Thanks. Adding a keep to the actual set was my first intention when i started. Then i got more bricks and the rocks were born. But i tried to continue the original design, like the corners of the keep or the top of the walls. I liked how they looked. Except for the catapults. ;-)

Thanks for the suggestions! I need to pic up new bricks first. Then i'll give it a try. The hairpice for Theoden is from 7189 ("Kingdoms Windmill"). But I also got it from build-a-figure in a Lego store. Fits perfect. ;-)

Hey everybody. This is my first moc since i was a little kid. Now, 15 years later, lotr brought me back to collecting lego. The Helms Deep set always felt incomplete to me. So when i first saw eurolocks huge moc i was amazed and wanted to do something on my own. So here is my version. I know it's not accurate like in the movies, but i ran out of bricks... Sorry for my english and sorry for the crappy pictures ( my camera broke down and i had to use my smartphone.) Critics and comments are welcome. How Many Mirkwood Elf Army Sets Do You Plan on Buying?
LegoThomas replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I will buy one propably two MEA. Would be nice if the hooded elves came with a cape or armor. I bought 6 UHA and will get at least 4 more. Very nice army builder set. And thats where i get the cape for my mirkwood archers. I'm also building a helms deep moc. Inspired by the one by eurolock. Maybe one more week and i'll share the completed moc.- 102 replies

That would cover nearly all i hope for. But i think i prefer a brick build fellbeast/mumakil. Can't wait to see the next wave.

100 €? Where did you get it?

What happened to him? And why?

Now that's what i'm talking about. That would just be awesome. Although it seems like a dream. I like the idea of a minas tirith the size of death star or even ewok village. Hope TLG reads your post. Nicely worked out set description. Lego-guys, just do it! Let's keep on dreaming.

Lucky you. In Germany there weren't any available. So... finally 15 € on ebay. *sad*

I just got my first mirkwood elf guard an was a little disappointed. With just the hood on, it felt incomplete. So i added one of Eomers capes. Looks much better now. Sorry for the twist.

I totally agree. Plus the prancing pony and the green dragon. ;-)

Nice work. I love the interior! Like the Nudelholz. ;-)

The set list might be pure speculation. Remember the first rumoured set list for the last Lotr wave? I can recall reading something like "eagles nest" and stuff. But if only 4 sets and no smaug... maybe we get an ucs smaug like the tower of orthanc.

The ghost that fought Radagast turns out to be Sauron. Not the witch-king. I just re-read the silmarillon. I think that we will see the witch-king in an long awaited Nazgul/Fellbeast/Ringwraith/Eowyn set.

As far as I remember, the necromancer at Dol Guldur is Sauron and not the Witch King.

Unusual places to display your Tower of Orthanc
LegoThomas replied to Nobrux's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
My Orthanc i displayed on the top level of the lego LOTR-shelf. Enough room for it. When i stand next to it, i got this nice view... Feelin like an Uruk ;-) Ps i like the idea of the plant next to it! -
I still hope for a brick build Smaug, like the creator dragon. But bigger and better designed. Just imagine they do an ucs Smaug. Just Smaug and perhaps a little treasure-hill to keep an eye on.

Too bad. The "prequel" to lord of the rings an how sauron came up and the story of the rings would make. a nice trilogy. ;-)

I hope there will be 2 more lotr waves. It's my favorite lego theme ever. Sure we need the balrog of moria. I think TLG will definetly make this one. Maybe in the next wave. The rest of the waves sets should be all about minas tirith and the battle at the pellenor. Like grond, witchking on fellbeast and a *brickbuild mumakil* with some nice haradrim and faramir. Really. hope they don't do a scaled down minas tirith. Maybe PJ makes some movies about other middleearth tales like in the silmarillon...
