Whether or not you believe in global warming is irrelevant in this case. While you may be thinking of "momentary" cost, these bills are are designed with long term goals. No ones forcing you to do anything. Just like this voucher bill. All they are doing is encouraging you and others to purchase more efficient vehicles from a companies that are in the middle of destructing. (nicewas of saying there broke). I'll admit that many of these bills are a bit far fetched, and the new 30mpg standard is going to make it hard for many manufacturers, (especially American companies that half over there line dedicated to large trucks and SUV"S) to meet said requirements. My favorite of mine is my current vehicle. My 07 FJ Cruiser. I love being able to just get up and go anywhere. To the snow, on the trails, to the mall! Before that i had a VW Passat similar to Polishguy's, only mine was a 5 speed manual. Had close to $10,000 in upgrades. I do miss the handling. Wish i could have kept it. But the FJ is still a better vehicle for me.

Thanks guys! I have to say that it was a very pleasant surprise to find this thread. Let Me tell you... Today has not been good. Had a deadline to meet for work,and because of faulty parts, it won't be meet. And whats worse is that this is a new customer that we were trying to win over. So as of now, this had been the worse B-day i can remember for a long while. But seeing this thread did bring up my spirit a bit! Thank you all!

Funny no doubt... But i imagine if the wrong person saw that it could really cause alot more problems than just a few laughs. Many airport personal don't take things like that lightly. Be careful

There more to efficiency than just fuel mileage. Its also about Emissions. A newer car that might not get as good of mileage as your 16 yr old Tercel, will have half of the Emissions out put that your car has. I'm willing to bet that the 4.0 V-6 in my FJ Cruiser, that gets 19mpg, has fewer emissions than your Tercel. That's what the purpose of the bill is. To get older, more pollutant vehicles off the road. You said yourself that the Muffler and cat just rusted off. Not very environmentally friendly. No Matter how good gas mileage you get.

Agreed. I never quite understood the "Anti Government" attitude. I Was going to say the exact same thing, but you beat me too it. On a stock car, doing such modifications and hurt performance and mileage. Especially when done to a vehicle that wasn't designed with performance in mind. Now vehicles that are designed with performance in mind, and are properly tuned with said modifications in mind, extra power can be had, as well as possibly getting an increase in mileage. Though that usually isn't going to be the case. It might just be a bonus in addition to the added power.

My local Lego store says there expecting all the new techinc sets mid July. There supposedto give me a call when they come in. Specificly the Crane truck. We'll see. I'll keep you guys posted.

I think we've both voiced our opinion for now of the matter at hand. So I'll leave well enough alone. But i felt it very necessary to address this comment of yours Hinckley... There was no abrasive tone, nor did i disrespect anyone. Those comments were completely uncalled for. I was spoken to by one of your staff members in a very rude and disrespectful tone and defended myself. I don't appreciate you singling me out when i have done nothing wrong, and not acknowledging his behaviour. Just cause a member holds the level of moderator does not mean they have the right to talk to other members in the this manner. Yes i understand that mods do, but that is not a free pass to be a jerk and dismiss others. Not cool.

See, this is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Someone tries to voice a concern, and you automatically dismiss it as them not knowing what there talking about, and that they don't appreciate the efforts of the staff. This clearly isn't the case. Instead of jumping to conclusions, how about you actually read a post or two? I HAVE moderated sites BIGGER than this one in the past. I know what it takes to be a moderator, and I'll tell you... If you think moderating EB is bad then you would get trampled on on any other large scale forum. And who's being non-constructive? As CP5670 stated, there was nothing wrong with the topic. People were giving there opinions on the matter in a civilized and constructive manner, right up until you decided to close it without warrant in a rude and disrespectful manner, and gave a similar type response. Seriously. I challenge you CGH to go back and find one, just one post that was whining, rude, disrespectful other than your own. I did not start this thread. Someone else did. I merely added to it because i felt its something that i felt (and it seems others as well) strongly about. Flaming? Who's flaming? Just cause someone disagrees with someone on a subject (whether it be a regular member or mod alike), it does not mean they've engaged in an all out flame war. Also, proper grammar and spelling does not automatically mean a more "mature environment" It never has. Does it help? This to me, comes down to maturity of the member to begin with. One should be able to engage in a debate without them being labeled as deliberately trying to start an argument or "flame war". There absolutely nothing that was in this thread that would suggest this, nor start one. There alsoseems to be quite a few that can't differituate an argument from a debate. Even with the posts that got this topic closed, there was no arguing going on. Voicing a concern that is not of the majority is not an argument. As someone already stated, being such a large community that this is, opinions are bound to differ from person to person and just cause opinions differ from one another, does not automatically mean they are being attacked or flamed. See, this is another problem that i wish people would understand... Just cause someone disagrees with a mod on a certain subject or brings something to their attention does not mean they are not thankful for the job their doing. No ones Morales should be down because of this thread. Com'on now. For gods sake people there human! Just like you and me! There not perfect, there going to make mistakes, and yes, yes, you might not agree with everything they have done. This does not mean in any way shape or form that you do not aprecaite them!! As I've said before to the mods many, many times in the past. I know what they have to go through to moderate a site. I do thank them for their volunteer efforts. Cause someone disagrees on a matter or is trying to address something that you don't agree with they don't know what their talking about??? Right. Great attitude to have.

See exactly the point the OP is getting at. I really do. Though i don't believe asking for proper spelling and grammar is going to cause this site to go in a downward spiral, its not the end of the world if someone misspells a word or two. Also considering the vast number of member under the age of 18 on this site, i doubt your going to see anything but.. "I completely disagree with you! This site is the best ever, and the mods are doing a perfect job!" ..For fear of being banned or put in the corner with a dunce capon there sig fig. And there in lies a problem in itself. If a problem or "concern" as it may be is brought to the admin. attention, if the majority don't agree, its dismissed. I strongly feel that many will never truly voice there thoughts on certain matters because they know there here under the age requirement and are only allowed to stay based on "good behaviour". If they start to cause problems or question an action of someone there booted no questions asked cause technically their already in violation of the rules. But EB whole age requirement is kind of their own doing anyways. (which was instated more due to adult level conversations than to prevent one line slammers and proper spelling anyways ) I'm not saying a speak for anyone, nor am i speaking of any one time in paticular. Just my observations in the past 4 yrs of being on this forum. There in lies another problem. While many are trying to "act" mature, many over do it, and it really shows their true age. There not able to be themselves. There trying to be someone completely different just to be accepted. And to the mods... Like i've said in the past, i have alot of respect for what you guys do. The purpose of this post wasn't to take a swing at any of you. Just that maybe you can take posts/threads and see both sides of the specturm and try and see were the oposing side is coming from. I understand that some may not agree with what i, or the OP has said (i don't agree with everything that he said myself), but alot of good points were brought up. If it is true that he was given a warning for saying "Thank you" in a thread, thats a little much. But again thats just me.

You know, the more i think about the whole "lack of plot and story" that so many claim this movie lacks, the more and more i find how much, and rich the plot/story really has. If you pay attention, and put two and two together, the more it makes sence. For example... Many complain... Well, if you think about it.. This of course is just an example, but if you think about it, this movie seems to be made more for "the fans" than many originally thought.

The U.S. Lego site says that the Crane truck and Loader are still back ordered. Must be in stock in Europe. Please post pics once you get it!

This is one thing I've never understood among the TF fan base. It seems after seeing the DK, many TF Fans (especially G1 fan boys) want,or feel the movie should have had this deep, meaningful plot and storyline, when the subject material has lacked any of this. I'm sorry, but i have never seen a good, non- cheesy plot/storyline in any of the TF series. Not from G1, Armada, beastwars, and especially not Energon. So i don't know why many felt this should have broken the mold so to speak. Personally,i liked all the humor and was fine with all the sexual references, (although i still think they did help play key roles in the plot and story) but i can see where some might have found it a bit over the top. TF should always be about megablocks kicking robots and action. They are in a war after all.

Top Gear did a film on one. It had some sort of a sport package i believe. It will be interesting to see it in person.

But i have to say the alternate for 8263 is really intriguing! I Think the Alternate is better than the main model! Even the log loader alternative of the front end loader is decent. Getting more and more excited for these 09' techinc sets! Stupid Medical bills!

Very cool. Ya,i got ride ofmine right before all the major mantaince was needed. (That timing belt is expensive to replace if memory serves correct) Thats right. Clubb5 turned into Passatworld. Forgot about that. The vortex is ok, but i find its filled with alot of drama. Oh well. I mainly involved with local VWclubs at the time. My ride even won a few throphies. Is Fiat coming to the states? This is the first i've heard of this.

Just got off the phone with my local Lego Store. They have an arrival date of mid July for all 3 sets. I have alot of Lego gift certificates i received at Christmas,as well as some discounts i received for helping out during some Lego events that I've been saving for these three sets.They should be calling me the second they touch down. Though my main concern is 8258. I can wait on the others. But i have to admit, i didn't care for 8263 since its basically a bigger version of 8459 with LA's. But i have to admit, the more i see it,the more i like it. Might have to pick it up at some point if funds allow.
