  1. That doesn't surprise me at all and its not limited to Toyworld Tower Junction. A number of Toyworlds in Auckland sell above RRP. To be fair tho I know of 1 Toyworld that consistently sticks to RRP in Auckland so I think it is up to each store owner. Suffice to say that I don't buy much at most of the other Toyworld. I am happy to travel a little further to get to that one and I find that I have to do that a bit because there's more and more stuff that's exclusive to Toyworld.
  2. That's a great build. I like the way you used the white semi-circle. I understand the desire to build with all pieces but now that you done maybe the next thing to try will be to make it sleeker as you said. Those are definitely clones. Its the Phase II clone armour from Episode Three.
  3. I think the voucher entitles members to the 20% to 50% starting this weekend. The sale will be opened to the general public from Tuesday. No big deal if you don't have the voucher this weekend unless there's limited units of what you want to buy and you want it get in quick. I think there's a 20% off all toys at Farmers so you can always get Endor from Farmers. I'm not sure that Toyworld will have it cheaper than Farmers. My experience tells me that Toyworld tends to mark their prices up above RRP.
  4. I just got my vouchers too. Looks like a good opportunity to get Toyworld exclusive sets .. not sure whether there's any that I don't have but might go check it out in the weekend. I'll report on what I find.
  5. Just to stay on target ... I was at Warehouse Sylvia Park yesterday and saw the following new sets there: Endor Venator Echo Base Sep Shuttle No net IJ sets. Interesting thing about Warehouse's pricing is that its all a little big lower than Lego's RRP. Didn't see the Falcon tho which was a bit disappointing. Not sure whether I want to get it but I wanted to have a look see.
  6. I like the new CW clones. Its different and I'm not sure you can say one is better than the other. BTW anyone going to take part in the CW marathon on Cartoon Network this Sat?
  7. I agree with the others, you bought out one of the better episodes in Lego form very nicely. Well done. This is what Lego is all about to me.
  8. I don't suppose we're lucky enough that the 30% is on Lego?? Not that 20% is bad but I think we got spoilt by the 30% last time.
  9. You can download the Warehouse sale catalogue here: http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/is-bin/inter...12/download.pdf Slim pickings in terms of Lego. The Clone Walker and Assassin Droids Battle Packs are $19.99 each.
  10. Thanks for the good review. I like the silver colour pieces but find the proportion for the assassin droids to be the shortcoming (body and head too long). This set isn't very popular if my local toy stores are anything to go by. The Clone Walker pack tends to sell out very very quickly but you can always find plenty of this set on the shelves.
  11. I think Elves will be great. It will give us more variation with which to play with according to our imagination. If you want to use the existing dwarves and create a battle/story against elves then that's up to your imagination. You can even use the elves to fight against elves. Its up to your imagination. The Lego pieces are just the tools to allow you to play/create what you want.
  12. I like it. Well done. I'm going to go build myself one.
  13. Thanks for the review. Well done! I like the detachable engine block and the crane in the hangar. Let's hope we see it more in the future. The minfigs are great & add real value to this set. Now I just have to see what New Zealand price will be.
  14. CommanderFox Pirate Tank and Home One are in the catalogue and listed as exclusive to a retailer and coming out in August. Not sure which retailer will be picking them up as exclusive. BTW, you're for sale on trademe for $35 ==> http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=225562836 huck to flat where did you get your information about the Spider Droid coming out in August? Last time it was exclusive to Toyworld. Do you know whether it will be exclusive to them again or available to all retailers? I can see it listed in the catalogue but there's nothing in there to say when it will be coming out and definitely nothing to say its exclusive to anyone. I wonder how reliable those catalogue dates are because we got our second wave of Star Wars and Indy much earlier than the catalogue dates so maybe we will get the Pirate Tank and Home One earlier too. You can only hope. Anyway I can't wait for the Kmart toysale. I hope Kmart will will do a good discount on Endor.
  15. Spotted the Endor set at Farmers Botany Town this morning. $249. Its finally hitting the stores ... too bad I don't have the money for it. Looks really good.
  16. Its some other poster. There's just a selection of minifigure (Vader, Dooku, Clones, Mace Windu, Yoda, Assassin Droids ... 2009 minifigures basically). The minifigures are also computer rendered ones rather than photos of actual minifigures. Will be interesting to see if everyone gets the same poster or there's variants out there.
  17. Its cool and well done. Very good idea. Not beyond the realm of possibility for a squad of female stormtroopers. I can imagine a good storyline based on a "Mulan" stormtrooper. Maybe someone can suggest it to Timothy Zahn??? I bet if Luke ran into one of them at Mos Eisley things could have turned out very very different.
  18. My Lego magazine arrived in the post today. There's a cool Star Wars minifigure poster in there and the new 2009 catalogue. No freebie keyring this time but I'm happy with the poster. Anyone got something different?
  19. That's a great Mech. Well done. I hope you had plenty of fun building it. Its nice to look at.
  20. Thanks for the informative review. I especially appreciates the photos of the gunship. I got a much better sense of what it looks like than the limited photos on the box. Cheers.
  21. Looks like Battle of Endor is first available in NZ on Trademe: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Toys-models/Lego-...n-224792088.htm
  22. I think some of the Space Police minifigures will be pretty good to add to my Star Wars collection. I can use them as alien races to spice up some of the plays. I see S@H now has all the second wave sets up.
  23. Those Space Police sets are interesting. Lots of unique or rare pieces too. Wonder when we'll see them in the shops. We been lucky with the second wave of Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Wonder if we will get the Space Police sets early too. CommanderFox, are you going to update your avatar photo with the actual Cmdr Fox?
  24. Just got back from the local Kmart. Some of the second wave of Lego Star Wars finally arrived at Kmart. Unfortunately Kmart is not apply their usual discount to these sets. These are selling at their RRP: Echo Base ($49.99) Tank Droid ($49.99) Sep Shuttle ($69.99) Didn't seen any other new sets (Star Wars or otherwise). Did see a label for the Telescopic Handler at $30 but can't find any actual sets.
  25. Thanks for the nice informative review. I like your sense of humour. I agree with some of the others that the minfigures could have been better thought out. From the episode where the tank first appeared, I think Jar Jar plus a clone (maybe even Cmdr Fox?) would have been better than Obi Wan. Obi Wan wasn't even anywhere near a pirate tank until the end.
