French Toy Fair 2007 : the pictures !
5150 Lego replied to brickerik's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow. lego's looking good for 07. I knew when i saw the new tracks in the techinc snowmobile that a bulldoser was in the works. I'm really cuious to see those new motors working. I saw in the files that there was a video associated with the new dozer, but i can't get it to play for me. Does it show the dozer in action? if the dozer is motorized, then i'd buy it just clean up the loose lego's on my floor after a day of mocing! I'm liking the new ferrari as well. but by the looks of it, there no suspention. I was really hoping for a suspention this time around since the enzo didn't have it. -
I'd have to disagree. If you look on brickshelf i'd say about 40, to 50% of what you see is automobile related. I tyhink that if lego did release a lisened/ford/chevy/austin martin/Volkswagen, or whatever, i think there are plenty that would jump on it. My dad bought the 1:8th scale F1 car when it came out and had me build it for him. One of his friends has bought nearly every Ferrari lego set just because he's a huge ferrari fan. Please don't take this the wrong way gylman, but you seem to have listed the things you enjoy building. Your right, people do enjoy those things to, but i think that cars are just as high(if not higher) on the list of mocs people like to build. I for one welcome these sets. Being a huge car fan, i think these sets (or one of them) would be a great addtion to my and many otheres collections. As far as price goes, i would be willing to spend $150 or so a nice mustang rendering. They may not be everyones cup of tea, but neither are the starwars USB sets. I hope to see these sets in the near future.

Technic - Summer sets
5150 Lego replied to DoubleT's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Finnally, a reason for me to start posting again! Love both sets! I knoew after seeing the treads in the snow mobile, that the bulldozer was in the works. And like gylman said, the combine will look great next to the tractor we got in 06! now i need to start building some trailers for all these new rigs! -
But it looks like the F1 cars for 07 are a bit differnt than 05/06.

Yep. threads are new and as far as we know only avaible on the new snowmobile.

What do your friends/family think of your hobby?
5150 Lego replied to Brainbox's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm 25, not my family dosen't have a problem with it at all. My girlfrined loves to by me sets too. She just bought me the new techinc tow truck for xmas. For my B-day last year she bought me a 8884(i think thats the number) The red techinc truck with the crane on the back. -
I live in Northern Califorina. East bay. I went to the target and TRU in Pistgurg. Both had them in stock.
-
I'd like to see more car theme's like the Ferrari licences. Jeep, Ford, cand chevey would be good ones i think.

So my frined and i were just finishing up some lunch when we decided we wanted to go to Best Buy to get some CD's. As were browsing through the CD section, a n employee asks if she can help us find anything. My friend says "Ya. You have any PS3's in stock?" He said this to her laughing and a bit sarcasic because we both figuredshe'd just laugh at us for even asking. "As a matter of fact, we do." she replied "Your serious?" my friend asked. "Yup. You want one?" My buddy looked at me in amazment. "Sure" he replied back. She gave a ticket to take to the front counter.were we were handed a PS3. we paid the cashier(by we, i mean him) and left. Unfortuntly for my buddy, he didn't have enough money to by a game, so it will be sitting for a bit till he gets paid. Pretty funny to see people stare at us as we left!

Iv'e walked into number's stores in the past few days and they all had them in stock. Now PS3.... Ya right. For me its the 360. Iv'e played all 3, (and own a 360), and the 360 has the best range of games. Though i guess that it also depends on the type of games your into. Myself, i like racing sims, so anything nintendeo is out. I liked Forza better than Gran Turismo, so XBOX was the choice for me. But when it comes to role playing games, then i guess the Wii, or the other nintendoe consoles would be the best choice. As far as grafics goes, if you have the right TV, then i still thinkn the 360 is better than the Wii and PS3. And thats another thing. People can go on and on about who's grafics are better, to to take full advantage, you need a high def TV. other wise there all going to be pretty much the same. Xbox 360 gets my vote.

This doesn't really make any sence. I company shouldn't drop there prices just because somone atempted to steal some of there products. Espeacially since we have no evidence that high price was a factor in this. Anyways, i don't think that lego's are so high price that it would be a factor. But again, no evidence. I'd have to agree. My first thought is the parents too. People are so quick to blame the media when a kid does somthing, that they fail to look at the people responsible for raising them.

Lego City 7942 Off-Road Fire Resque
5150 Lego replied to jayb_fpmg's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
very nice set. I agree, looks like you get alot of bang for your buck with this one. -
This is one of my favorite sets. Though not my #1, this still has to be one of the most detailed sets lego has ever came out with. The detail is just incredible. Looks just like the real thing. I do agree though about the stickers. I plan on getting a couple more trucks and making a trailer to haul 2 F1 cars, and more equipment. This is probbly my favorite set right now..... This set has alot of detail as well. Opening doors, hood, and tail gate and full suspention to boot. This set also has so much potential. Its funny to see this set in stock form since mine is so healily modified. (i added steering, an extended cab with suicide doors, bumper and 5th wheel hitches..ETC...) Defentaly a great set! This is the only set from my original lego building days thats still put toeghter... I remember seeing this shortly after my 13th or 14th birthday, and begging my parents for it. Since i had already gotten my birthday present, they said i had to wait till Xmas. I was bummed for sure, but i was determind to hand in every homework assignment in on time to asure that they would get it for me. Well Xmas rolls around 6 months later only to find out that its backordered intill febeuary of next year!! I finnaly got it around mid feb. Wow, the hours i spent in the back yard with that crane building all sorts of things. Laying pipes for drains, buildings, lifting stuff off my other lego trucks. Sure does bring back aot of memories. :-) i think i'm going to go play with it right now!

I know what the search button is for. Don't generally use it when trying to share new pics with fellow EB memebers. I found on these on the first page when entering brickshelf. So i figured they were brand new. Sorry.

Found this while searching through brickshelf. I like the fact that the house has a garage with a drive way. May have to get a couple of those. And i'm really liking that F-14 fighter jet!!!!!! Thats a must have!!

Pictorial review: old style Lego boxes (Airtech 8868)
5150 Lego replied to gylman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Older boxes get my vote as well. I remeber being a kid and first seeing the bigger sets in the small little catalog that came in my medium sized sets. i would remeber day dreaming about one day getting these sets (being techinc/town/space). While taking a trip to K-mart, or target, i would see these sets in person, and open the large flap that would show the set in all differnt angles, and show the details. Ussually in some sort of scene too. this would just make me want the set even more as i would day dream about my own set up/ lay out. Yup. those were the good old days. *y* -
Just suirt in a dab of WD-40. works great, and no more noise! Just don't use to much, other wise it will get all over the place, and come out on the floor while your rolling it around.
-
I have two of these myself.i combined both sets to make a larger cab to fit both fire fighters, and a larger trailer to fit the raft and more equipment. Defently the best fire truck lego ever made.
-
Thats funny. My 9yr old nephew segested the same thing when he saw my crane. May have to use some differnt peices for the missle tubes, but defenatly do-able.
-
I thought the ferrari car were preety cool. My favorite though (and one of my all time favorites) is the Ferrari Sceudara transport truck. (sorry, i know i spelt that wrong) One of the best look sets lego ever made.
-
Hope this isn't a repost. Just checked, and it looks like the new techinc towtruck is now avaible to ship from lego S@H. I think i'm going to wait till it comes out at my local lego store, so i can get my loyalty card stamped. http://shop.lego.com/product.asp?p=8285

Arkham is Available in North America!
5150 Lego replied to Echo's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Looks like this is out already. I saw some at TRU yesterday while looking for some DUB cars. -
LOL! Thats ok. I'm happy to exlpian any of the mmods i have listed if you have any questions about them. ;-) Thank you for the coments. Most people don't know what it is at first either. Espeacialy when they see the euro plate up front. Most think i imported the car from germany. Those are not my style, but are preety popular to start modding. Not uncomon to see 20" rims on these cars. Again thank you for the nice coments!
