Due to Chinese copyright law, not much can be done but making original version more available. If only choice is copy for 300$ vs original with scalpel price of 3000$, then no wonder lepin is having so many offers on ebay. With 300vs600 I guess lepin would not be that interesting unless day one same.
-
I was shocked when I saw how many lepin falcon sets have been sold on ebay. We are talking about resellers but those numbers seems to be peanuts compared to knock-off sales. If lego just reissue falcon lepin is day one ready so I'm pretty shure that lego will make changes if not for any other reason then to delay having copies on the market.

Sucks even more to have some banned without any known reason.

Just my two cents on ucs- According to what I see in shops in Europe, most popular sets are sub 50 eur with 10-20 dominating and being often out of the shelves. My point is that lego certainly respect afol community but their bread and butter are still kids and their parents not so eager to spend 300eur and more on bricks. Same MF that we now want reissued was being sold for way too long and I saw it on multiple sales. Market for ucs is not big, i.e. is super small and hence lego now trying to push playsets- something richer kids will actually ask parents for a present instead of super big dust magnet set that for what is worth could be glued when assembled. Or even bought from Chinese as a knock off for much less which from distance appears almost the same. I have a feeling that even if they push mf it will be more for marketing purposes (like technics Porsche I see now on discounts and in huge quantities all over shops in ch begging to be sold) as looks super fine in magazines, but will still struggle to be sold out in any decent quantity.

Could Eurobricks staff enable Tapatalk?
wildboar replied to ryanfitton's topic in Forum Information and Help
Two and a half years later to post my personal opinion- I would participate in discussions of EB if tapatalk enabled as all forums I visit are tapatalk friendly so super easy just to swap. But I guess that will is not happening ever. -
[MOC] Stark Industries Armory [Iron Man Hall of Armor]
wildboar replied to becauseBATMAN's topic in LEGO Licensed
This looks extraordinary! Sorry for late reply but just now noticed this topic. This would be great as proposal for lego ideas (with focus on armors to keep brick count reasonable. I know I would buy it in heartbeat. -
REVIEW: 71005 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Simpsons Series
wildboar replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great series. I'm just a bit dissapointed that there is no Barney, Lionel Hutz or Dr. Riviera.- 118 replies

Review: 70002 Lennox' Lion Attack
wildboar replied to Csacsa234's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Bought it yesterday on heavy discount (1/4 of the price) and my son is really enjoying playing with vehicle. He really likes suspension system. But, tbh he doesn't care for figures so much and he constantly asked me where are ninjago figures. Hence the discount, I presume. Edit: Forgot to tell that I was hugely disappointed since one of the parts (bigger yellow front part with sticker) was scratched right out of the box. We have bought literally hundreds of sets so far, in my childhood and now for my children and this is first time I ever saw damaged part right out of the box. CQ in lego is not as it used to be :(- 1 reply

My guess is as good as yours, but considering that they have started remaking ucs, I think that falcon is on the top list of models waiting for remake. It sold pretty well when it came out and will most probably appear in sw7. I wouldn't hold my breath since we waited 13 years for x-wing but in the future years we can expect more remakes.
-
Please compare these three pictures: New model is much closer to original w-wing and front part is greatly modeled in order with original. Also, r2d2 size is proportional to the one in original model. The engines are now realistyc, wings are much more detailed and even thou modifications seems small compared to 7191, they are not if you compare them to original x-wing.
-
Harrison ford just have signed for SW7: http://www.thehollywoodnews.com/2013/02/15/harrison-ford-confirmed-for-abrams-star-wars-episode-vii/ And now it is safe bet to expect falcon in sw7. So making new falcon ucs will not be great just for original trilogy admirers, but also for promoting new disney trilogy. I think that not only we will see new falcon ucs but that it will surpass original one in brick number.
-
I think that proportion is great and up to this day the most precise model so far:
-
I don't think their designers are lazy, just that consumers never get tired of buying few iconic spaceships and the rest is just for variety. And how original can designer be with x-wing which had so many models so far? I am certain that if 10240 sells well, we can expect new ucs x-wing much quicker than we have waited for this one.
-
TIE is 99% certain. Regarding Falcon, I think that Lego will make even more complex model with more bricks. First one was quite success (Death star was released in 2008, one year after falcon but you can still buy star in lego shops but falcon was sold out three years ago) so why not make it even bigger and more expensive? Especially if falcon gets some role in SW7. X Wing is selling like hot cake, Tie and falcon also and it is normal that they are cashing it as much as they can. Not because they are greedy or evil but because it is company interested in profit, just like any other. And great news for all of us is that they are doing well because just 15 years ago I had a feeling that Lego will go bankrupt.
-
I think this is quite logical news. It's been 13 years since last ucs model and X-wing, Tie-interceptor and Millennium falcon are most iconic models in star wars and I've seen a lot of folks having x-wing (not necessary lego), or Tie or M. falcon and nothing else from SW franchise. Also, for the last 13 years a lot of new lego SW fans joined collecting lego models and if they wanted ucs x-wing, they only alternative were buying it from e-bay for insane price. Business wise, it's much cheaper to make a little bit modified x-wing than to make totally new ucs. And the best part is that it will most probably sell much better that a lot of other ucs. Only one who can complain are the original buyers of the ucs, but not collectors but buyers who have x-wing still in box ready to sell for a couple times bigger price than it was rrp. And honestly, they are not a majority of lego buyers and for me they aren't real collectors but folks who decided to invest in lego bricks. For the sake of their investment I hope that they have cash-in their investment until today, because after this news not only that x-wing ucs will plunge, but I wouldn't recommend buying tie-interceptor or M. falcon. If new x-wing ucs turns out a success for Lego, I'm certain that tie wing will follow and in the next couple years new, improved version of millennium falcon. Btw I plan to buy new x-wing, and no, I won't be disappointed if Lego releases third ucs x-wing in 2026 :)

Geneve also :D Now I know why I couldn't find 4X4 on sale :) I also helped clean Balexert, but on Servete can be found some more left. La Praille Migros is also almost empty. I took whole day in Friday chasing what is left on discount :) Btw is this usual sale, I know for 30% sales around Halloween and new year but can't remember that we had such good sale with so many models :)
-
Let me guess, Migros sale :) I also got x-wing but rest of the money went on technic sets (unimog for some 80eur is really something I couldn't pass so I got second one) and new lego train.

I think this book is the best exactly for your purpose. It have basics but also advanced building techniques, with all needed explanations for builders. There are no plans to build from first brick to the final truck, but you can anyway find it on the net. But for MOC this is great resource.

Have bought only digital copy and am already sorry that haven't used great opportunity to get also physical version. Great book, great review. I have been gathering advices from the net, but this book is much more comprehensive that anything else I could find for tehnic. Just hoping that sales will go great and that we will see more books on this topic. As first technic-only book, it fulfilled my expectations. Normally, it could be bigger, with more advices etc. but the question is- how much pages the it would have? I hope that more detailed instructions we will see in the next book from author. But for first book, this is much more than I have hoped for. And off course, Technic for teh win.
