I have a funny feeling that something similar may be used for the new General Grevious in the 2010 Summer SW wave. It might not be ball-bearing, but definitely something new. I'm definitely glad that at least some sets have the old skellies. I can understand battle-droid Fantasy Era stuff, but I really don't like it in any other themes.

Judging by the amount of tan you have, a desert scene might be cool. Otherwise, I would also say a Castle. A micro city might be a little tricky, but seeing those Modulex Modulars, I guess more is possible than I would have thought.

I never liked the alien sets of the Life on Mars theme, and the Astronaut sets were a little better. As a kid, the only set I really wanted was the unique hand pump system of the Alien base, but I never got it. Anyways, great review, as always. I especially enjoy your Photoshopped title and closing pictures. They're just superb. Thanks for educating me on this set and theme that I've often overlooked!

I got the new Hoth Battlepacks and a Tri-Fighter as a late Christmas present for my friend. I'm still on the lookout for some of the other 2010 sets.

Cool 3D animated Digital Box at the Lego store
Inconspicuous replied to Follows Closely's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I saw these at the Lego Store, and I'm pretty sure they only work on City sets. I thought the concept was quite cool, because it's kind of like the Shop@Home 3D spin except in person. -
Thanks Jamie for all the awesome sets you've brought us! The Modular buildings have been inspiring and amazing for me, and I can't wait to dive into some of your other work. It's so great that you can share your experiences with us through interviews and participation on these boards. Thanks again for everything!

Cute little MOC, dr-spock! The building itself is small but not too crowded and simple. The thought is really nice, and it has all the main features of a police station. However, there are some points that are taken a little bi too far, like the giant radar dish ontop and the skeleton in the cell. I don't think this is a medieval dungeon where the prisoners rot away. Overall, nice job. It would fit pretty well with city layouts.

What is the funniest things you have heard said about Lego?
Inconspicuous replied to Sisco's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I remember once in Spanish class, we were discussing what toys we played with as kids, and my teacher was trying to remember Lego. She described it as "those flat diamonds that stick together" or something along the lines of that. When I finally figured out what she meant, I was cracking up. Another time, this really mean guy who everyone hates laughed at me because I "still played with Lego". I then pointed out that I run a Bricklink store and make more money than he does. He shut up. My business-oriented friend said he "was proud". -
To learn all about Minfig customization, check out the Minifig Customation Workshop. You'll find lots of topics that display custom figures and decals. Since you're looking more specifically for Pirates stuff, I would recommend checking out The Great Pirate Torso Library. You'll find lots of official and unofficial decals here, and if for whatever reason you didn't find what you wanted, you could give a specific request in the Decal Wish List thread. Hope this helped.

I really like this series you've built! Quite a bit of story is packed into each one, yet nothing feels crowded. I like the nice, tidy house in the first one. The game piece baby is a nice technique, as well as the nice wall decorating. This part of the set looks quite sleek and professional. The second one doesn't make as much sense, but is still cool. I agree with Sir Dillon that the colored castles, don't make much sense, but the mini catapults are pure win. I'm also a fan of the toy horses you've made, although I cringe thinking of how you got them. The last one seems to be the weakest of the three. The fire catapult is a little close IMHO. Also, I again agree with Sir Dillon that the wife shouldn't be in the middle of the battle. However, I do like the expression on the guy behind the wall's face. I like the jagged look of the wall. Overall, a nice trio. They seem to lose quality as the story progresses, but the techniques and ideas used are genius. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome review, awesome set. This is one of the true classics of Pirate sets. The uncommon Midi Scale ship is quite interesting, and really works well with the set. I love the good 'ol pirate minifigs, especially the rare printed torso. This set is simply full of amazing touches from the extra storage in the loft and underground, to the nice dock and big base. If Pirates returns anytime, I would definitely want sets like this that are superb all-around, and civilian-based for that matter. Thanks for the review.

Yeah, I'm addicted. Even if I'm not an incredibly active poster, I definitely check for new posts every few minutes that I'm in my room. I use the New Posts option over the Active Topics, because if for whatever reason I'm away more than a day (no way!) I can see everything I missed. I spend so much valuable time to do other things, but time here is so nice for me. It's like a perfect little community I can escape to when the day is rough.

Wow, the resemblance to Svelte's one is incredible. I would have preferred the dinosaur-leaves to the flowers in the front. The one thing I find particularly strange is the giant advertisement board on top. It blends in with the top border, but in the small pictures you can clearly see there's a board on the roof. Heck, I'll probably get this anyways, but it's a little bit of a let down for now. I'm with TheOtters on this one.

MOC: "Quoth the raven, 'nevermore'."
Inconspicuous replied to Tereglith's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I believe it is the Bust of Pallas from the poem. Great job with this Tereglith. It's always been one of my favorite poems, and I really like the way you've brought it to life. I personally love some of the details you've included like the bookshelf, feather pen on the desk, dying embers, and cute little chair. I don't think the exterior looks too bad either. As it's been said before, the roof is an important part to address. Another minor thing that I think would really benefit this is to make it bigger. Right now, it feels a little bit cramped. When reading the title, I imagined a study more like the size of the one from this Simpsons parody. But overall, a good job. -
I would really appreciate it if someone could make decals for the torso and legs of the Elf on the right in this picture: You can click it for a slightly sharper version. Thanks in advance.

Yes! I've been waiting a while for this. Awesome job as always. Your animation is superb and the humor is wonderful. I like these little commercials. Poor kittens! Keep 'em coming!

Bricklink says that the box is 2590 grams and 58x38x9 centimeters. I'm not sure how accurate Bricklink is, but this seems reasonable. I don't own the set, but maybe someone who does can verify. Hope this helped.

Prohibition Mafia: Conclusion
Inconspicuous replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The moment I saw that, I knew you were scum. There was no point me calling you out on it, since my goal for the day was getting Big Cam out. But really, the scum were so obvious towards the end. I still can't believe you voted out Quarryman for the booze, but I think that was a really fatal mistake on the hosts' part. -
Prohibition Mafia: Conclusion
Inconspicuous replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Roy Orborson (Townie): You pose as a simple nurse, but you are really an BOI agent. Along with Ryan Alberts, you poke fun at him, because he has to wear rags all day, and you get to sit in a nice office all day. You have no night actions, but you can not be killed at night. This is because you barricade yourself in the office every night, after meeting with Ryan. You have no other night actions, and are a townie. You win when all the scum are killed or captured. The part of my role that I really should have tried to use was the fact that I was unkillable at night. Quarryman and my original plan was to claim I was the investigator and have the scum/serial killer waste their kill on me. The one thing that confuses me is that, isn't the serial killer technically guaranteed to win? -
Prohibition Mafia: Conclusion
Inconspicuous replied to Bob's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Dammit! WhiteFang had me duped the whole time! I really should have listened to Mr. DA some more. Well, it was a really fun game. Thanks for including me in my first one! You mobsters really outplayed us. By the time I had figured out that Big Cam, Shadows, and Simonjedi were scum, it was too late. Thanks for a fun game everyone! -

What did I tell you? Get ready for the conclusion. I truly hope you with night actions may be able to turn this around. -
Prohibition Mafia Confirmation & Discussion
Inconspicuous replied to Darth_Legois's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
It's not as fun when you're on the losing side for the day. I tried my best, but I guess I'm still a padawan in the ways of these games, so I was unsuccessful. And jeez JimBee, I thought everyone learned to count to eight in Kindergarten or first grade. -
Nope. You missed JimButcher's vote back on Page 2.
-
Congratulations! You just lost the game! Good job scum. C'mon Ryan, let's get out of here before that evil Governor can shoot you.

I admit our story sounds suspicious. However, would real scum actually scramble that much to avoid getting ONE person voted out? Would real scum be stupid enough to tell people that two different people were loyal investigators? NO. I understand your suspicions, but can you see things from our perspective? We've been trying to hang low and stay undercover. Ryan tried a bit too hard and became suspicious. I decided that my identity didn't matter very much, so I became more active. Mark my words, Jimmy Palmer, John Wilder, Lucy Gordon, Andrew Gordon, and most likely Chief Mike Johnson and Alfred Winder are scum. Since the game is about to end anyways, care to explain what this "reliable intel" is? I've explained my case. Good job scum.
