and thrown in the river. These are awful. Don't end the comic this way.
-
I am having trouble buying the "ending." First of all, what was the point of the new banner art if you were just going to end the comic a month later? Second, there was absolutely no mention of this until about, oh, four or five days ago. And lastly, well, I don't think I even need to mention the four or five unresolved storylines. I am not buying it.

Indiana Jones theme discussion & speculations
Capt. Redblade replied to Zzz's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ok. Here's an obvious question: Does anybody have any credible proof that Indy is ending? So far I haven't seen a single argument supporting the idea that Indy is done. -
Classic-Pirates.com Report: The Future of LEGO Pirates
Capt. Redblade replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Sir, I applaud you on the professional construction and detailing of your report. It is evident that TLG is willing to listen to the AFOL community as evidence by the Imperial ship, so there may be hope for us yet. If Pirates even continues as an exclusives-only theme, then we should consider that a victory. I do hope they will take your report as a serious piece of marketing advice. I believe your recommendations summarize the desired future of Pirates perfectly and I applaud your initiative and readiness to act as ambassador. -
10210 Imperial Flagship - UPCOMING SET!!!
Capt. Redblade replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Well. I was kind of p'o'ed that Pirates was going on "vacation" again, but seeing this set, I don't think they could've had a better send-off. The ship is incredibly detailed and I think 9 minifigures is a fine amount. I also like the sawfish figurehead and the idea of including Brickbeard as a prisoner. (Possibly revenge for his kidnapping of the admiral's daughter.) Will definitely be getting this. -
Hm. Take the roof off that modified sedan and you could have yourself a Raiders staff car.

What if LEGO changed the name of the Castle theme?
Capt. Redblade replied to -The Hyphen-'s topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I hope to God that we get a shift in focus to something more realistic. As for names, I cast my vote for Lego Kingdoms, because we could get so many different factions out of such an ambiguous name. *cough* Forestmen *cough* -
[Brick Flick] The Nightly News at Nine
Capt. Redblade replied to fallentomato's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
"Note to self: Cows don't care about glory." "Did I miscalculate the calamari coefficient?" :pir-laugh: Pure genius. One would think Malifios would just get a bundle of dynamite, especially now that you can find real Lego dynamite in any pirates' port, but that wouldn't be as funny as a cow kicking him in the seat of his pants. :pir_laugh2: -
A very nice little vignette. Lego really is educational!

So, how exactly was that Octopus Machine supposed to work? -
Review: 7620 Indiana Jones Motorcycle Chase
Capt. Redblade replied to Big Cam's topic in LEGO Licensed
This is one of my favourite Indy sets. But that may just be due to the fact that: a) this is my favourite scene from the movie (well, second after the Venice scene) b) Last Crusade is my favourite Indy movie c) Sean Connery is quite possibly my favourite actor of any generation Still a good set, though. -
Shipyard Shenanigans Ep. 1 "Last words, either way"
Capt. Redblade replied to General Armendariz's topic in Pirate MOCs
:pir_laugh2: Love the M%g$b*o&s gag! -
Some of those are kind of neat. I can probably use the ruins for some interesting MOCs. Other than that... meh.

PETITION to keep the Pirates theme beyond 2010
Capt. Redblade replied to Zorro's topic in LEGO Pirates
I can't remember if I've signed already, but, if so, I'm signing twice! -
Wow. TLG has really lost its way. What happened to Ole Kirk's motto of: "Only the best is good enough"? They keep SPIII and Power Miners but bump Pirates? Unbelievable.

PETITION to keep the Pirates theme beyond 2010
Capt. Redblade replied to Zorro's topic in LEGO Pirates
No, no, no! This is madness! This pisses me right the $@!# off! Signed with anger! -
Unfortunately, the last I heard, that-competitor-that-starts-with-an-"M" had the POtC license. So we most likely will not see a LEGO POtC theme in the near future.
