I would! -
Yeah, I could see the anniversaries of the films being celebrated - like maybe a truck chase diorama for the 50th anniversary of Raiders or a grail temple diorama for the 40th anniversary of Crusade. But beyond that I don’t see Indy coming back with a full wave of sets.

Anakin and Obi Wan would have been good choices. Come to think of it I wouldn’t have minded some generic Jedi (like Jedi Bob). Similar to how the HP line often does generic students. -

Yeah that’s a good idea. Would be nice to get a hairpiece for Jango as well. I can’t remember how old Boba was meant to be but I wonder if they might even give him the teenager legs from the Harry Potter line. -

I can’t say I’m a huge fan really. Though as Kit Figsto said above - they’re clearly selling well otherwise they wouldn’t continue doing them. I’m I’m being honest I do sort of feel the same way about the buildable logo as well - I’m sure it’ll be good it I prefer the play sets. -

I really hope so. It’s insane we still haven’t seen an updated Mon Mothma yet given all the recent projects she’s been in. -
It does feel as though in the last few years there has been a big push to appeal to the non AFOL market (those who are fans of Star Wars/Marvel/Harry Potter/Batman etc. but not fans of Lego). And it does feel as though it has come at the cost of changing the line quite significantly. I made a post on the main discussion thread about it but I do think we’re missing that range of good < $50 sets. Looking back (only 5-6 years ago) at some of the sets coming out, you had things like Duel on Naboo, Duel on Mustafar, Yoda’s hut, the Hoth Medical Bay, the Ach To set, the landspeeders from the Solo film, I think you even had a small Mos Eisley Cantina set. There was a healthy balance of expensive and affordable sets. Going back even further, you had the Jedi Interceptors, the droid escape pod, the carbonate freezing chamber, the Vader/Anakin transformation set, the hover tank, the homing spider droid. Where are those types of sets now?

Yeah, I feel that as well. It is a really, really good set but at the same time it’s not exceptional. Like others have said - it doesn’t feel like a $500 set in a way I quite can’t articulate. -

Yeah, I feel a lot of adults got into the hobby during the pandemic and LEGO have a made an effort to appeal to those people outside the usual AFOL fan base. Like you said people will get them as desk ornaments/housewarming gift etc. And there’s nothing wrong with that - I don’t mind them doing the odd helmet set or diorama. But it is disappointing they have taken up the whole line. The line has obviously changed a lot throughout the years - the style of the battlepacks has changed, we’ve seen themes like the planets line and the action figures come and go - but it does feel very jarring to see a shift like this. -

That's a nice surprise. Like others I'm not too fond of the Stormtrooper design but after 15+ years it's nice to finally get a proper army building set for Rebel Troopers. -

Yeah, as @Mandalorianknight said it looks as though they’re really trying to appeal to people outside the usual AFOL demographic and it’s disappointing it’s come at the cost of less playsets. -

Very happy to hear about the ARC-170 fighter. I would hope they include some Jedi that we haven’t seen for a while like Plo Koon and Fisto like the last one Yeah, it almost looks like a placeholder figure. -

Both sets look good. It’s a little disappointing Boba doesn’t have his cape. Especially in a set with such a high price point. -

It’s absolute bonkers and I love it. Like that they’ve turned the dish into a mini Death Star superlaser. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Tariq j replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Completely agree with this. I think the lack of connectivity between sets now has really gone down over the last decade. We had an X-Wing with no TIE fighter, Anakin’s Podracer a few years ago but no Sebulba’s podracer to go alongside it. We have an AT-TE but no Separatist ships to go along with it. I miss that connectivity we had in previous waves. I think there has been some effort to make sets more risky (The upcoming Dark Falcon and a Jedi Bob starfighter come to mind) and you have the diorama sets - but I get your point. I think the Star Wars line has become a bit stale over the last few years. Like I look back at stuff like the Freeco Speeder or Pirate ship or the Bounty Hunter Assault ship sets from the early Clone Wars line and wonder whether we would get stuff like that now. Just look at Bad Batch which hardly got any sets. Granted we do have a lot of content coming out but still. I also think there needs to be more innovation in sets. The 2006 Star Destroyer included an escape pod mechanism. The 2014 version included the bridge for the first time. The First Order Star Destroyer even included a mini turbo lift within the set! What does the upcoming version really bring to the table? It seems to be an almost carbon copy of the 2014 version. -

Thrawn and Ezra both look really good. I think Ezra’s eyes will take a bit of getting used to though. -

Which YouTuber are we talking about here? I think a lot of online communities live in bubbles. No one outside the AFOL community will really care or pay attention to this issue. -

Could the Naboo Starfighter rival it? I think there have been 5 so far with one being classed as a "special edition" version but I can't remember if it counted as a UCS set or not. -

The ISD looks good, my issue is that it doesn’t really feel like it’s bringing anything new to the table. The 2006 version had an escape pod with a built in feature to deploy it. The 2014 Star Destroyer was the first to incorporate the command bridge. The First Order Star Destroyer even managed to include a small turbolift. They could have included a mini Tanitive IV or Imperial Shuttle or just something - to make this version feel a bit more distinctive and stand out a bit more. -

Yeah, I feel with something like the Death Star you can either do singular rooms (the Throne Room diorama, the trash compactor diorama, the Final Duel etc) or you go full out and do an MBS set. -

I think you could do something like Betrayal at Cloud City where it’s just the top half. Similar to that old Kenner toy. -

I must admit I’m excited for the Star Destroyer. I think it’s been 10 years since we had the last one (excluding the UCS version). Yeah, if we were to see part of the Death Star, and MBS set would be the way to go. Those other 4 sets look good. I like that curved trans piece they’ve used to make the trooper fly. -
That exterior does look beautiful. I think if you combined the shell of this Great Hall with the interior of the 2018 version you’d probably have the best GH yet. I must admit, the Boat House and the Owlery didn’t really do anything for me that but the Hall has really filled me with confidence for this new Hogwarts system. Makes me excited to see what they’ll do with the Astronomy and the Clock Towers.
