  1. New movie coming out in april. Its called redline. http://www.redlinethemovie.com/trailers.aspx A bunch of drivers compete in a race in some very nice exotic cars. Looks good. *y*
  2. Wow, did i not meation in my post that it was upgraded FROM THE FACTROY???!!! I was simply pointing out that even the factory themselfs found a way to improve on what you call "the perfect there can be nothing in the world done to improve on them car. I agree with brainbox on this one. There are plenty of times were an owner can take it a bit over the top. I do agree that the WRONG set rims can ruin a car,(not every aftermarket rim out there looks good) but if the right set is choosen that complements that overall flow of the vehicle, then it can be a drastic improvment. LOL, well someone does! X-D *y* Cool to see differnt styles of the Beetle huh? I just couldn't imagine a world were everyone drove the same car/truck. How bland would that be? :-(
  3. Now your being a complete hypocrite. You just went from saying all modified cars were horrible, to "if profesional tunners do it its ok". Oh, and just an FYI, Hamann is a profesional tunner, right up there with brabus. It is a modified car. It is modified from the factory with the weekend racer in mind. You said it, not me. So whats the differnce is a private party makes modifcation to improve performanace so they can compete on weekend races? You obviously don't know much about race cars as you think. A good set of aftermarket rims and tires can dramaticly improve a cars performance if it is wider, and with less side wall flex than stock. Not really. Dude, you need to realize that not everyone has $200,000 to drop a ferrari, or any of the other exotics you previouly meantioned. And no, it doesn't cost someone that much to add modifcations with rims tires and stereo's. You say you don't want to be called a kid, then i sugjest you stop acting like one and be a little more open minded. Look atit this way.. What if you posted a pic of a LEGO set you bought, but made some modifcations and everyone slammed you cause you decided "ruin a perfectly good set" as you put it. I realize that LEGO and Ferrari (or any real car for that matter) aren't exatlyin the same leauge, but to many there both hobbies.
  4. Good find Xwingyoda! I wans't aware Koenig wasa ferrari tunner! Great examples! :-)
  5. You don't think so? Man, you are so ignorant its not even funny. :-( It really is just sad. Sorry, but modified Ferrari DO EXIST!! Just cause you and your dad haven't seen any at your precious ferrari shows. They have Ferrari shows once a year in Monterey Califorina and have plenty of modified examples. There not as rare as you think. You also are obviously not a fan of racing then either since all race cars are... MODIFIED!!! 8-|
  6. Didn't mean to insult you. I apauligize. Like i said, its all about personal taste. There are alot of things that you don't need when it comes to cars. Whats the point of having a car that is capable of going 200mph when the speed limit is 70? (at least here in the states). I knew that when i bought my passat that i was going to modifiy it. You see tons of them a day, but i was one of the few with modifcations. Not everyone mods there car to be faster, but i'll agree that if i was after pure performance i'd start out with a car that was designed with that in mind from the factory. My main goal with the passat wasn't pure performance, but to just build an all around better car to fit my taste. Brainbox brings up a good point. Though i love modified cars, not all are done tastefully. Some are over done and ridiculous. The biggest example is the "Donk" car craze her in the U.S. Umm, actually yes, i have seen plenty of modified examples of all the cars (exept the zondas. Don't think ther avaible here in the U.S.) you just meantioned. Like i said i used to enter my car in car shows, and there were groups of people or "show teams" that were nothing but modified high dollar cars. Problem is that i don't beilve that there is a such thing as a "perfect car" as you put it. Reason being is that everyone has differnt taste. Thats why people modifiy. Still don't agree, lets look at it in a couple differnt ways. Lets take Ferrari for example. By your previous posts they seem to be your favorite and in your eyes, "Perfect". The Enzo is there flagship, and therefore the best. But whats this? Even ferrari found a way to improve over there own design. Its called the Enzo FX. And if every car was perfect (including exotics) then manufactuers wouldn't need to make improvments to ther models every year. Also, all the cars you meantioned are quite nice, but are out of the reach of the average person. So that people buy more resonable priced cars to start out with. In many cases can acheive the same or more times better level of performance for a fraction of the cost. Please don't take this as knocking your taste. I love exotics and am also a big fan of Ferrari, but please have amore open mind. You can't knock down a car because it has differnt rims and tires (witch can improve a cars handling performance(yes, i understand that not all rims out there look good on certain vehicles))
  7. You have alot to learn kid. You seem to know a decent amount about cars, but you also are a bit ignorant about them as well. Don't like my car, thats fine. There's nothing wrong with upgrading a factory car. In the case of my passat, i improved it on nearly very level. Speed, handling, braking comfort, etc. As far as looks go thats just personal taste. Nobody thinks its cool? Again, your ignorance is your down fall. The car aftermarket is a $2,000,000,000 dollar a year buisness, and its growing every year. So what do you consider a "real" car then?
  8. NOt true in recent years. You are right that most concepts are just examples of the manufactures new technoligies, there have been plenty of cars that started out as concepts, but ended up being put into production. A few examples are the Dodge Viper, Dodge Prowler, new Ford Mustang, Ford GT, VW Bettle, Toyota tundra, Toyota FJ Cruiser, and the most recent examples, the New Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger. Those these are still concepts, it was anounced they will be put into production. Though the production car is never exactly what the concept was, all the previous meantioned cars were very close to there concepts. Its all about personalization. Just because someone spends thousands and thousands on modifcations dosen't mean they spent it all in one sitting. It takes some people years to get modifcations done to there vehicle. Some do performance, some do looks. You can tell alot about someone by the car they drive. Espeacially if its a modified one. This was my last car... 03 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T. Had close to $10,000 U.S. dollars in upgrades. I entered it in many car shows in the 4 years i had her. Won a few trophies even. I look back and realize that i'll probbly never put that much money into a car again enless i'm restoring my dream classic American Muscle car. I had a friend in high school that had a modified 93 Mustang that would spank an production Ferrari in a drag race. (and he did. Boy that was a fun night X-D ) Could he out corner one? No. But he didn't build it to go around corners. He built it to be fast in a straight line. My current ride is an 07 Toyota FJ cruiser. He's stock for now (yes its a He :-P ), but i plan on adding a 3" lift with 33' tires a small stereo system that doesn't interfer with the cargo area. I bought this truck because i needed somthing more practial for work (i build police cars and other emergency vehicles for a living) so radical mods won't work for me. But modifing cars is in my blood, like Lego's are for all of us! So what ever vehicle i own will be modded in some way or another!
  9. Not trying to be mean, but is it really nessasarry to preorder this? Some people have made some good points. Though this is without a doubt a very impressive set, because of price and size somthing tells me that this won't sell out the second it becomes avaible. I'd love to have this set to (and i'm not even a star wars fan), but i just can't see myself spending $500. Not trying come down on anyone who does though. To each his own. :-)
  10. looks like this guy figured out how to build an intereior... http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=8197 I'd love to see this when complete.
  11. Saw this while brousing brickshelf... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=233143 Though i have no idea how structuly solid this is, it is no doubt extremely impresive. (and i'm not even a star wars fan)
  12. goodness. Nearly 3 feet long, and 2 feet wide. Heck i'm more enterested in where people are going to be putting this behemoth than a set review. :-D
  13. Has anyone bought from this site before? Is the quality as good as lego? I'd like to get some, but for the price just want to make sure its good stuff.
  14. I'd love to see somthing like this Its been over ten years since lego had an RV, or as those of you in europe call them "caravans" in there line up. Although a better truck would be in order for towing, but you get the idea. The trailer would have a bed room, kitchen, and living area, and at least on slide out. The truck could be 6 wide, and trailer could be 8 wide. Include a male and female mini fig.
  15. I'll be adding all 3 to my collection. Espeacially the bulldozer. That has to be the best techinc set ever put out by lego. (i can just hear glyman coming to the defense of the air tech claw rig! :-D ). I have to agree with hobbes, that the combine will lookgreat with the tractor of last year!
  16. Umm... No Actullay. I know plenty of people that using cad as "blue prints" so to speak for there upcoming prodjects. they then buy the parts they need off bricklink to complete there models. There are plenty of examples cad and then the actual model on brickshelf.
  17. Cads aren't soposed to impress, but give you an idea of what your final project will look like when completed,or lets you know what parts would be involved in a build. I haven't used cad designs for any of my mocs, but have been thinking about it for some large upcoming projects.(though i'm sure it would be much more fun hands on).
  18. I'm going to start this once i get back from my buisness trip. The trailer will be used to transport one of the 1:17 scale ferrari cars. Rear will be for the car, and front will a shop with tool boxes tires etc. Somthing like this on the inside. I might make it a stacker so i can carry two if i can figure out how to make a working lift inside the trailer. Only problem is i'm going to use 4404 truck to tow it, so a trailerthat big might look out of scale behind that truck.
  19. Went and saw "Night at the Museum" a few days ago and saw the new Transformers movie trailer. Its also up on there website. http://www.transformersmovie.com/main.html On the web site they also have a "videos" section where they anwser some fan questions about the movie. I for one am looking forward to it. Does it look like the original? Nope. Not even close. Any sence about wining about it? Nope. I think the new designs look preety cool. I also like the fact that the vioces of all the caracters is staying the same as the original "G1" series.
  20. So lately i'm noticing that i'm lossing my ability to moc the older i'm getting. I remeber at 14 riding my bike around my neighbor hood, seeing a car, truck, trailer etc.. riding home as fast as i could and building it in a matter of hours. Now i'm 25 and mocs that would ussually take a few hours, or a couple half days at most is taking near a month. There not bad mocs, but there nothing spectacular either. Being 25, I of course have alot more responsabilites than at 14 that take up my time, but my idea's just aren't coming to me like they did. anyone else notice this the older there getting? Whats next, a cane and war stories to the grand children? :-D
  21. it was this for me.... what... Mobile crane year.... 1986 i give it a *skull* *skull* *skull* *skull* *skull* out of *skull* *skull* *skull* *skull* *skull* I still remeber opening it up at christmas!!!
  22. went and saw "Night at the Museum" a few days ago and saw the new Transformers movie trailer. 23. So iv'e been playing the PS3 at my buddy's house. Its cool, but not worth all the hype. My 360's grafics are better and my buddy agrees. I understand it will take time for game makers to take advantage of the PS3's capabilites, but like i siad, it just wasn't worth all the hype. As for the Wii, it really just depends on the type of games you like. I'm a huge fan of racing games, and first person shooters, and the Wii is seriously lacking on both, so i'll pass on that. But if you really like fishing, or a bunch of little rabbit things running around, i guess the Wii would the choice.
  24. So do the wheels turn like in the picture? By the looks of the clearance in the front wheel wells, it doesn't look like there's room.
  25. OK, so i was just able to veiw the video files of the bulldozer. Wow. This has to be the BEST TECHNIC SET EVER!!! *y* *y* *y* *y* Without a doubt i will be purchasing this et when it is released. I aslo took a look at the rest of the 07 sets. This has to be a huge improvment in resent year for all themes. I'm not a star wars fan, but the drone transport ship is very impresive. I also like the new Mars Mision theme. Some of those ships look really good! But i think the best theme is going to be town. The detail on thes sets is great. I espeacially like the dump truck. I found myself staring at that set of some time. I really like the garbae truck too. I really like the 6 wide trucks. There more to scale than the 4 wide of the yester years. my olny complaint that i can see is that the new crates in the harbor are now 6 wide. I have quite a few of the old 4 wide crates in my town theme that might propose a problem working into the new harbor set. Oh well. I guess not all cargo is meant to be the same size. This is going to be a great year!
