  1. No problem *sweet* http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...st=0#entry83262
  2. Well i posted a pic of my car that i have been moddifing for the last few years in another thread. People have asked a few questions about it, so in order to keep that thread on trac, and to answer all the questions about my ride i thought i'd make a seperate thread about her. X-D My ride- 03 Volkswagen Passat GLS Sedan. It is the FWD (front wheel drive) model with the 1.8T engine. The reason i choose this car is even though the Passat is my no means a rare car in the U.S., but it is very rare to see one modified like i have done mine. I have entered in well over 20 shows in the last 4 years with this car. Somtimes i get a throphie, somtimes i don't. Thats not whay i did car show though. I went to meet people and hang out with friends. Modifcations- Exterior- -Zender concepts front bumper/valance -painted factory side skirts and rear valance -custom tinted side markers -Kamei front grill and eyelids -35% front and 20% rear window tint -european "20V" and "Turbo" badges -custom "5150-B55" european license plate Interior- -custom painted dash trim peices -under dash neon lighting -Momo shift knob, and shift boot -W8 passat door, and dash crome trim -european taxi cab 6th switch -ABD silver face gauges -custom triple a-pillar gauge pod -autometer C2 gauges-volt turbo boost, and oil temp. -sparco pedal set -custom made diamond plate floor mats (for shows only) stereo/mobiletronics- -AVIC N1 flip out TV screen with Navigation -2 12" JL Audio W6 sub woofers -Eclispe audio 1200 watt amplifer -custom stereo enclosure with neon lighting and plexiglass (I'll have to take a picture and you guys this. its the only way to really appriaciate it! X-D ) -stinger 1.0 farad capasitor Engine/performace- The car is equiped with the 1.8 turbochaged 4cly engine with the following upgrades -GIAC X chip -GFB Blow off valve -2.5"down pipe -Custom cat back exhaust with 2.5" pipping and magnaflow muffler -ABD intake (still needs to be installed) -hard pipping to stock intercooler Wheels/Suspention -19" 3 peice introforge rims black with poilished centers (19x8.5 front 19x9.5 rear) these are my summer/show rims -18x8 RSA's (for daily driving and winter time) -Eibach coilover suspention (lowered 3" in front and 2.75" in rear) -brembo cross drilled sloted brake rotors I'll be getting some more pics when i take some of the new techinc tractor Al coments are welcome good, or bad. I'm also more than happy to anwser any question anyone might have about the car, or the shows i have done. Or even what kind of cars are most popular to modify in the U.S. X-D
  3. Good find! I'm in the same ballpark. I already forked out $60 for the tractor, so loks like i'll have to wait a week or two for the crane. No biggie though. I'm going to see if i can get my girlfriend to get it for me for my birthday! ;-)
  4. Finished the tractor a couple days ago. I have to say i'm pretty impressed. Not the most featrues in a techinc set, but what it does it does very well. Tilt axle in the front, steering, and a very nice grass cutter atachment in the rear whitch can be raised and lower. It is conected to the drive wheels, and spins as the tractor moves forward. It also has a reaaly nice feature where you can disconect the blades from the drive wheels via a transmission catchover. I'm going to take pics tonight, and attempt my first review by the end of the week. Bear with me!
  5. No problem. I used to show my 03 VW Passat. I love it, and the best part is that its differnt. I'm always getting asked what kind of car it is. Most think its an Audi, or Saab. I've even got mercades a few times. Here it is at its prim. If you want, i can list all the mods i did to it.
  6. So is this going to be a CGI film? Or will there be acctual people in this? Looks good from the poster at least.
  7. Hmm... Well i got back into lego about this time last year. Up to this point, i probbly have between $2,000 to $2,500. That includes new sets, bricklink orders, old sets, and gifts. If you don't include the gifts, probbly $2,000. These are just rough estemtes. It might even be more. This year i probbly have spent around $500. This might seem alot to some, but this is still cheaper than when i used to fix up my car. I used to spend $500 a month on parts. Then i used to show the car at car shows. If the show wasn't local, i would have to get a hotel room. If you include the hotel room , the entry cost of the show, and fod and what not, it could turn out to be a $400 weekend. So yes, this collectinglego iisn't the cheapiest, but it defently isn't the most expensive either. Lego also don't have to be an expensive hobby ether. Thats whats so great about it. If you don't like what you have, take it apart and build somthing else! When i used to show my car, some of the guys on my show team would spend over 2,000 a month on mods.
  8. No problem yoda! Ya, i'm building the tractor as we speak, so i'll be getting a review up later this week! So far its a nice build!
  9. I went to TRU to find some 1:24 scale model cars (my other hobby) when i decided to check out the lego section. what did i see? the new green monster that lego calls a dune buggy. I wasn't to thrilled about the dune buggy, but i flipped the box over, and saw they had building instructions for the tractor that was seen first eariler in the year. It was thought that the US would get the dun buggy, and the rest of the world would get the tractor, and both would use the same part number. well now we know that you can build either with the same set. Snagged it up for $59.00. haven't even opened it up yet.
  10. Great find Hobbes! I'm guessing that this isn't released yet, and that he must be a lego ambasador or somthing. I for one am looking forward to this set. Yes it may be big, but i for one enjoy the bigger sets. Correct me if i'm wrong, but this is the first crawler crane lego has made. I really like how you can add differnt boom lenths/combinations, whitch helps this set be more versatile. A defanite on my must have list.
  11. I don't have that particular coach, but as you can see in the second picture of my layout it can lift the 7044 Rescue Chopper which has considerable weight. Unless you try the quite heavy Santa Fe cars I don't think it'll have any problems lifting train coaches. Maybe a second counterweight might help. But then I would exchange the two black Technic axles that hold the weight with Technic bricks/breams cos the axles will surely bend with more weight (they do slightly with the one weight already). I'll try one of my coaches, though, cos I'm interested in the weight limit myself. Great review Hobbes! Posibly one of the best i've seen on these forums! I bought this set on bricklink last week and built it a couple days ago. As far as the wieght limit, i've found that its not a factor of the crane tipping over, but that the hook pops off. I haven't found a fix, other than switching it out with a techinc hook (the same that comes with 8464 mobile crane) but i'm working on it. The best i've lifted has been the heavy loader bridge with the toilet on it. I'm going to add more counter weights, and a better hook and atempt to lift the dual pontoon race boat (sorry can't remeber the number ). I know that might be stretching it a bit, but thats the heaviest i got the XXL mobile crane to lift without tipping over, so i want to see if i can match it just for fun. Other than that i have no complanits with this set!
  12. I bought the new roaring roadster on S&H last week, and at the same time went to TUR and found the new bridge transport/heavy loader. And to top it off, i purchased the new city crane on bricklink. should be here by next week.
  13. I don't think that lego's batcave even comes close to this one. Though i have to agree that the turntable would be a great addtion, but even without it, I don't think that lego's batcave is worthy of this one. Exellent moc! Don't listen to him vader. You captured the intereior of a cave absolutley perfect!
  14. TRU also had the new roaring roadsters (and the rest of the new creator sets), Avatar, sponge bob, and all the new starwars.
  15. Ah, thanks for pointing that out. I checked the City line today but didn't look into Construction ;-) EUR 67.99 for the crane is not that cheap, though... Could you please post the US price in case they have it? Thanks :-) PS: Both sets are already available at ebay.de, and for quite a bit less, too... LOL.... Ok so get this... So i called Shop At Home to see if there avaible to ship in the U.S. According to lego niether is. The first lady i talked to didn't even have a listing for either set number. Then she transfered me over to customer service. I get the same answer that neither set is avaible yet. So i ask when there slated for U.S release. The bridge transport is due mid to late june, and the crane is due late summer. Bummer. :-/ So on my way home from work i decide to stop by TRU to see if they got any new DUB CITY cars in (one of my other hobbies). Of course i always check the lego section to see if they have anything on sale or what not. What do i see??? The Bridge transport truck. Set 7900. I was amazed!! I snatched it up with hesatation. Saddly, they didin't have the crane, but seeing 7900 there leads me to believe that the crane is more than likely out as well. So come monday (my next day off), i'll be calling around all my local TRU's Or at leaast the ones within a 50 mile raduis. So fear not everyone. It seems these sets are avaible in the U.S. (or at least the transport truck is) Oh, the transport truck was $26.99 U.S. Hobbes!!
  16. Was hoping to make it down there today, but got caught up at work. Dosen't look like i'm going to be able to before sunday either. :-( Oh well. I called down there, and like somone said all they have left are bionicle and exoforce. Since i'm not inot either, its no big lose to me. I sure will miss that store though.
  17. Hmm.. Says there not avaible in the U.S yet. (at least thats what its telling me). I'm sure they are though. I'm going to give S&H a call to confirm. If there avaible, i'll probbly be gotting the crane first.
  18. I called my local lego store to see if they had the new roaring roadsters set in stock yet. To my dismay they told me they didn't have any and won't be getting any more shipments cause the lego store in the pleasant Valley mall in Pleasantan California will be closing its doors for good no later than the end of the month. Not sure if there are any memebers here from northeren Califorina, but i just thought i'd let everyone know there having a huge sale. Right now everythings 20 to 30% off, and stuff in there center displays will be 50% off and the last few days everything will be as much as 75% off. I asked if anything good was still there. he said othere than the starwars shelfs were preety much complety cleaned out, they had a little bit of everything else. They might ship stuff out. I don't know. Here's the number if anyone is enterested (925) 251-0434 Happy hunting!
  19. I just bought the roaring roadsters about 5 minutes ago on S&H. I was going to wait till next week, but i just got my tax refund a couple days ago!
  20. Land busters is a great set. Absolutly one of my favorites. All this kit really needed was steering, and its good to go (although i've added way more than that to mine) enjoy! I'm going to call my local lego store and see if they have the new roaring roadster in yet. If so i'll be leaving here within the hour to pick it up. If not, i might just wait till next week to order it of S&H. (i hate paying shipping charges)
  21. great review as always yoda. I'm not a starwars fan myself, but i will defently be picking this one up once i get my selfing done. (i litterly have sets spread out between 2 rooms!)
  22. Looks good. Hopfully they will Play "The air tonight" by Phil collins, or a good remake while thier driving in the ferrari on there way out to kick but. Just like the original series did!
  23. Umm.... Ya. I don't really see the point of this. Just so you know this is the stuff that gets people banned.
  24. Isn't this the set that everone said was only going to be avalible though TRU? Or was it Arkam Usylam? (sorry if i spenlt that wrong) either way, i'm sure that will be avaible through S@H, and Lego stores.
  25. In all the years i've been building/buying lego's, i've never had a missing part, but i have had a wrong part. In my techinc mobile crane one of the pulley wires was too long. Luckly all i had to do was wrap it around a couple times to get the lenth i needed.
