I just don't think the Indy theme is well suited to a UCS set. When you see the Batmobile or the Death Star you instantly think Batman and Star Wars. I don't think of Indiana Jones when I see a Zeppelin or a tank though. (the lack of a swastika on the back would also be very obvious) I think that Larger $150 price range sets with many minifigs would work and sell better, possibly of the opening temple or the library and tomb.

A Hostage Situation
Tom Bricks replied to KingUndertheMountain's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I actually like that there's no story, it makes you free to create your own. Great lighting affects by the way. -
I had a dream like this once that I found a tub of old Lego on the street leading to my house. I also recently had a half dream half awake thing where I was I minifig walking around my city display. That one was pretty cool.

The building on the corner would make a great set in any theme. I would love that sort of small restaurant with the awnings.

It at least looks like an new head, and those are always nice. Other than that though the minifig looks meh . I hope the other fractions figs will be better.

*** Bonaparte: Moved from the petition thread *** What are the thoughts on submitting a review on Lego.com asking for a wider availability? I think this may be a more direct or at least another way to reach TLC. **My signature has already been signed sorry for multiple posts in this thread**

Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
Tom Bricks replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates

If you only have classic town sets I would but Town Plan. If you want a modular house though I would go for CC. I think it would fit better with regular town buildings than GG. Personally though the modular houses are addicting and you my find yourself wanting more.

All these sets look better than I expected. I will certainly get the army men set and maybe the WW one.

I actually found this out only yesterday, from that NY Times article I believe. I just thought that they where only in europe. On the other hand, I thought Maersk was fake until I saw a truck on the streets one day...

I also like circus trains, and I would love to see TLC release one. I'm not sure what you mean by a dinosaur car though, is it like a car to hold dino's or is it a car shaped like a dinosaur?
-
Looks great, I never really liked the official sets either. I would recommend taking more pictures, maybe with a better background though so that everyone can see the train better.

Wow this is incredible. You must have put allot of time into this. If this was ever made into a movie it would be a huge project but it would be epic. Good luck. If you didn't want to make a movie because of the length perhaps you could write an illustrated book?

A detailed review for such a small set. The main model looks pretty good but the others could use some work. If I see this some place though I'll be sure to pick it up.

Yes! Now Harry Potter can battle Voldemort on the high seas! This is a great rendition though, everything looks historically accurate.

What's your favourite Lego colour?
Tom Bricks replied to Dr Kilroy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Mine would be, in no order, medium blue, sand green, and dark green. Pretty much any of the the special colors are nice though. Are you in the Reviewer's Academy? -
What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Tom Bricks replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I would love a super hero theme, and because the licensed ones never seem to last they should make their own. How about a superman type character with an "L" instead of a "S"? -
MOCs: 4-piece (!) blender, popcorn stand, and more!
Tom Bricks replied to Still Raindrop's topic in LEGO Town
I love the mime in the last picture. Good job on the others too, the blender would have to be my favorite. -
The VCC is very impressive, those boats where rater complicated without the bag. I think I'd like to try this next time I buy a small set.

LEGO Pieces you like but most AFOLs hate
Tom Bricks replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I also like BURP's and LURP's when they are used correctly. They support anything pretty well. I also like baseplates which I have heard are unpopular among some AFOL's. -
As I don't actually own one and you do you probably know better, but in most cases I would find something with a motor like the Carousel or a train to have more play value instead of less.

I was actually wondering about this earlier. When I restarted collecting Lego a year or so ago (never had a dark ages but just stopped buying sets) I think I figured that I would build a scene and then play in it but I got away from that and I still feel like anything I build is never complete. I guess I kind of lost the ability to play like I used too. However I recently bought Robo Attack and I surprised myself at how much I played with it. I also play with my younger cousin when he comes over my house and we had a great wild west battle. It kind of saddens me that I don't play as much as I'd like to as I'm not even a legal adult yet. I feel bad knowing that my younger self would have loved to play with everything I built but that now I am mostly thinking of the next thing I'm going to build. I think these are some of the reasons that people like me don't play as much as they used too: 1.I actually feel like I can play with one small set more than playing with my entire collection. When I was on vacation in March I bought a few sets there and enjoyed playing with them because I felt that there was no more building to do. I didn't go as far as naming the minifigs like I used too but I enjoyed some good pirate vs. knight battles. 2. I also listen to music as I build and I have my computer on so I kind of feel like that doesn't allow me to play. I think that they are too distracting to me to focus on a story or something. Instead I just listen to the music or look at the posts on Eurobricks. I would certainly like to start playing again and I know this sounds ridiculous but I'm going to try to play tonight!

Could anyone else confirm this? I would love for this to be true but without somebody else this seems unlikely. hplegolover91 could you maybe show us a copy of the email?

This actually isn't too bad, I think I might make that bike out of Lego... -
[MOC]: Blessed Agostino Novello Altarpiece
Tom Bricks replied to mautara's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
These are nicely done, I especially like the halo and the color in the buildings, as thats not very common in medieval MOCs. Lots of attention to detail too, a big from me.
