Yes, Skull resulted in a big resurgence of Indy merchandise. I remember getting the films and the truck chase for my birthday. I hope Indy 5 will do the same thing and introduce the franchise to a whole new generation of kids. The other thing as well is that Indy is not Marvel or Star Wars. It doesn't get loads of action figures, books and sets every year. Whilst the franchise may continue in some form (TV series/spin offs), this might be all we get.

LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Mon Mothma is a good shout and (although not as recent as Andor) she also appeared in Rebels and Rogue One. Would also give us a Tarkin figure. -

The Lars Homestead is something that LEGO had never done before. So going by that logic I could see the promo being based off something like that or something that hasn't been done in a while. A section of Home One with Admiral Ackbar maybe? -

I agree. I think a Death Star could also include a removable outer shell (something the 2008 and 2016 versions didn't include). -
Yeah, for a second I thought it was a placeholder head. I think the webbing should have been thinner and continued onto his clothes.
-
I think they hold up really well. Come to think of it most of the sets hold up well too. I think a lot of them would benefit from dual moulding (like Spalko for example). Plus there are lots of characters in the original wave we never got.
-
That is very disappointing. Especially since there's now a Skull and Doom shaped hole in the new wave.

I wouldn't be against a melting Toht bust...

Really glad we're finally getting a Yavin Base. We still haven't got a Mon Mothma figure despite her appearing in quite a few projects recently. The $650 set sounds insane. I'm hoping it's a D2C playset. Yeah, the last one retired in 2020 didn't it? So I think another one could be likely. Especially given how well the previous model sold. -
The "what set did you just build" thread

Just built the Dark Trooper Attack set. It's really neat and you could probably buy a few if you wanted to create a larger scene. My only quibble is there are quite a few stickers. -

There's a slightly cleaned up image on reddit. You can definitly.make out some specific details there.

They look good. I can see what some are saying about the Tomb. It's does look a little sparse. The plane set looks good though. Love that we have Indy with his tie. I'm not sure about the Temple set. Unlike the original where the mineral chase was the focal point of the set they seem to have been tacked on a bit here almost like an afterthought. The tracks don't meet like they did in the film. I also agree with @Retro Brick Reviews that it should've been removed.

Oh nice. Didn't expect to get the Burrow. The 2020 version was fine but I suppose this one could include Charlie and Bill (maybe even Aunt Muriel too).
-
That looks brilliant. Good to see you can get quite a bit in there without it feeling crowded.
-
Agreed. Plus a proper Belloq figure too. The last one just used Malfoy's head.
-
I think the plane is a definite yes. There's already another toy of it and it pops up a few times during the trailer. I don't know about the castle but the train we see in the opening sequence could be a set. Maybe accompanied with some motorbikes/cars. I think we'll also see something from the New York parade as well.

What are some of your favorite themes/sets?
Tariq j replied to Legomind3000's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It has to be Indiana Jones for me. I don't think there was a single bad set they produced for the theme back in 08. Excited to see what they do this year. -
I don't about evergreen but I think the Indy theme could definitly last a long time depending on how well the sets sold. Even thought there are only 5 films LEGO could still get pretty creative. The Hovitos Temple for example, can work both as a playset and a diorama set. They could even do something like Henry's Grail diary in the style of the "Hogwarts moments" series where you open it up to reveal the Grail Temple or something.

You can't remember the AT-ST?! Return your Star Wars fan card immediately sir! Good choice on the sets. It's nice when LEGO have smaller ones that you complement the UCS with.
-
A crumbling away face for Voldermort would be really cool actually. Something similar to Salazar maybe.
-
That looks really good. Reminds me of the ones LEGO use in their stores. Looks as though there's space for an AT-ST if you wanted to add one.

That sounds like an epic line up. It's great to see we're fi ally going to be getting a proper battle of Hogwarts after so long! I know there were a few sets back in 2011 that were sort of based on it but there were a few inaccuracies here and there. Gringotts sounds brilliant. I'm assuming we'll be getting a proper facade, the dragon and hopefully a small roller coaster. I think there's a good chance the Expecto Patronum set will be a DH one. That way you could maybe display it with the Battle of Hogwarts set. Intrigued to see what the last two sets are. Buildable Horcruxes maybe? (Other than Nagini and Harry obviously ).
-
Agreed. I liked that they've kept the old logo for the packaging rather than the new one. I think the plane will be a major set. It was featured a couple of times during the trailer and in the filming pictures. And we'll finally our first Mads Mikkelsen figure!
-
Yeah, we only got 3 sets didn't we? The plane chase, the motorcycle chase and the boat chase. The circus train and the Grail Temple are a must. Weirdly Donovan has never been released as an action figure toy before. Kenner/Hasbro have never made him and neither have LEGO. They chose poorly
