Hard to believe that this is the 20- and 10-year anniversary of 2006 and 2016, two of the most seminal years for Technic. Obviously I'll reserve judgement until the rest of the set numbers are known, but I think it's safe to say that this theme has fallen a long, long way.

Now that you mention it, I see a lot of parallels between this set and 42094, especially the gear setup on the back.

I do, I do! The multicoloured gears don't bother me that much, probably because Volvo and green go so well together! I am a bit baffled as to why TLG didn't use a black gear on top for the steering, though. Maybe it's an inventory/distribution thing.

He's legendary, but I'd actually pick Michael Jeppesen. He can keep his views on my country's political situation to himself, but he's been behind some sets than run the gamut from cool to absolutely amazing - 42006, 42021, 42042, 42054, 42081, 42114... I could go on! Plus I'll always have the memories of 8226 from when I borrowed it off a mate.

It's that flattened cab as well. Makes it look like a Dickie toy. Plus, the front mudguards are yellow, when they should plainly be black. That has just slapped me in the face like a wet fish. EDIT: Some versions of the L120 Electric do have yellow mudguards, so I'll retract that.

Sadly, memories of Rock Raiders will never justify £350.
