OLD Mafia and Mystery Games Index
Inconspicuous replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ooh! This looks awesome, based off of one picture! I'm glad my schedule now permits me time to play. I'll sign up for sure! The suspense is building... -
I'm definitely getting the new one despite having the 2006 version. As a matter of fact, it's the only set I'll get out of the whole wave (not including Cad Bane's speeder, we don't know much about that set). Han Solo in carbonite is by far one of my favorite parts of the movie as a kid, and I really can't resist the new mold. I really like the application of the new dark green curves by the wings. Bossk and the new Boba are just icing on the cake for me. Pictures of Cad Bane's Speeder, please, oh mighty SW Lego Gods!

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion

I must certainly agree, tonight's episode was very well done. I loved the Admiral, and I definitely am glad to see a more competent villain. Forresto summed up my thoughts exactly, so I don't have much to add. Great episode! -
Awesome! This game is looking better and better. I'm not sure it it's been brought up before, but the wands in the trailer certainly look like they're 3L, like the new ones in the Collectable Minifigs line. I might imagine they could put them is the actual sets too. I also hope they give us some DH sets. Think of the options! Personally, I would love to see a Gringotts vault, with lots of treasure.
-
You're quite right! I know for a fact I'll use the wand, and possibly the torso too. I'll throw in a few other surprises on top of that. It's also a relief that is sounds like this minifig does come with hair. I'm not sure how many bald stage magicians there are out there.

I agree with many others on this one: I acknowledge Global Warming's existence, I try to "go green" but don't go ridiculously out of my way to do it. If everyone freaked out about every potential issue ever brought up, the world would be chaos. There's all the talk about the oil crisis, greenhouse gases, etc. I think in this particular setting, we should just leave the issue alone, and turn our attention to other, more Lego-related matters. (Don't even get me started on antibacterial resistance. )

You couldn't be more right about that. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lego, for making this minifig! Not only a printed wand, but a 3-L one? And a lovely new torso and face to top it off. I will admit, it's not the fanciest or most unique fig of the line, but it's still simple and lovely to me. However, I don't like the fact the it apparently doesn't have the hairpiece advertised originally. Thanks for the quick but good review of this little guy, CopMike.

I love this simple scene you've created, 501st Commando. The water is nice and sleek and the cave is sufficiently rocky. The tree and plants near the pond edge are magnificent. I agree with this advice. Giving the cave more depth might make it seem more mysterious and ominous. Heck, you could stick a pair of red eyes into it and let the viewer use their imagination as to what it is. Overall, a superbly clean MOC, that I thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for sharing!

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion

The episode was definitely below-average. I didn't particularly care for the plot itself, because the whole "He looks creepy, so he's the murderer. Oh wait, he isn't, it's that other guy no one suspected!" gets kind of old. I wasn't as bothered about the creepy Tom Kenny-voiced man as some of you guys were. I saw him as comic interlude or even a parody of government work, with all those reports. But hey, at least we have another use for that Onocanda Farr minifig! -
Today, I slept in until one in the afternoon after staying up until one in the morning taking down the set for my recently completed play, The Odyssey. After four shows, we closed last night, and got right to work taking down the set. It was a massive operation but was very quick and fun.

I also use two (or three) pieces of Foamcore. Here's a picture of my setup, from a Reviewers Academy tutorial. You get the idea.

The cats got stuck in a tree while I was home alone today. It was a pain, and I ended up scratching my arms on the branches.

Simple stunning! The dark red is just perfect, and the greebles aren't overdone at all. The stickers look really awesome, and you even made a stand! And what's more, even the stand is greebled! The greebles on the underside and Power Miners wheel are nice as well. Fantastic UCS Model, Aliencat. I 'd love to see more like this in the future.

Wonderful MOC, Sylann! It caught my attention because of the nice blue windows and clean structure. I like the control panels too. I also love how you've infused Space Police III with Classic Space- I didn't know it could be done so seamlessly! Wonderful station, keep up the awesome work!

Steven Spielberg Moviemaker Set
Inconspicuous replied to Fede78's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Bricklink always has a few. Just a heads up, the software isn't compatible with the computer I have now, so it's unlikely it would work for many other modern computers. If you want the set for the technology, unless you have an "ancient" computer I would look elsewhere. If you desperately need one, I have a used one I might be willing to sell if I can find it. Otherwise, Bricklink and Ebay are your best bets. Good luck. -
It makes my mouth water! Awesome MOC, ISC (as usual!) I love the techniques you've used for the onions, tomato, and french fries. I was able to instantly recognize them. I agree that the bottles could be brick-built. However, it doesn't look bad for a synergy of Lego and non-Lego. Cool lifesized meal!

[Brick Flick] NNN - The Orange-Green War Begins
Inconspicuous replied to fallentomato's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Hooray! Another episode! I must admit, I've become quite addicted to your videos. Humorous and beautifully animated, all in one extravaganza! Thanks for sharing this, and amazing work as usual. -
My thoughts exactly! Think about it- the last minis made have been the RAS, the X-wing, GG Starfighter, V-19 Torrent, Republic Gunship, and the AT-TE. All of them have regular-sized models available within the last one or two years and next year. Imperial Shuttle? Must be a sign.

New Brickmaster Promo for July-August 2010: 20016 Mini Imperial Shuttle (70 pieces) (Clicky) I personally don't think it's much of an improvement from the previous one: Enjoy!

Captain Blackmoor, Just a friendly reminder that you haven't completed the leg decals I requested a little while ago. Please take your time, but it always helps me plan ahead if I know when they might be completed. Thanks again for the awesome torso, I look forward to the legs! Inky

Thanks for sharing that, Nabii. It's interesting that this theme morphed into Aquazone, it seemed like the final designs would have been really cool. And Aquazone being technically Space? Who would have thought! I also find it particularly interesting that the same guy who designed the reptile designed Frenzy: the similarity is uncanny. Interesting find, Macoco, and thanks for the extra info Nabii.

Awesome minis, as usual Legostein! My favorites are definitely the first two- the Tantive and the Nebulon Frigate. The fezes on the Tantive are perfect, as well as the ingenious engines. I also like the curves on the middle. The Nebulon Frigate is so perfect- I recognized it instantly! The greebles/staggering on the front section is just so perfect! Amazing work!

Nice review Big Cam. Amazing crisp and informative as usual. I've been looking for these sets, and I had thought about doing a review when I got them, but you've taken care of it for me already. I admit, I really like this mini. It seems so much better than the previous version! The flick-fire pieces, cheese slopes, and hinges all help make the set sturdier, and the color scheme is great. Thanks for sharing a review of this mini masterpiece with us! Inky

Good find! The resemblance is striking. But even if it hit a sandbar, palm trees don't randomly grow with roots submerged in the ocean. You'd think it would need more space. Even if your explanation is right, it shouldn't take that much thought to figure out what it is, otherwise the designers failed at getting their point across easily.

Happy Birthday Fangy! Thanks for all the things you've done for me, from Frontpages, to grading my reviews, and much more! You're a man of many talents- enjoy your special day!
