  1. I really like this one, great job. I like the name allot and I think it suits the building well. There are a few things I would change though. First the dark green slope doesn't really fit there, I would use a grey one instead, and I personally would use the other pirate flag.I do like the water but maybe a boat to show how they got there would be a good idea.
  2. I like this but the only thing that seems off is the front of the water being so many pieces. One brick would smooth it out more and give a better water affect.
  3. I had a mini heart attack seeing this last night but it was too late to post. Finally we got the ship we deserve. The ebay prices for this in 10 years will be astronomical.
  4. I like diversity allot more. The only time that I use the same head more than once or twice in a MOC is when it's the classic smiley.
  5. Why don't we get to vote in a 3-2-1 way or a 3 points way like in past contests? I would love to use some of my 3 points throughout a few of the MOCs.
  6. This is simply amazing, words cant describe the awesomeness of this entry but legos can. I believe you have my vote.
  7. I like the improvements and with better pictures tomorrow this is one top notch MOC.
  8. I like the overall idea but its hard to see with the camera angles. An overall shot from the front would be nice as would one that better shows the pool. I would also suggest to add some interior details and maybe a different railing from the fence. This part would look better, as would a brick-built one as the other looks too modern. I also like the idea of a palm fan but this one looks blocky. I would use this and attach the handle part to the clip on the leaf. Other than that though this looks like a good entry with some promise to be a great one.
  9. I like some of the updates but I don't like the mixing of fleshie figs and yellow ones. The tree certainly gives it more of a jungle feel but I personally liked the first top better. The second layer is fantastic though with the treasure and the rocks. I'm not sure what's happening in the bottom layer though because its hard to see with all the minifigs there. I think that one less pirate would help because you would be able to see the bottom layer better. The grate used on the bottom looks a little out of place I think a plate and some tiles would work better to give it an underground feel.
  10. I feel the same way about the lamp, I think it looks to modern. There are some good lamp designs here so maybe these will help. I would also relate the pic so the soldiers face is showing. I'm not sure what you mean in the last part though I can see the pic fine. Overall great job and welcome to Eurobricks.
  11. I actually think that this entry would work better in the small category because then you could focus better on the knitting. I think that a plate some pirate accessories and maybe some cats would work better than trying to make it a medium entry. Good luck in the contest though, this is one hilariously peaceful idea.
  12. I think that the majority of the first wave would be like the first Indy wave, with allot of sets from the new movie. I think we could see some nice buildings and ships if this line is real but the figs would be to weird for me.
  13. Hi I did a search but couldn't find a topic so here we go.. Does anyone on Eurobricks play Maria Wars for the ipod/iphone? For those of you who don't know what this is http://markofmafia.com/website/browser. Because family codes are such a large part of the game I thought whoever plays could post theirs here in order to add family members. Here's mine: 241733672
  14. I like this one and it's backstory but I have two small suggestions. First I would love to see some buried treasure underground like the others and secondly I would replace the water with this piece. I have seen it used as pouring water before and in my opinion it looks fantastic. I'll also give you bonus points for using a frog in your entry.
  15. I like the title, (and guns and women) but overall the scene looks a little barren. Like others have said the dock would look better with tiles. I also think the inside would look better with real bricks for walls, giving you a chance to add shelves or something else for decoration, and the pirate outside looks a little odd with two peg legs (I'm not sure how he would balance ) I do like the use of tiles for water here though and the very detailed roof. If you brought the rest of the MOC to the same level of detail as the roof the whole thing would be stunning.
  16. I really like this one so there are only a few things you could change. I would dust off some of the pieces, especially the hats, and retake the last picture. Those are just small things and aside from that I really love this entry, good luck in the contest. p.s. I like the figs the way they are, I wouldn't change them.
  17. I would also like to see a Thunder Mountain set with the new track pieces from the temple of doom. It could be run with some kind of motor but it wouldn't have to be.
  18. I like the second one better and I agree the shield needs to be lower on the first one.
  19. I really like this one. I always wished that TLC made a set like this. The whole thing is great and the rigging is perfect. The SNOT work on the bow really adds to the overall shape of the boat.
  20. I also agree that this doesn't quite fit the criteria but he general idea is there. I like the idea of the pirates coming back a year later and seeing all the damage but I'm not sure how well this shows it. I think there are somethings that could help like the use of this head instead of the undead one because it adds realism. There should also be some plants to show how the island has overgrown in a year. Also more pirate accessories like hats and guns would make this more of a pirate MOC than a castle one. Some living pirates coming back for whatever reason and some water around the island would also help.
  21. It does have doors but I guess I forgot to take pictures of that side. The train only stops on one side on my layout so doors on both sides are not needed, and trust me it looks odd with doors on both sides. I just meant that I only own one train set and didn't but any parts for the contest. There have recently been alot of train crashes around here due to drivers texting while driving so I thought I'd add some realism to my MOC.
  22. ENTERED I'm going to apologize in advance for the quality of the pictures but my new computer doesn't have photoshop yet so I did what I could with Picnik. This train was loosely inspired by the MBTA in Boston but there's not much of a resemblance so I don't have a link. Overall I'm quite pleased at how this turned out but the doors could have been better. I tried not to bricklink any of the parts so I had to do with my one train set, and this is my first train MOC but I figured I would join in bringing in the new forum with this entry. There are some more pics, including ones of the inside on Flickr
  23. It looks good but with those LDD prices it's probably like $500
  24. Good Qualities I really like the idea of pirates relaxing on a day off and I the island looks good. It's like we get a small cross-section of the island and of the Pirates day. The keep out sign is a nice touch and I like the finding the frog game. (took me a little while to find it) Contrary to some other people I like the horse, the pirates needed something to get around the island. The use of heads here is also nice because this is a nice tribute to the original classic pirates with most of the heads and torsos. Improvements I think that this entry could greatly improve with some better pictures. Any kind of editing program will do but it is also important to take pictures in the correct lighting I also think that some more foliage around the back where the horse and the lookout are would help to give it that pirate hideout feel. Maybe some treasure here or somewhere else would help too because what's a pirate hideout without treasure. The side would probably be better if done like this (not mine recently featured on TBB) The black and white is distracting. I especially like idea of the puking pirate, looks like he had a little to much rum , but I think it might look better as some of the green flame pieces. Overall a nice way to start off and I wish you good luck in the contest.
  25. I would like to creatively critique.
