Does make me wonder how the bucket is going to be handled. Given that the bucket is a proprietary Volvo design, I'd put my money on it being a single element like the loader bucket.
I doubt it, personally. I'd think TLG would stick with normal orange, seeing as it would be the lower-cost option.
From what I've read in this article, this is the definitive EC500 Hybrid, and the version we'll be seeing in set form.
And the bucket is indeed mahoosive - 1.5 - 4.33 yd³.
Given that we now know the EC500 is the 18+ set for this year (for strong language, I'm guessing), I wonder if TLG are going all out and doing the High Reach model.
EDIT: Nope, it'll be this.
Since we can reasonably assume that the EC500 is based around CON+TROLL, there'll probably be some interactive mode that revolves around the hammer touching various surfaces and "drilling" them.
I did post an image of the EC500 here. But I can see what you're talking about; this looks more like the version TLG is going with. Plus, now I can definitely see where 2400 parts would go. I'm guessing there'll be a lot of tubing used in the same way as on 42100.
Exactly.
An EC750 would be a better choice in that case.
A hammer is also a demolition attachment, so it still qualifies. A shear would have been cooler, though.
How would a hammer even work? Maybe something like the pile driver from 42082.
