  1. once my shipment of motors comes, I will post a pic of my design idea, not sure if it will work. Hopefully it comes today
  2. thanks for the input, I think I am going to do 4 axle, with one steerable axle and three rear axles
  3. Ok, I wish I knew that I when I bought the motors... Ya well
  4. Hey guys, I am planning on building a cabover heavy hauler truck. I was planning on a 4 axle truck with a steerable axle. Now I am reconsidering a 5 axle double steer axle cabover truck. Do you think that would be too much? Something sorta like this: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=500175
  5. That is my concern. If I'm going to buy a tipper, it would be for the Volvo. And if it will be loading 1 kg plus, the tipper truck should be able to handle it, shouldn't it?
  6. Oh sorry I should have read, before I posted. Thanks
  7. I just saw ur hook lift/ dump truck. Do u still have it built, I am looking for a mechanism that is motorized like that. Do you still have it built? This is what I'm talking about.
  8. Thanks to the tip.. But the model is already in pieces and ready for MOC-ing
  9. What would the resistor value have to be?
  10. true and we got a lot of gears for a simple motion. 53 gears to lower a buncha LAs, I am fine with that. I will find a use for them somewhere, but not all for the same thing, haha
  11. It is a terrible geartrain, too bad it is not staying together too long. Need the parts for a project im working on. For those of you who are curious, the geartrain going from the motor to the up/down movement of the outriggers is 53 gears. That is CRAZY!
  12. so if I have an LED with a max voltage of 2.6 do I need a resistor?
  13. I just did the motion without using a motor, it worked by was pretty tough to do. So that means that the gearing is fine.
  14. that is what efferman was taking about
  15. the bevel gears are correct. It sounds like motor cant handle the load.
  16. Hey guys, I finished building my 42009 crane, but the outriggers wont go down?! they go out and everything else works. I looked over everything to make sure I didn't forget anything, but all look good. Can any think of anything else that might be the problem (not including the user)
  17. Thanks for all your help!!! videos were helpful.
  18. I finally got the 42009 mobile crane :D
  19. Oh, oops I did not have it in front of me. Sorry
  20. Turn off the model, remove any gear from the servo, and turn it back on. Then put the gear back. This should work
  21. You are correct, this is strictly a pf vehicle design.
  22. In the Volvo, I believe it was the power functions that made it so expensive. When I was debating on buying it, i totaled up the cost for the pf alone and it was almost half of the cost. so it was the pf that made it so expensive for the smaller part count
  23. WOW, looks great. Minor changes really do something to a MOC. great job!
  24. Ok, but their is not much to connect to if you are using thin liftarms. I understand what u r saying, I am just not sure how to apply it. Haha, i have to order my motors yet. hopefully Christmas brings some I looked at the picture, i see that you can connect the chassis to the red 7 long liftarms that you have at the ends of the thin liftarms.
