Wow, very very nice. Can't wait to see the full build but it is great as it is.

Very nice. I like the way you do the blood splatter on that Zombie. Just had a look at Part I and that's really nice too. Can't wait for Part III.
-
Very nice train. I'm not really up to speed with Lego Trains but it looks really nice. Reminds me of the trains in a computer game I used to play far too much of ... Railroad Tycoon.

Maybe that "vehicle" next to the "Rebel Pilot" is Luke's crashed snowspeeder? Not that I'm saying a BP will come with a snowspeeder but maybe the snowspeeder is there as box art only?

Your ideas are all great but sadly I just can't see a LoTR license for Lego in the foreseeable. Especially without a current movie or animated series to support it. Maybe when the Hobbit movies are released? If it does come to pass then I suspect the set prices and brick counts will be more like what you get with Lego Star Wars.
-
Yeah ... might be best not to pry too much because there probably is a perfectly valid reason for the low prices and we don't want to make it worse by asking too many questions. Just be tactful. Do let us know if it all turns out fine tho. Will give me some confidence to buy off them if they list anything else I'm interested in.

I remember reading on some other thread that its the anniversary of Empire Strikes Back next year so that will support these being Hoth sets. It will be a pretty sad anniversary without at least a couple of sets to commemorate.

Thanks for the excellent review. Sounds like this will be a big big build. Sounds like Lego went off the boil when it came to designing minfigures for this set. Will it be too hard/expensive to put stickers sheet into plastic bags to protect them? It reminds me of the Carousel I saw at Darling Harbour in Sydney (not that I seen that many of these things). Bit pricey for me at the moment but maybe one day I'll be able to afford it.

I hope you're right Legoman. Maybe its time to be "jedi" about it huck to flat ... as Master Kenobi will probably say "Maybe you are not meant to have it". Anyway I find that fighting with parent about toys is a long term loosing game. For those who are interested I got back from my local Farmers and saw the new castle sets out there. Last day of 20% off today so if anyone is into Castles then you better get down there and have a look ... or maybe call first just in case your local Farmers don't have them.

I haven't seen the video so this thread definitely adds to my Lego experience. Thanks for sharing and I agree that if those are 2010 sets then its likely to be CW sets because of the packaging. There were a couple of episodes on a snow planet so many its Snow Clone Troopers and their speeders? That's assuming its even a snow setting.

I think there's a lesson in here for us ... not sure who said it but if you find a bargain and you can afford it then you should go for it straightaway. All this wait for tomorrow and think about it stuff seem to have just one end result ... you miss out!! Anyway ... good on you guys who managed to pick up the bargains. I really envy the guy who picked up Endor for $160. That's probably the one set I would have gone for without hesitation at $160.
-
Wow! Sounds like I should have stayed up last night to check out this guy's listing. Looks like all the sets I'm looking for were taken while I was asleep ... AT-OT (not that I was going to fight CF for it), AAT and Endor. Wonder when he will list the next lot of stuff. Do you know CF? You seem to be in the know the most around here.

Yes. Those are pre-discount prices so you can take another 15% off. I'm really tempted to get a couple of items. Probably will pick up at least the Cairo and Chauchilla Cemetery set. I don't have a crystal skull and I think the Chauchilla Cemetery set may be the cheapest set with it. I might be wrong there. I'm not that into IJ so I don't keep up with it as much.
-
Its very nice. Well done. I love the way the minifigures are in motion. You definitely paid attention to details with the legs movement, head turning etc. Love to see the rest of it.
-
Just got back from my local Kmart with these to report: AT-OT is now $329 Midi Scale Falcon is $60 Temple of Doom is $130 Cairo is $20 Venice Chase is $60 Fighter Plane Attack is $90 Chauchilla Cemetery is $40 Those IJ prices are really sharp ... and its 15% off on top of it.

Very nicely done. I think TLG should do a midi-scale LAATi and yours will be a very nice template for them. Maybe they should jusy buy the design off you.

Here I am checking the good old Eurobricks Kiwi thread and saw that I missed out on some huge excitment caused by trademe. Do you guys check trademe on a daily basis for Lego Star Wars deal? Looks like I need to get in on the act because it sounds like some good deals on trademe. Anyway too late for me now but I think I should start keeping an eye on it. When I see deals like that ... the question that pops into my head is why are they selling it so cheap? What's wrong with it? Or do you think its a Kmart staff getting it at some special staff rate? If it is too good to be true then maybe it is too good to be true. Anyway maybe I'm just paranoia which explains even if I had seen that $250 ATOT deal ... I still won't be the one who gets it because I'll be wondering what's wrong while someone else picks it up.

This is an amazing MOC. The Venator is my favourite capital ship in Star Wars and you done it justice in Lego form. Thanks for it with us and it must be said ... WOW!!!
-
Very very nice. I like it. Post Apoc is one my favourite theme. These vehicles won't look at all out of place in a Mad Max setting. Thanks for sharing. Sure brings back memories from my university role playing games days.

Wow! Very very nice. The only improvements I'll suggest will be to try to use less bright colours (bright red and blue). Its just that my image of the medieval city is a place that has duller colours. Flags and clothes may be bright colours but roofs and walls probably will be duller colours. Hey its still great as it is and everyone has their own vision, right?

Thanks for the review. I found it very informative. Its always good to ready reviews of sets that came out before I started looking at Lego Star Wars ... and moaned about why I didn't start earlier.

Nice mod of one of my favourite novel series. I'm not sure that other than the rat onna sticks and the seamtress that there's that much in the mod that makes it Discworld but its a good start. Will be good to see someone try something like Pseudopolis Yard or parts of Unseen University or even a vig of good old Cut Me Own Throat Dibbler peddling his goodies on the street.

In the paper this morning there's a Warehouse ad for 20% off Lego till Monday. Wouldn't it be great if Home One will come out while this sale is on.
-
This book looks really good. I liked the other visual dictionary that DK puts out and this looks like another good one. I'm going to look out for it. Thanks for sharing the link. I probably wouldn't know about the book otherwise.

Just got back from Warehouse Sylvia Park and used CommanderFox's voucher and bought myself Endor and the midi-scale Falcon. The Sep Shuttle been reduced to $59 which wasn't advertised in the Toy Sale brochure. With the 20% off that made it $48 so I picked up one of those too to keep MISB. Hopefully I can sell it on trademe in the future to fund a future Lego purchase. Roncanator I think the voucher is only for yesterday and today. They were giving away the voucher at Warehouse Sylvia Park as people walked in.
